"Thousands of things go right for you every single day, beginning the moment you wake up. Through some magic you don't fully understand, you're still breathing and your heart is beating, even though you've been unconscious for many hours. The air is a mix of gases that's just right for your body's needs, as it was before you fell asleep.
You can see! Light of many colors floods into your eyes, registered by nerves that took God or evolution or some process millions of years to perfect. The interesting gift of these vivid hues is made possible by an unimaginably immense globe of fire, the sun, which continually detonates nuclear reactions in order to convert its own body into light and heat and energy for your personal use.
You can't live without the sun's inexhaustible flood of unconditional love.
Every move you make depends on it. Luckily, it never fails you.
Did you know that your personal star is located at the precise distance from you to be of consummate service? If it were any closer, you'd fry, and if it were any farther away, you'd freeze. Is that just a happy accident? Or is it a sign of favor -- a big, broad hint, from a cosmic intelligence that adores you?
+
Of the many things that have gone right for you during your time on Earth, the most crucial was your birth. As you crossed over the threshold, trading the warm dark sanctuary for the bright noisy enigma, you didn't die! It was a difficult act of high magic that involved many people who worked very hard in your behalf. The skills they provided in helping you navigate your rite of passage were in turn made possible by previous generations of threshold-tenders who bequeathed their expertise.
Months before that initiation, a more secret miracle bloomed: Your life began as a single cell, spawned by the explosive fusion of two highly specialized bundles of chromosomes. How could that tiny package of raw material have possibly grown a brain and liver and heart and stomach over a period of a few months? What inscrutable genius guided and oversaw the emergence of your fully formed infant body, that virtuoso creation, from the slimmest of clues?
"Something unknown is doing we don't know what," said astrophysicist Arthur Eddington about the universe. And we are the beneficiaries.
P.S. You have continued to grow since your birth, with millions of new cells continually blooming to replace the old ones that are always dying.
At this moment, you're host to about 50 trillion cells, and each of them is really a sentient being in its own right. They all act together as a community, implementing the monumental collaboration you call your body."

The more concerned we are with the happiness of others, the more we increase our own well-being. Friendliness and warmth towards others allow us to relax and help us to dispel any sense of fear or insecurity so we can overcome whatever obstacles we face." The Dalai Lama

From an old, dear friend in my email this morning:
Today I have a wonderful opportunity to make all things new. I do this by renewing my mind and refreshing my thoughts. I get a "mental equivalent" of what my desires are and hold that image. I create the type of life that is well worth living. My relationships are good, my "Spiritual Fitness" is excellent and all is well. I rejoice in the newness in my life now. And so it is.

" We don't always know whose lives we have touched, uplifted and inspired by a simple act called kindness, because actions many times have unforeseen ramifications. What's important to remember is that you treat EVERYONE with kindness, even those who are rude to you ~ not because they deserve it, but because you deserve it!"

" The best gift one can be given to one's self, in a long time, is the gift to turn away. The road ahead is brighter and comes with healing with each step, as well as the gift to forgive at each stop sign. If what's behind us is not the same as for what's in front of us, then the road ahead was truly worth it."

It's somewhat strange to me to see that social sciences and natural sciences are still debating today over nurture VS nature, as if the two were contradictions or against each other. For me, and hopefully for many, we are the product of nurturing AND nature... but mostly, we need to understand that the nurturing process is going to occur during our entire lifetime and that also, nature process occurs during our entire life... Why so much debate? Is it a question of who will be right and get the most fundings for research... well, it seems that even such basic processes as nurturing and naturing are conditionned by money... good grief.

Today I will do my part to follow through on an inner change. When something inside of me has truly been worked through and released, I will believe in it. I have been restored to sanity. It is in my ability to believe in this that will make it real in my day-to-day life. When I refuse to really accept that an inner transformation has taken place, I will sabotage my own getting well - I take away the inner healing by telling myself that it is not real. I have the courage today to believe that a Higher Power is at work in my life and that I am meant to be whole and happy.
I have the courage to heal.

When I feel angry, I seem to have two ways of dealing with it. I either hold it in and say nothing or I let it out in accusing, venting, nonproductive ways. When I do this, I rupture perfectly good relationships. It is fair for me to register disgruntled feelings when appropriate but that's all I need to do. When I can't hold back from getting into an argument using blame and accusation, I create a mess. When something goes wrong, feeling angry is normal. I need to give myself a few minutes to feel the anger before I act out the feeling, rather than immediately dumping it on someone else. When I can give myself permission to feel my own anger without fearing it will devour me, I can own it as mine and decide what to do with it next.
It is okay to feel anger.
It is okay to let anger go.

" People tend to be generous when sharing their nonsense, fear, and ignorance. And while they seem quite eager to feed you their negativity, please remember that sometimes the diet we need to be on is a spiritual and emotional one. " Living a day with anger & bitterness equals to taking several steps backward from happiness, from people you love, and from your dreams. Anger & bitterness are only a waste of time. Want to make wise use of time?? Do what the mind CANNOT DO but what the heart CAN DO. That is to make peace with yourself, and then you can start forgiving."

" There are people who define success based on material things achieved. This is partially correct. For me, changing an individual's point of view in life, a change in attitude and helping them understand that they can be successful, in time, if they will start changing the way they think and the way they see life as it is: it's already success."
