Happy Birthday to Harvey! He has a very special place in my heart. I grew up in a small town in California, not that far from San Francisco but in many ways it was a million miles away. Harvey was one of the first out public figures I knew about, other than people I read about in books. Harvey did give me hope, and seeing the beautiful candlelight march after his death is something I will never forget.

Thank you Harvey. You gave us hope.

I am so grateful to Harvey Milk for all he managed to do.
That speech about hope makes me cry. Every. Time.

As I look around at all that is going on regarding our rights, I am saddened that we haven't come farther. It may not be Anita Bryant, but plenty have stepped up to take on her mission.

May the spirit of Harvey burn in each and every one of us. :beerbros:
