Continuing Education Units (CEU)
TransOhio has partnered with The Ohio State University’s College of Social Work to provide Continuing Education Units (CEU) for Social Workers, Marriage & Family Therapists and Nurses.
CEU and CLE credit is pending.

Join us for the 3rd Annual TransOhio Transgender and Ally Symposium, August 13-15, 2010 in Columbus, Ohio!

This year we expect over 250 participants to enjoy more than 70 workshops covering a variety of topics including:

Health & Safety
Sex & Sexuality
Partners, Spouses & Family
Legal Issues & Employment
Religion & Spirituality
Education & Advocacy
Culture, Media & Arts

Our keynote speaker is author and theatre artist S. Bear Beargman who lectures frequently on issues relating to gender and sexuality, and counsels educational institutions on policies regarding transgender students.

It is no secret that with every passing year, transgender issues and interests find a firmer foothold in the broader GLBT push for equality and justice. Now more than ever, it is essential to provide a venue for strengthening community support, education and advocacy. TransOhio is an organization committed to serving the statewide transgender and ally communities in just that capacity.

Evening Performance:
PAINT! A Transformative Project

About PAINT! A Transformative Project by Sile P. Singleton
Set against the backdrop of a socially constructed notion that communities of color are “more homophobic than white communities,” Singleton, chases the metaphor of the rainbow from her earliest childhood memories in the church to today’s rainbow clad “twirly” boys and “dykes on bikes.” Sile guides the audience through the very personal journey of an American Black Midwest Queer Trans-person and her quest for the symbol of hope and ‘everlasting inclusion.’

It's not doable for me and Nick this summer, but next summer we should make it. I think it'd be good for Nick to go.
