Timber and I are driving up to Central Texas early tomorrow, and have plans for the afternoon in Austin. Our evening event got canceled at the last minute, so we were wondering if any of the Austin crowd wanted to get together for dinner.

Tonight I am spending with a certain handsome butch.
Tomorrow I am one of the 6 Guardians of the Altar for Mr. Marcus Hernandez's Memorial Service. There will be a webcast which will begin promptly at 1:40PM Pacific time – you may login to the webcast at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/memorial-for-mr-marcus
Mr. Marcus was an amazing man. His leather column ran for 38 years in the Bay Area Reporter. He educated, he gossiped, he admonished, he praised and he had fun. He was a great advocate for the inclusion of women in the leather community at a time when most of the leather clubs were disdainful of women.
I have two fundraisers to plan for, a newsletter to get out by next Friday, the Leather Alliance Holiday Dinner to arrange, pies to make, some mending to do...

I need to start deep cleaning, one room at a time. Perhaps one room per day
:( Brush out pooch in preparation for a bath. May have to go to work for an hour.
I'm trying to decide if I should purchase a vintage cocktail dress (is that what they're called? :blink) to offer in in the 2011 BFP auction (no, it is not for me!). It is a skinny strapped, deep purple and sequined thing. But looks small, like maybe a size 7? I don't know if there's many femmes on site who wears that size to get enough bids for an auction. I just haven't a clue :seeingstars: Anyone out there with a thought about this?

I shall be suiting and booting to escort the delightful Alice Allarse to an event at a very straight golf club. I strongly suspect that the fat drag queen and the short skinny bloke with the girls voice might cause a bit of a stir! :winky:

Today, morning yoga, a day full of writing a research paper (well, that's what I should be doing), a quiet evening in followed by more yoga.
Tomorrow, I'm hoping if the weather cooperates we can go do some frisbee golf! And then more studying.
Oh, the exciting life of an adult student. LOL.
Happy weekend, everyone!

Our weekends are always busy. Today, Papa organized a 5K charity race for RBI of Nashville. We got up at 3:30 and froze our booties OFF, but, it was well worth it. Hy and hys classmates did a GREAT job putting this together and hy's MEAN with a bull horn, an air horn and a hand radio! :hangloose:
We didn't make it out on our bikes today so we'll save that for tomorrow :)

I went out with my daughter tonight. We went to see the preview show of the movie Secretariat. It was a great movie about, literally, the greatest race horse that has ever lived AND about the woman who broke through traditional gender roles to save her family farm and be a great role model for her children and all other women. A great movie for a mom and daughter to go see.
we then went back to her place and she made me a salad. I was so happy!
tomorrow I am shampooing rugs and taking the dog out to the park since I didnt get to last week. I think I actually might stay home tomorrow night...now isnt that first for me to say after being homebound for almost three years! LOL

Secretariat won the triple, and the belmont by 31 laps! No horse has ever come close to that again!

I loved how they slowed the horse down and showed us his powerful form as it raced..damn it was incredible!

Lots of yard work and some finishing up on trim paint. My compost is almost ready for bagging. But needs more churning and mixing in of some soil. I'll spread some along with chips I make for mulching, but hope some bags are stored until spring and all that involves with gardening. Yes, I own a home! And love putting around it and doing stuff. So, this weekend is quiet. Next weekend I hope I go to a dance, but, hopefully after doing a short camping trip this coming week. Really need to just be in the woods and fish!
LOL... kind of a boring sort....

The only horse to ever even come close to testing Man 'o War was John P. Grier but they didn't keep Red around long enough to be truly pushed in my opinion. I do, however, wholeheartedly agree with you that there have been and are some truly magnificent creatures in this world. :)

Yesterday I studied, relaxed, pittled around - ate a lot of ice cream, played with the dogs.
I got up early this morning, put a four pound sirloin tip roast in the crockpot, went and shot hoops for about an hour, took Kelly for a walk and have been washing clothes.
About to go to Wal-Mart with my list. I had to make a new list because I lost the one I had in Wal-Greens yesterday. That really pissed me off because I wasted a lot of time back-tracking to see if I could locate where I put it down or dropped it. :wtf:
The summer has finally ended - talking the heat is over and I am such a thankful soul about this. I did not play hardly any sports this past summer. It was all I could do to get my neighbor's and my lawns mowed.
Plan to do more studying tonight. I was introduced to some very sophisticated coding techniques in that technical training I was in every day last week. We went through the entire book. :seeingstars: Now I will go back at my own pace so I can better absorb the concepts. I love learning new things. That training was very, very cool.
Hope everyone has a fun Sunday!

Have a guest from out of town for the weekend- actually close friend of my housemate. So, it is fun to watch good friends have fun catching up and being silly.
Going to watch the Giants v. Phillies play-offs and root my heart out for my Giants!
Take the pooch to the park and look at SF, the Golden Gate, and meditate at the Solar Calendar Memorial, facing West on Sunday. Maybe picnic.

Will celebrate the full moon tonight.
Since it's going to be a beautiful Carolina weekend I am going to spend a lot of time outdoors. I think another trip to the Reed Gold Mine is in order - I feel the need to play in the dirt. Perhaps a trip to the Carolina Raptor Center too.
I also plan to have a long overdue, serious talk with someone. This I am dreading but it must be done.

Organic and I have been the resident dog sitters for a couple of our friends the past couple of weeks and one of the pups had EXCRUCIATING gas one night. We were seriously contemplating tying him out onto the balcony for a while. :|
We got through it eventually, though Febreeze was sprayed frequently and generously throughout the home. None actually on the dog's butt, though.
As for this weekend, we HAD plans but now have to adjust them due to misinformation or someone getting their wires crossed wrong. *sigh*
Painting the outside of my house. But also going to Octoberfest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And for once I'm not driving, so I plan on taste testing a few german beers! the children's halloween party at the church went well. I went as my gypsy self, as did my sister. My nieces suprised us and came as well. It was a wonderful family event.
Our community does an annual Zombie crawl, (which was held this Saturday) where everyone dresses up as zombies and all the downtown businesses, restaurants and bars, opens their doors and gives discounts to anyone in costume. Prizes are given away for best costumes in different categories and they do a Thriller dance, from MJ's video. Had I known this, I would have attended. Now that I know this, I will be practicing the steps to both the Thriller video and the Rocky Horror dance. I shall be prepared next year! It will also give me time to prepare my garb too!

Spending many years in a Hispanic neighborhood in Chicago, I only know how to translate your Dia De Los Muertos into Day of The Dead. Samhain originated as a Celtic festival from what I read. So, my question is, is it the same party or are you doing a weekend of parties? Either way, may the two of you have safe travels and fun :)

My girls and I are going to Vernon Downs (hotel, casino and horse races) Saturday night. Got a coupon so only paying $70 for a room, and it's only about 35-40 minutes away. Going to see the horses run for the last time until after winter, go for a swim (boi and I, a soak in the hot tub) and enjoy a night of being out and about and still spending time together.
shovel snow, plow snow, try not to bust my ass on the ice....

Well I hadn't planned on it, but we went to Columbia at my parents request. Had a fun time, we looked at everything from pop up campers to the big drivers, but I think they've decided against a camper, you can visit a lot of places for a hundred grand that is for sure. Then Friday night they took us to Red Lobster for supper.
Yesterday, we visited the SC State House and walked the grounds, took some great pics that I'm sure one of us will post later. Of course we had to stop for boiled peanuts on the way there. We went to the parking area of the zoo and walked a path down to the Saluda River and took some pics. We came back to NC last night and crashed an burned.
Today is a list of things I need to do...so I better get busy

Moving stuff, organizing other stuff, building some wooden stuff, freaking out with girl who is preparing for her folks to visit over Turkey Day ( it's their first visit and it's only been 4 years...)
Hopefully some Daddy/girl time in there somewhere to keep our balance.
Great weekend folks!
Just for the record, there was officially no freaking out.
That's on the list for today/tomorrow :dance2:

can I just say... I am so happy it is the Holidays.
I love this time of year... I am a sap...
*lighting a fire... being with family, friends, and lovers... and my dog. The music, the hope... hope.
This weekend is wide open. I will probably work a little... in fact, I will... but I will also be with my wife... be with my friends... and share cheer.. love, time, warmth...
It's a hard time.. but I am blessed...
Walking into the weekend with an "attitude of gratitude"...
Just for the record, there was officially no freaking out.
That's on the list for today/tomorrow :dance2:
OK, so I guess it was un-official freaking out.... Daddy on a mad clean fest until 5 am and girl passed out from exhaustion.
They arrived safely after a 2 hour detour because Gramps thought he knew a better way.. heh... Try telling your parents the easier softer way ( since you have only made that trip several times a year for years)... anywhooo... they are here, sleeping soundly in a comfy bed and granny doesn't have to cook. yay!
Happy Turkey Day everyone! I will be sneaking deviled eggs in a bit, trying to get some before the boy gets his mitts near them. Wish me luck!

Pops is already planning "his" return route. I envision them winding up in Georgia somewhere.
The funniest part of the phone calls trying to figure out where they were and how to get them here - well, Pops is pissy because he is lost. Momma is in the background telling him JUST how lost they are and how they should just turn around and go home - and they were 30 miles or so from here! LOL
Momma's tears started before they even got to the house - I had to go meet them down the road at Wally World and the waterworks started in the parking lot. She cried all the way into the house, throughout the nickel tour and again when she told me good night.
Tip of Turkeyday: buy stock in Kleenex.
Lots of love to you and Ms. Pinky - kisses to your Momma and Jax! You all are on our list of blessings!

Well - my sister and I were looking forward to an Open House tour sponsored by a local service club. However, it costs $25 - a shock when we thought that it was free!
So instead we're knitting away on Christmas presents and waiting for the beef stew to be done.
So far we don't have anything planned for Sunday - - perhaps a walk if it isn't too cold.

The store is not my favorite because of how they treat their employees. But my budget loves Wal Mart. Going to Wal Mart tomorrow for my date with Lil Jimmy (4 yr old grandson). We hang out in the toy department while his momma does grocery shopping.
I will be picking up two very tall bookcases I ordered on line; free shipping Site To Store. I will try to talk a neighbor into assembling them. He and his wife owe me a few favors and tomorrow I will try to collect them. I have so many books stacked everywhere. And today I bought eight more at the thrift shop.
When I die my kids will have a field day with the library I have collected over the years as all of them are readers.....

Well our weekend plans moved to include today since we ended up staying overnight at my folks :) Had a mini-Christmas, Abby got to open her gifts from my family, and my folks gave us a Garmin, shopvac, fleece blankets for both our vehicles, a country-looking tree skirt, horseshoe votive candles holder and a indoor/outdoor thermometer with a horse background. Today includes what we wanted to do yesterday but didn't have time to do - put together our breakfast nook :)

The glass top cracked and some glass pieces fell into it but was able to get all glass materials out so all is good and yes the dogs like chili especially the fat one who has Cushing's disease..

well thats good, but you do know that once glass breaks its virtually impossible to get it all out..some pieces splinter into pieces that are almost invisible to the naked eye. Any time you break glass in anything you should toss it out, because it would only take one little sliver to do severe damage....just an FYI
