2011 Mini-Bash--Minneapolis

I am thinking about planing another mini bash this year and would like ideas for when and what folks would like to do. I am building a new garage and will have a pool table, karaoke, darts, a bar and I have a big deck, fire pit, and horse shoes outside. I would like to have one night at my house. We also thought of camping so I could find a local camp ground that's close enough to city so people could camp and we could do some activities at the camp site. We could do a picnic at a lake--it is the city of lakes and we have several lakes running through our city; we could rent a big boat for a day and go out on the river. And there are a lot of beautiful things to see in the city like the walker and the sculpture gardens.

I was thinking Labor day weekend so it is a three day weekend. Is that too busy a weekend? Do people already have plans? Other weekend ideas?

Lets get this party rolling!!

We are having a a little gather in Minneapolis Labor Day weekend 2011.

Many of the activities will be at my house or in local parks so it will be rather low key.

I will be posting details here; last year we had about 40 and hoping for more; It would be nice to see some butchfemmeplanent member this year too.

Friday early evening:
Femme gathering-- Regardless if you know many or know no one from the site,
a little femme bonding the first night will help everyone feel welcome and a
part of the group (thank you Kitten for this great idea).

Butch gathering: Strap, Jesse, Patrick…

After gatherings maybe we could do a party bus.

Saturday Day time:
Site seeing, swimming at hotel, hang out at the lakes, renting bicycles that are available all over town, shopping, Walker Sculpture Garden, Segway Tours of Minneapolis… We can come up with a list and people can sign up. Or it can be a day for your self.

Saturday early evening and all night:
Dinner—like Strap said a BBQ then Party at my house aka hot-not; I have a big deck and backyard, horse shoes, fire pit thing; and in my garage pool table, karaoke, darts, table for dice or cards, bar, TV, dance floor (my own little lesbian bar).

Sunday Afternoon
Picnic at a beach or park; free time;

Sunday Night:
Talent night, singing, dancing, story telling, playing instruments, singing karaoke; after the show hanging out talking or dancing.

Monday:
Brunch before everyone has to go home.

I know we need to figure out the hotel situation and some folks are looking into it but we sort of need to know how many so we know if we have enough to block an area and get a discount.

Ryobi--I do not know if anyone is planning to camp since it looks like many events will be in the city but if you find a close camp ground I can let others know so if they want to camp too; maybe we could even have the picnic at the camp site.

The plans for the mini bash in Minneapolis Labor Day weekend are coming along.

A little femme bonding at my house Friday evening then meeting up with the rest at a local club and for those of you that like to stay up late-fire at my house after bar.

Saturday exploring Minneapolis including a trip to the Mall of America; evening grilling out and party and my house.

Sunday picnic; talent event in the evening.

Monday brunch and everyone goes home. :D

We are planning a mini bash in Minneapolis Labor Day Weekend and you are Aall invited:

Friday—everyone staying at the hotel will be greeted by Sweet Jane and Salty.
I know that people will arrive at various times throughout the evening so telephone numbers will be given out so that you can call and find us. I am attempting to find friends to act as sober cabs all weekend to save on some of the expenses.

Friday early evening (7 ish to 9:30ish)
Femme Gathering at April’s-- Regardless if you know many or know no one from the site, a little femme bonding the first night will help everyone feel welcome and a
part of the group.
I will have food and drink; nothing formal just hanging out and getting to know each other. I thought 2 to 2.5 hours. I have only one bathroom but plenty of mirrors to freshen up before we go out. We will leave to the bar from my house so maybe have your clothes and stuff ready :D

Butch Bonding—I heard a rumor that one of the Minneapolis butches is planning a little get together for the guys and the butch lives not too far from me. More to come…

We both live about a ten to 15 minutes from the hotel. I will have some transport available and if anyone at the hotel plans to drive maybe they could car pool too. We will coordinate transport for everyone at the hotel to the femme and butch bonding.

Friday night 9:30ish we will pile into vehicles and head out to a local to be determined bar—don’t be rushing the decision of which bar; most of you are guests in this city, relax go with the flow :D
The bar choices are as follow—feel free to look up their web sites and vote on the bar you would like to go to: it is labor day weekend so none of them will be real busy.

1. Gay 90’s has several bars and a great drag show; it is down town so a little closer to the hotel; down side is it is so big that people are likely to wonder between bars and the drag show so we might not get that group hanging out and meeting each other feel.

2. Town House is a smaller bar so we could all hang out together without losing each other in the big Gay 90’s bar; the down side is that the town house is a dive—well not in the cool this is a fun dive; more like a pit. But it is where we go if we go out.

3. Lush is a new, hip, industrial looking space.

If interested we can end up back at my house for a fire; some of us like to stay up until 4 am.



Saturday Day time:
Okay so I love this city; I will be planning a variety of outings that people can sign up for—I will ask for advanced payment for some of the possible events and ask for a commitment. I will post web sights and people sign up—when enough people the event will be closed.
And of course you can use Sat as free time to hang out and….site seeing, swimming at hotel, hang out at the lakes, renting bicycles that are available all over town, MOA shopping, Walker Sculpture Garden, Segway Tours of Minneapolis…

Saturday early evening and all night: thinking 6 or 7ish lets see last year it was 5 am; eat a late lunch so you come to my house hungry :D

I see there's a block at the Comfort Inn Bloomington, just a little fyi for folks... that pretty much sits right atop (next to) the Mall of America for those who like to shop.

Also the MetroTransit Light Rail starts at the Mall and you can take it all the way downtown Minneapolis and beyond to check stuff out... or just enjoy the ride and look around, it's a sexy city ;)

Sooo sorry April, we're not going to make it... I've got a pretty bad cold and also today just paid out the rear to replace the timing chain on my truck... I *think* we may at most drag our camper down by a trout stream and veg out for the weekend... will really miss seeing everyone, have fun people...
