I'd buy 15,000,000 more lottery tickets @ $2 each and CLEAN UP! ;)
Naw. I got my list:
1) get a good financial advisor
2) pay off debts
3) help out some folks - family and chosen family
4) upgrade my transportation and lodging - as much for my critters as for me
5) there are a number of charitable organizations I'd love to help
6) maybe a little vacation
I don't have great needs, but I have more than this couple (http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/living/2010/11/04/can.lotto.winner.donates.all.cbc.html).

first, i'd take my truck to the shop instead of fixing it myself.
i'd get a new pair of boots, too.
and a motorcycle.
i'd buy my youngest sister a house of her own and have her a pottery studio built out back, then give her enough cash to live on for a few years, until she got her art where she could live off the proceeds.
oh, and top surgery...finally.
i'll have to think on how to spend the rest....or just save it. nah, i'm too old to save it now...i'd spend my life traveling and thinking of ways to do some good with the cash.
i'll come back with more later.

I LOVE this "game"! I know exactly what I'd do.....I think. :eyebat:
I'm going to assume that 50% will be taken by the govt. Right?
1. Call my financial guy. I trust him implicitly.
2. Half of this will be in savings/investment/etc. ~ basically to gather more $.
3. So I have about 7.5 left......
4. That .5 is for me. I'm going to travel, buy a new car, and make my house more energy efficient (solar panels, tankless water heater,etc.). I love my home, so I'm going to stay here. I don't need anything more than this space (though I MAY make an offer on that woods in back of my home & have a new driveway installed). I will hire a housekeeper for sure.
5. 1 million in a trust fund for my daughter.
6. 1 million to Alzheimer's research.
7. 1 million to AIDS research.
8. 1 million to help feed the hungry in the US.
9. 1 million to help house those displaced in the US by acts of nature.
10. 1 million for arts education (music/art/theatre/dance).
11. 1 million for an organization similar to SAGE (in NY) here in Texas.
That was fun. Thanks, Medusa!

Dayum woman...Get out of my head! You beat me to the punch. I just posted something about this in the other thread....
I would:
- Get an all year round place in St. Croix, Vermont or Colorado
- Have a huge party in Vegas and invite my friends and have my favorite bands play all night long
- Donate a large portion to MSPCA
- Pay off all my bills (of course)
- Take care of my family and close friends
- Donate to elderly folks in need of care, and places to live
- Buy stocks and invest
- Donate to hospitals and other needs for research to help cure cancer
- And yes Dusa..donate $$$ To The Planet
You bought a lottery ticket. Your numbers were called. You just won $30 Million dollars.

I would donate it all to scientific experiments....
NOT!
I woud hook up my sister and my close friends.
Donate to charity
Invest
Finish up all our house projects
perhaps add a pool
and
Travel!
Not that I have given this any thought or anything:
1. set up a trust fund to pay me a yearly salary
2. buy myself a new condo with a garage and central air that is professionally decorated and maintained
3. buy my Mom a ranch style duplex so I can take care of her as she ages without losing my sanity, with a property manager to attend to the details and a go-fer to do things when I am not around
4. trust funds for my brothers, nephews, and pals who have stuck by me all these years
5. create an animal sanctuary for hard to place pets staff with people to help them become adoptable
6. create a foundation for educational opportunitites for older women....specifically to pay their living and educational expenses so they can quit their current jobs and concentrate on their next career
7. create a company for female tradespeople who provide services at reasonable cost/no cost to everyday people
8. create a foundation to provide first time homebuying women with downpayments
9. create a foundation to pay veterinary expenses for those unable to afford care
10. create a small living community for elder lesbians with independent, assist living, nursing home and hospice care.
Um, I think I'm going to need more money :|

I know exactly what I'd do...
I would set up a trust for my son, and both my nieces.
I'd set up a foundation that would award grants to cover all the costs of trans surgeries and related expenses. To this end, I would consult an excellent financial advisor to allow the trust to be self-sustaining with prudent investment. (I even have the name of the foundation picked out...had it for years...just not the money to make it happen!)
And then...because I'd still have some F-you money left over ;), I'd set up the little bookstore I've seen in my dreams (because I don't think I could NOT work), and it wouldn't matter if it made a profit or not (see the F-you money reference above). In addition to my small business, I would probably also become a "professional" student....just taking classes with no major in sight....about everything I've ever wanted to learn.

pay the taxes...there goes half
pay off my mortgages (both of them) and all debts
fully fund both boys' college funds
send my dearest friend Annie to Hawaii for that reunion with her sisters
set up a trust at both of my alma maters, to provide scholarship money to women without the means to go (college changed my life for the better twice...I'd like to pass that along)
schedule that vacation to Puerto Rico
listen in while Scoote tells her boss to shove it
get that convertible Camaro
make some significant donations to St. Joe's Hospital (where my son was born, saved my mother's life, and did a needed surgery on my sister without payment)
donate to organizations doing research on cancer, diabetes and heart disease
donate to the Boys & Girls Club
and invest enough so we never have to work again

I'd give some to my sister and her husband who have 2 kids
then I would get a house and pay off my car and go back to school!
and give to charities.

I just realized I'd probably have some money left over, because we don't pay taxes on lotty winnings in Canada, so I'd get a cleaning lady. Yes I would! :blueheels: ...who would shine my shoes, obviously! (I just love that smiley!)

First thing: take care of my family...if I could leave my step mom off that list, I might just do that.
Take care of my friends' bills so they don't have to struggle to make ends meet any more.
Set up some trust funds for some special kids in my life.
Pay for any of my FTM buddies to have any of the surgeries they wish to have.
Buy a new truck...a Toyota FJ...and an RV
Buy a small jet and hire a pilot to fly me to Big Money, Austin, California, Florida, Boston, or wherever my little heart desires.
I would have to pay my panel of date monitors to really weed out the ones using me for my money...cuz I am SURE they would come out of the woodwork!!
I'd donate a lump sum to the Planet cuz y'all are the wind beneath my wings!
I'd probably buy some new clothes.
I'd buy my momma anything she ever wanted and never had!
Might possibly buy a small island in the carribean to make in to a vacation spot just for US!!
That's all I got right now!
(proud that I didn't mention getting hookers, aren't you?! :winky:)

I would start with the usual suspects:
-pay off debts for Organic and myself
-set up a method for saving/investment/retirement/etc
-set up monthly distributions to us from a portion of the money
-go home shopping
-make some charitable donations to people and places that are near and dear to our hearts
-travel
-settle in for a time of recovery from surgery (both of us, different things)
-Organic wants to go back to school
-I'd look into starting the haven for children I've been thinking about for decades now

MMhmm, all of the above! :D
Buy a new house, finish fixing up the old one & find a family in need to give it to.
Do more random acts of kindness. Surprise strangers with money or car keys or grocery gift cards, etc.
Travel the world.
Hire a kitty litter cleaner!!! :) (with all our pets, this may be number one on the list)
Hire a chef to make healthier food taste yummy!
Give to some of our pet organizations. i.e. The Crisis Center, SARC, NoH8, our local shelter, as well as several no-kills, the ranch for the blind children, St. Jude's, etc.
Set up allowances for family & friends as well as ourselves.
Spend more quiet time with the earth...hire people to do the stuff that keeps me too busy to do more of that now..
Travel. Again. And more. And as often as I could talk my wife into it.
Swim naked under a waterfall in Hawaii.
Explore ruins.
Kiss the Blarney Stone.
Help others.
Take a million pictures.
Humanely capture & spay the "Strays" that BELONG to the ass across the street.
Pay for each of our neices to have the college education they deserve.
Play more!! :) Shop more!! Give more!!
Who hasn't dreamed of winning?? :)

-Pay off loans.
-Finish school and start my company for special needs children.
-Set aside school funds and cushion for baby brother.
-Make sure parents are comfortable.
-Same for grandparents.
-Have a travel fund to visit my nieces I have never met, and friends I rarely get to see.
-Get a stable car and house....not exaggerated and extravagant...just safe and logical.
-Donate to things that are close to my heart....the planet, special olympics, habitat for humanity, aids, cancer, abuse, and low income assistance foundations.
-Set aside money for my future children.
Make my life and those that I love comfortable and secure but not keeping around so much that brings greed, spoiled and better than attitudes....allowing only room for gratefulness and sharing.

If the jackpot win was 30 mil, I would take the 15 mil payoff after taxes but first I would hire a financial team and set up a trust fund so that my financial team could go and claim the winnings under that.
Once that was accomplished I would instantly pay myself a set amount and take a 60-90 day traveling retreat of sorts to allow the adrenalin and shock of it all to settle back down. The rest would be placed in a short term cd to await my return.
I would also use that time to finalize my business plans. About half would be invested, hopefully wisely. :)
I would donate to some organizations on my list which include GLBT, domestic violence, and child abuse organizations.
I would buy a suitable house with land for me and Bear to live in, and likely get a new truck and donate the one I have now. I would set up trust funds for a couple of kids that I know to make sure they have the opportunity for college should they desire it.
I would definitely spend a good portion helping those who want to help themselves, not those looking for a hand out.
And I would buy a lifetime membership to the Planet :)

after taking care of donations, debits, family, several dear friends and finding me a good Lupus specialist....
I'd take both of my nieces on a year long educational and exploration trip around the world.... with all kinds of fun but education things planned to inspire them to "reach for the stars". I dream of introducing them to Hands On Sciences (of many different fields), Archeology, Engineering, Social & Cultural opportunities, etc....all kinds of different "field trips" where they can actually get their hands dirty, climb mountains, and dive in oceans!! They would learn and retain so much more than their public schools have to offer by being cramped up in a stuffy class room...Real Hands On Learning... we'd set it up with their school that they could communicate with all their classmates/teachers via Live-cam with feedback, Q&A sessions and a journal of their experiences. We could even make their very own Documentary. An experience that they would never forget and would certainly give them opportunities and inspiration that I never had. Then I'd fund all of their future education and for them to get their Pilot's Licenses. (maybe such an exciting, busy and fun filled year away from "things" would take their minds off their current horrible hardships?)
I'd make sure 3 friends could quit their jobs.... one would get a new house near her daughter...the other needs good health care and a few other comforts to make sure they never want for anything....the third one will get a much needed respite and a special vacation.
I'd buy a small, humble part-time home near my nieces to spend all summers, birthdays and holidays with them.
I'd put my son through I.T. Tech School (since he refuses to go to college because he "learns different" and wants hands on...)
I'd find a very lovely place with lots of land in the mountains to build my Yurt...

I'd buy every shade of red lipstick and write Mr. B's number on restroom mirrors across the country.
I like this game. :) I buy lotto tickets just so i can indulge my lotto fantasies with real gusto.
I would pay off all my debt. I cannot tell you how good that alone would feel. I would pay off my girlfriend's debt. I would pay off all my mom's debt. I would send money to this site, to the innocence project, to the inside books project, to outserve. I would set up something where both my parents got some sort of monthly payment for the rest of their lives. I would quit my job, but I wouldn't tell them why if I could help it. I would sneak a large sum of cash into the drawers of two struggling single mom coworkers - anonymously if possible. I would buy my best friend a house (she has already extorted this promise from me :)). I would show up at my girlfriend's house with a debit card with her name on it in my pocket and the two of us would spoil ourselves rotten for a few months. Then, we would most likely find a place with some land out in the Texas hill country and spend our days gardening, making out, reading, spoiling our pets, enjoying our privacy, and at some point parenting. We would also get a condo in Austin for when we feel like being in the city. And we would be able to have an out-of-state legal wedding and afford for friends and family to actually attend. :)
With all that money you could bye a car bigger than that lil smart car ! :)
True, but having lived without a car for the last...almost 3 years...i don't really want or need anything bigger. I might go with something Hybrid, though.

Ummm first I'd buy property in the mountains on a lake or river and build a log cabin and live as much as possible off of the land. I'd take care of my family and the friends I have now. I'd laugh at the people who suddenly thought they were my friend. Did I mention a new Harley and chest surgery?
I'd probably figure out a program to support and guide young people who feel they are gender fucked. Do some kind of scholarship directed toward the GLBT community. There's more but that would be a start

Well first, I'd buy a new truck - or I'd fix up big blue  Then I'd settle myself a bit and pay off all of my debt and invest a large majority of it. I'd take care of my family and friends. Then I would go on a vacation with whomever would like to go with me. I'd rent a bus - one of those really nice one's that you can live on just so I could travel with my dogs. I'd have to hire a driver too. Then I'd go to Yellowstone National Park and stay until I was ready to go to Yosemite. Then possibly head to where ever (cause there's several really cool parks out west). Then, I'd head to the Grand Canyon and Vegas. The next stop would be Alaska - cause I've always wanted to go. Next stop might be Hawaii. Or the Virgin Islands.
Then after all of that traveling I'd buy a little bait shop. I'd take my dogs to work with me everyday and give away free coffee and spend my days bs'ing with others that share the same love as myself.
I'd have to buy a spot of land on the lake and build a log cabin and a boat dock. I'd have a pool too - and I'd have a huge game room in my basement :)
I'd also hire a kitty litter cleaner for 1playfulfemme because she has a zoo lol

~Quit my job and create a foundation to respond to the health and economic needs of poor women -- and hire damn good people to help me run it.
~Build a sustainable house near a vibrant, queer-friendly area that included a pond, flower and vegetable gardens, and some wild/wooded areas, with a separate guest cottage and studio/retreat.

First, hire a super smart and talented wealth management attorney team…
Second, pay off my student loans and take a personal vow to never fall for the “get a better education” scheme ever again.
Third, buy my mother’s property she’s had for sale for the last ten years and develop it into a family compound, rich with natural beauty (landscaping, etc) and a cost effective home for the remaining years of my life as a new retiree. :)
Fourth, build a foundation to address the needs of others who could use a helping hand with life’s unexpected emergencies arising from healthcare related issues or such until our country finally realizes that caring for our health is top priority over healthcare industry greed.
I’m sure I’ll need a vacation and several other improvements in life so I’ll stop for now and dream up more ways to make life better for myself and others.:rrose: :cherry::bunchflowers:
