Hey All!
Just wanted to let you all know that we are working to get our Marketplace up and running!
Our Marketplace will be a dynamic separate site where Queer folks can sell their wares, auction off those old records, buy arts and crafts from other Queer folks, advertise their services, and help support one another in this crazy economy.
We believe in supporting the Queer community and a great way to do that is to buy products and services from WITHIN our community whenever possible. I hope that all of you are just as excited about this venture as we are - (and we have a TON of stuff to get rid of)
There will be a banner on the front page and a thread with information for anyone interested in doing some buying or selling!
WOOT!
Yet another fabulous idea!!!! This sounds oh so exciting!!!

Well :)
I knocked her out with NyQuil tonight, I was starting to seriously get concerned about her long hours building the site and slugging RedBull.
Shes starting to look like a mad scientist.
God love her.

We are all so blessed to be together, and for some of us (including me) to let the healing begin. I'm truly humbled.

:)This is actually a BRILLIANT idea.... and one which will absolutely have an impact. I'm really excited about it... can hardly wait to see it come to fruition! How do you all visualize it..... {I'm remembering how successful the femme swap things were at some of the bashes}. I've sold TONS of stuff on ebay, but those fees sure take a bite out of any profits! Looking SO forward to this new venture!

And all that we have! We are such a talented group! I only named a small few that I could think of with my pre-coffee brain.

I'm smiling and I don't do that much these days. The two of you are giving so much to us, the queer community. This site and another one to sell our stuff. I think you've outdone yourselves. I for one, am looking forward to the future ya'll are carving out. Whatever the venture is, I'm sure as a community, we're all a holler away if you need help. oh yeah........yay, for new beginnings!!!!!

I like this......i like that the market place is for all.... I like that now I can sell my services ..soon as I figure out what services I have to sell.....oh I know!!!!!
For Rent: One terribly old, boring butch that will quietly sit on your sofa and read....will look up when you clear your throat nod affimatively and agree to all you desire....pull his wallet out of hys back pocket and hand it to you; then happilly go back to reading. From time to time feed butch lemon water, grill cheese sandwich, and he will happily remain there till the book is finished. Rent is cheap, you supply the books.

I was starting to get a little concerned about them last week for not getting out of the house in weeks! I was thinking some sunlight and fresh air would do them good! :) I kept saying "the weather is gorgeous so lets go do something!" :D
I finally got them out last weekend with news of a big gun show at the fairgrounds and a big book sale at our main library downtown! I knew they couldn't resist those! :p
At one point Medusa raked an entire shelf of books into her box! I thought we were gonna have to get the national guard to help us carry the boxes out to the truck!
Jack and I were like two kids in a candy store at the gun show! We ended up buying matching 9mm pistols and holsters! :D I can't wait until we get our concealed weapon permit! I love the way my shoulder harness feels!

They *really did* buy matching guns.
I watched them zig-zag across the gun show together and I think I told them at one point that they looked like a pair of little fish schooling together.
And Im sorry y'all, but that gun show was perhaps the smelliest, most hillbilly thing I have EVER seen in my life.

Is this going to be like "QUEER E-BAY"????

(Not that I know HOW to use E-Bay, but I would rather learn HERE how to "work it", in order to support our own community - yes!)

I don't really have a marketable talent, per se, but I have lots of STUFF that someone else might like too, like an unworn wedding dress with the tags on it still kind of stuff.
Apparently, shopping is my marketable skill.

Just until you get that permit.
Oh, my harness wasn't/isn't empty! ;) We were able to walk out with our guns & ammo after passing a quick backgroud check. We just can't "legally" walk around with our guns concealed without the concealed permit, which consists of a one day class.
I've owned guns all my life, and have always carried a 38 special in my truck. I just decided to go ahead and get the concealed permit. :quickdraw:
Niceguy <------- Has plenty of big guns for his harness! :shocking:

Hey Folks!
Some of you may have noticed up THERE (pointing up) that there is a link called "Queerbay". THAT will be our new Marketplace home.
I am almost done testing and sorting with it and might have it ready to go by this evening.
If you are used to using eBay, the marketplace will be very similar but not nearly as fancy. I need to spend some time writing up a guide for it and a "usage" policy for folks. If you want to take a peek, feel free.
When I get home from work tonight, I'll devote some more time to it :)
Thanks,
Admin

You are so wonderful!! and so thoughtful!! I just wanted to take a moment and thank you and Jack for making me (and others) feel so welcome!! (and not afraid to post things...)
Your Marketplace reminded me...forgive me upfront if I missed something... but I would love to have a place to refer to for a list of "gay friendly" establishments like barber shops, merchants, local mechanic shops...etc...
My partner has experienced things at places like barber shops and restaurants that break my heart. No one should be treated like that, ever! And one time when I had to have my car fixed, I happened to be wearing the Pride jewelry that my son made for me...these mechanics had serviced my car before and we always had great conversations because I grew up working on cars...but they saw my "true colors" and gave me a hard time that day. I refuse to go back!
Much TLC,
S&C
