Wednesday - Be in Iowa
Thursday - Be in Iowa
Friday - Come home from Iowa

I lived in Raleigh for almost two years, best place I ever moved away from.

NOW wait a minute, lol. What would you consider more urban? lol

A lot of places, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, DC, should I go on?

Raleigh is like a giant sprawled out suburb. So glad I didn't stay.

Lists you ask? I have lists for my lists!

The big list includes certain categories for things to accomplish for the year.

This year:

1. health - hopefully I will get clearance to return to the gym next week. And healthier eating without turning into a sprout. And, of course, cutting down on smoking.

2. home - I choose one major project a year. This year I think it will be remodeling the bathroom.

3. recreation - I really want a sailboat. Am at home and at peace when at sea. Can I justify the initial expense and upkeep?

4. productivity - the opportunity to do some consulting work has piqued my interest. Too much education and experience to be fully retired without giving something back.

5. education - am an unscientific person determined to learn physics this year. :seeingstars:

6. reduce carbon imprint - luckily I live in a town where everything I need is within a mile of home. I'm thinking I will be walking more this year if I cant find a bike my back can tolerate.

7. keep the peace - just very important to me to surround myself with people who bring peace into my soul.

To do today:

Eat... ( :) ) ... she's cooking me eggs benedict

Take the Christmas tree down and drop it off at recycling

Take ALL the decorations down

Put up the two wall lights above the bed

Play with my Wii

Light a fire and cook a romantic dinner for my beautiful sweetie....

Start working on my business plan for 2011

1. Got up
2. took shower
3. Took out trash

6. Checked her fluids, she's only a quart low, the car not the wife.
7. Harvest feilds
8. Watch football
9. Play on here
10. Treadmill, perhaps some Wii.

I hate lists for the simple fact they always need to be changed. I'm a fluid kind of guy and need the ability to do things not according to lists, sometimes they don't get done at all and I don't need the reminder that my body again failed me.

Ami keeps great lists.

Post it here so that nosy people like me can see it!

I keep daily, weekly and monthly to do lists. They are mostly work related lists of things I have to get done by certain deadlines. Too boring to put here. I could not survive without the to do list. Best time management technique ever.

My to do list is about change for the year. It's about facing fears and challenging myself. I've actually been doing this along time to make a better me.

My Mother passed a little over 2 yrs now and I have a condo. At first I couldn't even think of giving it up my Moms spirit is all over this place. But I remember her saying to me before she passed many times when I'm gone do what you want ... so now I'm ready to move on and bring her spirit and all of our memories the good versus the bad with me.

With that I started going threw closets , dressers, kitchen stuff, I already donated loads of stuff. I also am doing the same thing at my Aunts she has moved to long term care now so getting her apt emptied is another thing to accomplish. So every day its something and Iam proud of myself since the New Year I do something productive each day.

I'm not sure if I'm going to stick around in Fl, but for now this home. Thanks for listening/reading ~ Kat ~:koolaid:

Its been 10 years since my mom's passing. I will never move out of DFW. It makes me feel close to her. It truly scares me at the thought of ever having to move out of this area...

I say all that to say I understand where you are coming from. Kudos to you for being strong enough to come to a place where you can move on.... :)

I have to do lists for my to do lists and for my games and projects.

Generally, on work days, I try to spend about 30 minutes cleaning. It adds up.

I discovered I get the most done in short spurts. If told I need to work on the house for an hour, I'll barely get the kitchen clean.

If given a list of things to do, but told only have to work 15 minutes at a time, I'll mark off several things on the list within a few 15 min spurts.

The game to do list is more to help me remember who is where because there are so many components to the game. The project to do list is because oftentimes, progress can't really be seen, so it's a way of showing me progress.

I'm still Dragon Slaying today:

My son and I make a return appearance in court today.
(I'm ready, I've got my 'boxing gloves' on)

I may just take another trip down to the coast today.
(we'll see, depends on time and traffic)

my OS is up and running: now to retrieve doc's off my T-drive.
(10 days until I turn in my doctoral application/essay/et al)

It's that change-of-season time and I have many things to do this weekend:

*Spiff up my autumnal wardrobe...buttons on cardies and hems in trousers all need stitching up, coats need steaming and shoes need polishing and a wardrobe needs assessment needs doing. Summer clothes need sorting and packing up.

*Give Cosmo a bath, followed by a scrub of the bathroom top to bottom (because one shake and it's all over)

*Store the a/c unit and the big fan, close the storm windows on most of the windows, lower those on the couple I like to have access to when airing the house.

*Start running outside again, time to get off the treadmill and enjoy the beauty of autumn in New England and the last month(s) before the S-word starts.

*Sign up for the 'Hot Chocolate Run' in December - because I really need a goal to help re-kick-start my running.

Deal with the back porch which has been accumulating hiking, cycling, and honey extracting equipment.
After cleaning porch, put some hooks up so I can hang things up that I want hanging back there.
Take dog for a hike.
Prep for extremely busy work week ahead.
Test some recipes for cooking class next week.
Go through cool new book from library on the periodic tables and plan some lessons for the coming week from it.
Remember that this is technically a day off so I should be able to play a little too.

Now that the house is mostly in hand....

I REALLY need to address the entry way...it's been the catch all since we moved in. There are still a handful of boxes that never got unpacked (from Feb) :| AND our antique sideboard is still out there...it's 6 feet long...getting it in may be an issue...I'm not relishing the process...but it will provide MASSIVE amounts of storage...

and the spare oom...which...I'm THINKING of making into somewhat of a work out room..since the living room lacks floor space...it's currently used as mixed storage...and there's an air bed in there...just in case...

Mow the back lawn. It started to pour before I got finished on Sunday.

Chop back the ivy and the other vine type aggressively invasive thingy that is creeping up the side fencing, before it strangles me in my bed!

Still need to tackle the attic.

Keep paperwork up to date. Always on my to do list.

Buy laminating pouches. Somewhere in this house there are 2 unopened packs. All I need to do is remember where my 'somewhere safe' place is. So like I said.... buy laminating pouches.

Oh yes, and food shop. Or more accurately, fresh food shop. I'm down to 1 pineapple, 1 somewhat wrinkly apple and a few random veggies.

Find some art for a couple bare walls

Get a lingerie chest that’ll fit in an awkward space

For my car:

Find a mechanic that can fix the shock or strut thing in the back

Get my brakes done

See how feasible it is to replace an entire axle…. 😳

For my life:

Take the dang TEAS test already…..

Stop perusing travel jobs….

Stop looking at real estate in Wyoming….

Get back to the gym on the regular

And start keto again!!!

Today: snuggle-shuffle my bootie to work.

Later today (on my lunch break): enjoy a small serving of my home made Mac-n-cheese Jalapeño Bacon lunch. Yum!!

In a couple weeks: visit my cardiologist for my semi-annual check up, see my primary doctor for my fall wellness check up.

Next month: go see my lovely dentist.

By next June: move to a new location (maybe closer to work or closer to the countryside near Salem or Eugene or Wolf Creek Pass).
