That sounds more like me than my mom.
I've heard it before but, especially today, it really struck a chord with me.
Thanks!

OMG that was great!!! I don't think she missed a thing.......
My mother died suddenly in 2001.
She and I were best freinds.
She was a singer who used to sing "My Buddy" to me when I was young.
This CD and cover were composed by me as gift to my family in her memory.
This is my mother as she appeared in 1954.

Now, it's my turn to dedicate My Buddy to her:
My Buddy
Life is a book that we study
Some of its leaves bring a sigh
There it was written by a buddy
That we must part, you and I
Nights are long since you went away
I think about you all through the day
My buddy, my buddy
Nobody quite so true
Miss your voice, the touch of your hand
Just long to know that you understand
My buddy, my buddy
Your buddy misses you
(Instrumental Break)
Miss your voice, the touch of your hand
Just long to know that you understand
My buddy, my buddy
Your buddy misses you
Your buddy misses you
Seems everybody from the old guard recorded My Buddy.
My favorite and mother's favorite was Dinah Shore with Andre Previn.
I couldn't find a clip of it.
So here's Bobby Darin.
Happy Mother's Day mama.

Never bring bleach into the house, in any form (pure, Softscrub w/ bleach, etc.) (of course, I could NOT wait to bring bleach into my house the second I had my own place. How many articles of clothing have I ruined in the last 20 years because of it? Yep.)
There are so many more "What Mom Said" examples, and ones that are much more over-arching, but guess why I just was reminded of this one? Yep.
Her favorite saying to me was "keep making that face and it will get stuck like that".
and yup it sho nuff did...:bomb:

My mom used, "Roll your eyes one more time, and you'll be picking them up off the floor."
It kinda worked.

Mine didn't say this, but I heard a dad, who at the time, was one of my best friends as well as my boss, tell his kid on the phone...
I brought you into this world. I can take you out.

One thing that sticks out in my mind is my mom was 5' 2" and my brother was 5'10". She would tell him to "get down here to my level so I can slap you silly". Of course she never did... but it sure was funny seeing my tall brother pulled down by his ear to my Mothers eye level. :superfunny:

My Mom had a very dry sense of humor, as did her parents. She once said to a sibling...
"You realize there's difference between FOR SALE and ON SALE, right?

We never said we were bored EVER, or my mom would "find us something to do".

A friend shared what her mother would say if she dared to say she was bored .......
"You're not bored, you're boring. " It spurred her to becoming the most interesting and talented person I had the pleasure of spending time with for almost two decades.
My mother only had to say one thing to me when I did something wrong..."I'm so disappointed". That just crushed me! I didn't
need any punishment after that. That was the worst punishment for me.
Loved the video, even as adults my kids still here some of those things lol....
