Well summer may not be here yet officially, but it's in full swing as far as I'm concerned! I see people out in their gardens, cars with kayaks on top, the :putting: seems to be pretty busy these days, and people are mysteriously disappearing. (to go :fishingboot: I suspect!)

Whacha got in mind for YOUR summer? Some :waterski:? Maybe some :outfield:? Or with any luck, a litttle :love1:

I am a high school math teacher, and I have a few more weeks of school before we say goodbye to the students.

I am taking two classes: one in nanotechnology and one course to celebrate International Polar Year, which was last year.

I have a lot to learn about the robotics program I am starting, and I have a lot of software to install and a lot of irregular mazes to design.

We are starting to play seriously in the garden today, and I think we might plant some garlic if there's any at the farmer's market.

I am looking forward to visiting the farm where we bought a share. You should see the list of veggies we get in June!

I live right across the road from salt water, so I've got no excuse, but for some reason we didn't make it to the beach much last summer. So my sweetie and me made a pact that we are going to the beach. The swimming beach, the beachcombing beach, and the lake - several of our friends have cottages. And my promise to myself is to NOT get any third degree sunburns this year! :|

I'm going to NYC in June to see some friends AND go to two baseball games, Mets vs. Tigers. Can't wait for that!

I'll be spending some time in northern Michigan, in my hometown, which has amazing beaches on Lake Huron.

Other than that...working, working, working.

I will be headed for the beach in about 2 weeks. Going to Boca Grande, and taking a boat to Key West!!!

Work, garden, few camping trips, maybe a Charleston or Savannah trip, maybe a trip to the aquarium in Atlanta. Hopefully Biltmore in fall wish I could go now while all the flowers are blooming, maybe a weekend beach trip in the fall. Much to many people at the beach this time of year for me. Damn I left out fishing how the heck did that happen

Sadly my vacation time is in short supply, but I will have enough to take a trip with my gf. She will have a whole month off, which I will very much enjoy even if I have to work.

So far I've spent an ENORMOUS amount of time doing yard work. But hopefully when it gets hotter the grass will slow down and I'll have time for some of the work I want to do on my house. A new dog yard has to go up: we're making it a little smaller so we can built a little patio for ourselves. It'll be cool there in the morning. Can't wait to have my breakfast sitting in the shade by the brook! Then for the afternoon shade, I'd like to replace the front steps with a verandah. Don't know if I'll get this started this summer or not, but a girl can dream, can't she?

Well, we have done some landscaping in the backyard, the pool is beautiful and sparkly and ready for the summer kickoff, have some garage cleanout to do, planning a gathering for the 4th of July since I have a four day weekend off of work, and a summer closing wedding in Massachusetts. Yep, I'd say this summer is right on track for being a really good one! Hope everyone enjoys their summer!

Our Summer, hell even our Spring, is not looking so great.

We've had a whole month of rain! Well, really it has barely stopped since January.

Please Universe, I'd like to have a Summer this year

Camping and hiking and swimming... *crossing fingers*

After I get settled into my new place...
going to visit Christie and Jess
trips to the lake and mountains often,
gardening to my hearts content!!!
camping YEAR AROUND any time the urge hits
getting lost a couple times to enjoy the scenery in my new hometown
grilling out as much as possible... maybe even build a special fire pit where we can enjoy after-dark bonfires & roasting marshmallows and have the smoke keep the skeeters away
RELAXING when I can
going to see my nieces and brother
meeting my two best friends from PA somewhere in Richmond or another "in the middle" place for trips to museums and botanical gardens
hiking
fishing and feeding my turtles
picking up old hobbies that I had pushed to the side...like my photography and sculpting
bird watching!!
a little boating... maybe even renting a pontoon boat at Lake James for a whole crew of us to get together for the weekend
doing some home fix up projects that will bring me much joy that I can help out a friend
sitting out on the porch to watch every beautiful sunset possible
enjoying the company of good friends and people from my new hometown (I intend on being the best hostess they've ever met!)

I love all things outdoors... I'm sure I'll add to this list

Anybody into kayaking or canoeing? My canoe is permanently at my cousin's cottage, but I'd love to get a kayak - even if just one of those little sit-on jobbies so I could make sure I liked it. (I'm pretty sure I will) I have three neighbours across the road with boat ramps, and literally DOZENS of lakes, rivers, and of course, salt-water beaches in a ten to a thirty minute radius from here. I can't think of any better way to get away from it all. Being on the water is what it's all about! :sailing:

I be so green with Enviousness after reading some posts....
At best?
I might spend summer gawking at Campus Squirrels + Freshman campus dykes....
Maybe Dive into OU Pool, sign up for local Kendo dojo, visit a park or two, BBQ!!!!!!
The only plus side, possibly gonna have my boi with Me for it all....

I'll be working all I can in preparation for two things. One is fantastical and they other will be fantastical, eventually, but it kind of sucks during the process.

One: reunion.
Two: moving

Well,

nothing much other than -

keep working on my studies during summer session;

On Monday, I'm going to the beach - but it's not all fun and pleasure: I'm stopping off at a casino and conducting a field interview for my current class;

Eventually, I hope to find a work placement by September;

THEN, my final project I'm working on is to find a new place to live - my youngest son (Mr. Ed) is leaving the nest this fall and I want to move to a less expensive, yet beautiful, neighborhood that is closer to the city.

Other than that? It's life as usual.

I made a pretty major career change this past year and, where it used to be the slow season, summer is now the busy one for me at my job! So it will mostly be work, work, work for me. (Although that whole do what you love thing and all so it's not that bad!)

I imagine that I will be able to squeeze some time out here and there but we don't have anything major planned. Would like to make a trip south to see some friends and a few days in ABQ would be good for my soul.

Lots of work with some long weekend trips and day excursions peppered through. Going to Martha's Vineyard in a week or so--a friend is lending us her house for a few days. In July, I'll take my kids to the Jersey shore for a long weekend with my parents and brothers. Then, the summer is capped off with our friends' big gay wedding over Labor Day. It will all go too quickly, as usual!!

I hope I get a few road trips in to the PNW. I have a small RV and love to travel old historic highway routes. Since I am renting out a studio on my property starting next month, I'll have someone that can take care of my cats while I take off some. I take my dog with me... everywhere!

I will also do what I usually do, work in my gardens and on my house. I'm retired fully now, so plan on a lot of catching up on those projects I was always trying to get to.

I really wanted to go to the Planet's ReUnion, but won't be able to do so. Sux, as I have gone to the prior 2 Bashes and I really like being able to see people in person that I have gotten to know via the sites. I will go to the Femme Conference as an ally in Oakland in August as I live close.

Of course, I will dance this summer - goes without saying!

Work. Won't have time or money for a vacation this year :( Just started my new job so no vacation time for me. Ah well, may take a weekend to go hiking or camping, plus I'll probably be doing a lot of biking as well on weekends. Went biking around the island with a friend yesterday, loads of fun and hope to do more of it over the course of the summer.

Fishing (Lake Corpus Christi and Goose Island and maybe some Gulf fishing too. Melissa fishes while I read. She's a two fisted fisherwoman. She has two rods going at all times.)

Beach - I know we'll go to Mustang Island and McGee beach at least.

A trip to Austin next weekend for Pride.

Little Rock and the reunion in August!

Texas State Aquarium for a dolphin encounter in June

A few walks, a few picnics, lots of laying on the couch watching TV, and lots of reading.

I admit that although I have a gardening going it's not as large as past years. My goal this year is to expand my dog boarding business and make my house more energy efficient. Then I can work towards growing more for a living.

This summer I will fall in love like never before. I can feel it in my core. This summer I am feeding my spirit and enjoying my extraordinary life.
