Which of those places did you enjoy living the most? They all sound like very exciting places to live! I am curious to hear more!

(((nycfembbw))), You are so sweet! I grew up in the San Francisco Bay area, and no matter where I go, that will always be home. I am particularly fond of Oakland / San Francisco because it is progressive and a creative hot bed. I find that exciting. Chinatown in San Francisco is one of my favorite places to get lost for the day. Ashland is similar to the Bay Area but tucked way up in the Mountains. Lots of Art and Theater, the Shakespeare theater is there, and people from all over the world visit for that reason. Pretty sophisticated for a small Mountain town, and quaint. Honolulu is delicious, although I prefer the Big Island of Hawaii. It still feels like Hawaii there, and its "island style". Honolulu has some of the best shopping in the world, probably much like NYC where you are from. Expensive, incredibly beautiful, yet has a haunting feeling to it. Very few white people mostly Asian or a mix. LOL and because EVERYTHING is shipped in meat is cheap, veggies are expensive, makes no sense being it's the tropics. When I was there Farmers markets were sparse so the best place to get veggies was Chinatown. And, if the Matson line or the dock workers go on strike, the whole island can shut down. That's kind of scary. The water is incredible, like in Florida, where it feels thicker and saltier. It would be my dream to retire there. I know most people from NY go the the Caribbean to vacation, because it's easy access, but Hawaii is worth the trouble in my mind. A lot of Puerto Rican's on the Big Island loving that island vibe :) As far as which one I love most??? The Bay Area may be home but Hawaii owns my heart, plus I LOVE hot weather !!!
