OMG yesterday I was running around in the yard and fainted. I normally get my chores done early then later in the evening might go back out if its not too hot. I blackout when the temp goes above 85 and I get overheated. I lost track of the time and was busy. It's too early for this shit. You expect august to be really bad but not June.

We had 3 days earlier this week that were unusally cool and unsually low humidity.. but I wasn't complaining. It was nice to be able to exercise outside for a change during the summer.. then BAM!! 98 degrees F and thick thick humidity again.. makes your skin feel clamy and icky just as soon as you walk out the door!
Sometimes I have trouble breathing (the humidity), but it isn't really hot enough out to melt me... I guess I really DID escape from Hell! :cheer: It was hot enough to melt the streets and parking lots, there; I used to come home with asphalt on my shoes all the time.
I complain about the heat nowadays, but I know I'm lucky to be here in Kansas!

It hit 100 today in Charlotte. I imagine it was at least that up in Concord where I work - it's generally at least a degree warmer there. I spent 3 hours today (10-1) at our storage space organizing, cleaning, reboxing & labeling. Nothing like a super hot day spent in a metal building with no ventilation.

Bit, did you try making them? It seems like it would be right up your alley :)
It would have been right up my alley, Selly, but we don't own a car. I don't think it's been hot enough here anyhow; we have cloud cover, and I suspect it takes direct sun through the windshield to get a car heated up enough to bake.

Tomorrow it will be 92* with a dew point of 78*.
I don't know whether to breathe or swim.
Dear Kansas,
When did you change your name, and why wasn't I notified 72 hours in advance?
I spend my days with my skin as wet as if I had just gotten out of the shower, and I wear clothes as wet as if they had just come out of the washer. I cannot breathe when I go outside and my dining room is back up to 84 degrees, even with four fans, an air cleaner, and two air conditioners running non-stop.
You lured me in with a summer so cool and rainy it out-Seattled Seattle. You then teased me with Autumn signs in July and August. For three summers, you sheltered me with storms and clouds and lovely coolness. And now that I am settled in, Kansas, you have pulled a bait-and-switch on me? From out-Seattling Seattle, you expect me to accept out-Floriding Florida?
I call false advertising, Kansas! I cry foul!
Give me my money back. :hrmph:

This is how we bake cookies in Arizona in the summer
Have you ever been to Arizona? I bet you've heard it's hot, but until you actually experience it, you won't know what it's really like. Take, for instance, this batch of Arizona Summer Car Cookies. Watch and learn how to bake them, and take it as a lesson on why you shouldn't leave kids or pets inside a car.

Massive heat dome forecast to bake much of U.S. by late next week
By Jason Samenow July 13
A huge, hot area of high pressure is forecast to develop over the central United States next week, which may result in the nation’s most significant heat wave of the summer.
Forecast models, across the board, suggest this dome of hot air will be massive, affecting most of the country, except the Pacific Northwest.
It is too soon to say exactly how hot temperatures will be, but initial indications are that the central United States may face some of the country’s hottest weather with respect to normal. Record heat is certainly a possibility, although exactly how many records fall and where won’t come into focus for several more days.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/capital-weather-gang/wp/2016/07/13/massive-heat-dome-forecast-to-bake-much-of-u-s-by-late-next-week/?wpisrc=nl_rainbow&wpmm=1

Here in East Texas just East of Dallas, they are forecasting triple digit heat without the heat index involved next week. It's going to be hot enough to fry on egg on your head, just sayin. It's already like 98 here and the heat index today is at 108, I can't imagine how hot next week will be with the heat index, and I have to mow 3 yards next week for family that can't. UGH, I"m gonna fry.

My son has been having an ongoing yard sale, at night he covers everything with tarps until he opens up the next day. Today he didn't get around to opening up shop until late morning and when he pulled off the tarps he found a big pillar candle melted so badly he couldn't sell it, and this was a few hours before the hottest part of the day even. Good thing he didn't wait until 3 or 4 pm or the mess would have been even worse.
