Unfortunately it's cloudy here, and the National Geographic website doesn't include information on best viewing areas/times, but I suppose those are nebulous things to pin down.
"Energetic solar storms can disrupt communication and navigation systems..."
But maybe that explains why VZ Navigator keeps sending me to piles of dirt.

I am going to check this out. I live near the mountains and generally it is amazingly clear. What a gift it would be, to see such beauty. Thank You!

where, oh where can i go to find out if this is gonna be visible here in the midwest and what the best viewing times are?
