The Box

It's funny to me how easily someone can forget
How neatly they can box up their world and leave you out
Perhaps because they just cant see you for what you posess inside
The passion you have to yet to show them lays dormant, in sleeping silence

Do you dare remind them that you exist, that you are there waiting?
Do you take the chance of yet another broken heart,
to hear them pass you over so insignificant and worthless in their eyes
You scream in your soul, hoping they will hear you but they cant

Deafness has a way of becoming selective for those you love the most
Scream louder you say to your heart, and yet your words fall in silence
Unable to even linger in the air, you watch helplessly as they wither away
Into that place where lost words and forgotten souls go to die.

Back to your corner you go, for as silent as your screams have become
So has your face become that invisible cloak which keeps you hidden
Against your will you watch as you fade away into the black cold box
Your strength to fight gone with the screams, withered away in the fight.
