What Disappointed You Today?

Okay, we have what made you smile, what made you sad, what you really like/don't like, what made you pop a zombie face, and so on and so forth threads already. What I would like to know is what disappointed you today. Life is full of those small, annoying moments that make you sigh as if the world were resting on your shoulders but not enough to actually be sad about them. Tell me about those moments.

Today, I ordered a pizza from a nice little place that normally does a really good job. I ordered it with pepperoni, pineapple and I saw that they had red peppers listed on the box picture so I asked for those too thinking it was quite clever of me to get in a meat, a veggie, a fruit, and a grain with each slice.

When I got the pizza, I saw the pepperoni and the pineapple but no red peppers. I called them up and asked if the red peppers were chopped up or if they were pureed or why was it that I was not seeing them. They, apparently, don't exist. Though the box says red pepperS, they mean red pepper, as in crushed red pepper flakes.

Disappointment ensued.

I'll get unemployment for the hours I've been cut, which will help some. I'm already in the process of relocating to Austin. I'm just trying to save up money for the trip down, the repairs I must make to my car beforehand, the Reunion (because it's been 5 years and I deserve it, dammit), money to mail my stuff down (it's going to be cheaper than Uhauling it), and finish paying off some local debt that needs to be paid off before I leave.

I've been working my plan for a while now and things are progressing, albeit slowly. I've known this was possible...probable...for a while now. Our town is driven solely by the military. When bids are lost and/or no ships come in for servicing or dry docking, there's nothing here. So, it's not a shock, just a disappointment, especially when they just hired someone and they intend to keep the worthless person she was supposed to have replaced and drop everyone's hours down to bring the new girl's up. I really don't understand their plan in doing this but if they are trying to drive the good employees away that have built a rapport with government workers and civilians that have been coming here for years, they are onto something.

My cancer surgeon is leaving the hospital she is at to work at NIH, and another hospital just for the poor. I am disappointed to loose her as my doctor, but am grateful that others will have her as their doctor. And the many who will reap the benefits of her talents in cancer research.

Just learning today one of my favorite artist/singer/songwriters died on Jan. 1st 2010 of breast cancer she was 37. :shocking: . I just discovered her about 2 yrs ago. Her name was Lhasa De Sela she sung french , spanish and english born in New York. Amazing voice. I was so looking forward to see her perform one day . This sucks.

As a farm they will write it off as a loss because they can't sell older saplings as they can magnolias. I'm disappointed in how I stubbornly I suspend awareness of red flags.

I'm disappointed at my teflon heart. WTF? Should I not trust my own feelings, since they come and go so quickly?

The opposite of disappointed is "satisfied."

I'm satisfied with my assessment of these things.

I'm satisfied with my clarity; my calm, thinking self observing my emotional self.

Life....I'm 43 and after so much hard work have very little to show for it. I have 3 kids, my health and most of my teeth. And that's about it. I'm not suicidal, but what's the point of struggling anymore? I never get what I want. I barely get what I need. No matter what I do, I do not get ahead so why try?
Yes that was rhetorical. Please don't try and cheer me up. I'm trying to deal with my reality the best way I know how.

I am still on my current depts schedule. I was told in three weeks I would transfer to my new job, if not sooner. It is now that 3 weeks! Well we are undoubtedly busy this week and a couple other people gave their 2 weeks notice so they are out. I have been moved from mornings to nights. I guess i will just go with the flow, get back into the groove of nights and get ready for my transfer and career change next week, while trying to enjoy my last few days and my coworkers. :p

The best way to handle disappointments is to know it will get better and look at the positives!

I am so sick and tired of the unending acts of stupidity and cruelty against animals we human animals perpetrate on them.

Today my friend sent me photos of her yearling horse her EX decided to suddenly give back to her.

He didnt bother to tell her the filly went thru a fence...

a month ago

and no vet was called

and the wounds were down to the bone

and the girl was in obvious suffering

and her legs and chest were so infected the puss was oozing out of the wounds and dripping on the floor.

it was another act of vengeance against her by her EX.

the horse will live. But only because she is somewhat of a miracle worker with horses.

I however, want my pink rifle NOW
