Hey Folks,
Any fans of the new HBO Series "Boardwalk Empire"?
If so, I'm curious to know what you think of it.
I'm hooked on it, which comes as no surprise when you're into stuff such as the underground world of mafia, etc...

I love it! Though I have not watched this Sunday's episode yet!
It is so well researched, every detail rings true. Even the babies in the incunators on the boardwalk. :)
I am very interested to see what happens.
I digg the Nucky character, the good and the bad!
Ultra cool that it has young versions of the famous mafia guys we know about!
Visually very pleasing!
When did it start? I've never seen it, but I can't wait to check it out.
Thanks Scorp!

Heya Guy,
It started 9/17. 3 Episodes so far and it's on Sunday nights at 9 PM EST...
If you have HBO, you're most likely able to watch the last episodes ON DEMAND...
It's great....
Best,

I think so far, I have to say that I am enjoying the show more for how well researched it is...than for the actual plot...which seems to be moving too slow.

I've been DVR'ing the show and unable to watch it during the day cuz of the nudity. Time to close the blinds kids!

It cracks me up that most of the HBO/Showtime shows end up being almost soft core. lol.

Pisses me off a bit Apo...I was so in the mood to watch it earlier today and all comfy on the couch...would have looked suspicious if I decided to close the curtains at 1 PM...Heh

Grin! Oh how I miss my TB! :) You must have a way bigger tv than we do! :) Maybe after Christmas I can get one.
It does seem like the nudity on Boardwalk Empire is just to have nudity though? Does not further the plot really?
Maybe a few more episodes.
Do you think Nucky's G/G is annoying?

I agree. Hopefully, it will get better. I was so looking forward to watching it. My Grandmother talked a lot about this era and getting her gin from Canada (she was in Washington State). She said there were speakeasys everywhere.
I love the costumes. I have pictures of my grandmother in her 1920's flapper garb. She was in her teens and early 20's and 30's. She said to me once, "We used to drink a wee bit back then." She is 101.

How cool! I love that era too!
I love the music, the furniture, clothes, style, speakeasies...all of it...except there needs to be a great plot turn to keep our attention.

I agree. Although I personally like gratuitous sex :bedfuck:....not so much on violence :slapfight:. Would be nice to have a well written story in between both.

I love the time frame - the clothes - the gangsters

Season 2 wrapped up and I'm annoyed. The Angela Darmody character was just starting to get interesting again and now she's dead. I'm hoping her death will at least be a catalyst for something interesting later. Who knows, maybe Jimmy will take out his grief on his mother and kill her off next season...
