View Full Version : It’s the story of your life movie, who plays YOU?!

After watching The Blindside AGAIN last night, and seeing the real life pictures of the people that the movie is based on, and the resemblance of the actors involved, I started wondering… who would play me in the story of my life?!
Just for fun, who would you pick to play YOU in the story of your life movie? It could be anybody ~ an actor/actress, musician, artist, someone you think kinda resembles you, or even someone that you think relates to you in some way.

who was the lady in Misery? You know, the one who kidnapped him, tied him to the bed and then beat him? mmmmm...she would be good to play me. She gets into her character and can be outspoken yet funny, twisted but a survivor, sexy (did you see her in the hot tub scene?) but conservative with herself to others. Yeah..her....

Omar Sharif, Anthony Quinn and/or Jenette Goldstein.
Ms. Goldstein is the actress who played the Latina Butch character in the movie, Aliens.
Omar Sharif, in the 60s I was a child but the characters he played were larger then life. Yuri in Doctor Zhivago; Sharif Ali in Lawrence of Arabia.
Anthony Quinn is now deceased but he was of mixed heritage like me, Mexican and Irish. He was also the first Mexican American to win an Oscar. He won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 1952 (before I was born) for his role in Viva Zapata.

Holly Hunter. Hands Down, man.
We're just about exactly the same size. I figure we look well enough alike. She talks about as Southern as I do when she's pissed or happy or probably even when she's fucking, and I'd do all those things in a true reimagining of my life's story.
And sister can wear a pair of jeans. (Might not have tits god gave a bait worm, but she looks good in them jeans, man.)

Since she's been a topic of discussion today, I'll say Sandra Bullock can play me. Not because she looks anything like me or acts anything like me, but it would be a hell of a stretch and I know she could do it. Anyone who can stand on a stage and give any credit to a guy like Jesse James after winning an Oscar, could play the starring role in "Brokedown Butch" (which is what the movie would be named).

Then, to some friends in high school and first two years of undergrad my nickname was Molly:
http://aliontheair.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/molly-ringwald-breakfast-club-photograph-c10103186.jpeg
Even though my hair has pretty much made a 360 over the years and has gone back to the Molly Ringwald circa 1980s look, I don't really look like her, so I vote for the following:

At first I was confused (in school), and then (once I learned about the Sugar Cubes), I was flattered. I find her very pretty and exotic, not only in looks, but her way of thinking. She's definitely a free spirit!
Plus, it gave me an in with kids that most couldn't talk to and I like that exclusivity too. Now that I don't look as much like her, it almost feels as if I've lost part of what made me special. *shrug* Juvenile, but true.

My first thought is Charles Bronson. I believe it is his haggard-looking, hard-living, weather beaten face. That is what I see when I look in the mirror. Hard living in the fast lane and many a bar during the 70s and some of the 80s gifted me the "very old look." Plus, I will be 54 years old next month.
I love all of Bronson's Death Wish type movies. Hard action does it for me. Plus, they seem to de-stress me. I am usually worn out and peaceful in a good way after I watch one of these.
I am not wild about comedy movies although there are exceptions. I am non-negotiable with those sweety-pie so predictable romance movies. No exceptions. Ugh! I would sooner die than suffer through a romantic flick.
Psychotic thrillers like The Silence of the Lambs, Seven, etc., are excellent and will always intrigue me.
Hey bigbutchmistie, yes ... Hillary Swank was great in Boys Don't Cry - extremely convincing!
(By the way, I did not catalog Boys Don't Cry under "Romantic." ... just saying.)

Her character in the movie: scenes where she's at that huge party or playing her guitar, while she's sitting in the open balcony window of her apartment and singing "Moon River" (and many other scenes in the film) seems to be a fair depiction of how I view myself in some cases as it pertains to my life. Téa Leoni. Right combination of goof and klutz. Perfectly cool in her uncoolness. Interestingly, yesterday, someone told me it should be Tina Fey playing me, but I'm still picking Téa. (Mostly because I think her husband is insanely hot. I'm shallow that way.)
Im thinking for my younger years, it would be a preadolescent Jodie Foster; for the teenage years, it would be Mindy Cohen, Natalie from Facts of Life; for my stellar adult moments it would be Candance Bergen as Murphy Brown; for my not so stellar adult moments it would be Rosann Barr a naturale.
Stick them in a blender and I think it coagulates into Bea Arthur!
