I am on the tail end of my thirties...don't feel it, dont think I act it either. :winky:

I had a drunk lady do the whole "let me guess your age" pick up line last night when I was out with my friends...she guessed 32...I knew she must have been drinking. :drunk: So I danced with her...lol I am really just kidding, she was actually very nice.

So, a couple of years ago it dawns on me that I am not even half way through my life. I think about this everytime I look in the mirror and see a new grey hair or wrinkle. I look forward to each birthday. I will be 36 in may and I am so excited about it. Yay! 30 somethings!

lol cute though.
i'm not sure how it happened, or when but one day this year I woke up with 5 gray hairs in a patch on the side of my head. i'm not sure i'm ready for that just yet.

My thirties have been great. I'm going to be 38 next month and I feel more settled, more beautiful, and more comfortable in my 30's than ever before.

Since I turned 30 I moved from Chicago, to Boston, to San Francisco and back to Chicago. I bought a home, found love, found that dogs really do save your life (esecially after you had a chance to save theirs).

I pushed and fought career battles. I was an ok boss who turned into a great boss.

I started a business. Yep.

I picked up golf, running and cycling. I'm not great at any of them but really like that I'm doing things where I don't have to be the best; Just the best for me.

I have a group of fantastic friends that continues to grow vs change. We are women who get each other, protect each other, laugh together...

I bought a scooter.

I'm looking forward to 40.

i just turned 37 in february.
i have to say, the 30's has been when i've gotten a handle on life.
i've learned to forgive, learned to move forward and mostly, take each day as it is, and enjoy it to it's fullest potential whenever possible.

yay for 30's!

my 30's have been the best years of my life so far on a whole. Financially, emotionally, spiritually...
In my teens I thought I knew everything. By my early 20's I was pretty much sure of it..The second half of my 20's and the beginning of my 30's have been spent re-learning what I thought I already knew. If that makes sense. It took everything I have gone through in my life to get to where I'm at now.. and I look forward to what the 30's bring.. =)

I'm 35 and know senior citizens that have a more exciting life then I do. I'm really too old for the clubscene - 20 somethings spilling beer on me just doesn't amuse me like it did when I was 20 something. I'm too young to join a bowling league - 50 somethings spilling beer on me doesn't appeal to me yet. And I'm too out of shape to join a softball leauge. Sigh.

My daughters think I'm old. In fact my youngest said that she thought Madonna was dead a few days ago. She was shocked to find out she was still alive. I have to fight with my right hand and brush to not do 80s hair when I'm getting ready to go out. It took a few years to not want to roll my jeans. I've finally accepted the wide leg look and now - fuck - it's skinny jeans that are all the rage!

Somedays I miss the simplicity of playing the Oregon Trail on those neon green screens in the state of the art computer lab in Jr. high. lol. All three computers that played the one game and I failed typing tests on. I miss being in a boys car only because he had a car phone. LMFAO! Remember those? Actually attached to the car and the size of an infant.

I'm at that age where I know just enough to be dangerous....and still think that Lita Ford was badass.

most days i feel like its wake up, work, home, sleep... day 2, repeat, etc ..
where's the excitement? hah...

Braedon,

Once you get out of your twenties, you realize, how much life is different. For me, I am 36, I have quit my job and moved back home. I am loving the fact of having all of my experiences in life to tell my oldest niece and nephew. I hope my experiences in life, help them. I want to see them go to college earlier than I did.

Have a good day,

Zimmy

I am enjoying being in my 30's and wouldn't give it up if I could. I have learned how not to take negative people with a grain of salt and allow their negativity to roll off of my back. Appreciating life and knowing that fate had something good in store for me and that is why I am now back home on the East Coast of Florida. Telling my oldest niece and nephew about the traveling I have done and how I have lived in Boston for awhile. How I am still dreaming of having a baby and having my best friend ask me if I am crazy about raising it on my own. Still listening to the music I grew up with, I am still a die hard Crue fan and laughing at my best friend's little boy the other day when he started dancing to GN'R's November Rain.

I wouldn't give these memories up for nothing.

Have a good day,

Zimmy

I thought 30 was a death sentence...until I turned 30...lol

I'll be 31 in July, and I've finally realized that 30s aren't so bad... I'm actually enjoying it. And I don't know why, but for some strange reason I've noticed that people treat you differently when you say you're in your 30s instead of when they did when you were in your 20s. It's like they magically assume maturity comes with leaving the 20s...lol The "respect for maturity" aspect is good...although I do still get carded when I head to the club... but even still, I hope THAT lasts til I'm 50! It's such an ego booster! lol

Being a Gen Xer is not as bad as the baby boomers and Gen Y thinks. I think we have seen some pretty damn amazing and horrifying events in our lifetime. We are the generation that that saw the advent of home computers, JR get shot, and disco lose the race to grunge. We are witness to many great things and we should be proud as beans to have out lived some of the world's worse pandemics. We are hard workers, but not willing to break our backs for a buck (smarter than the last generation, I say), but not so spoiled that we expect our parents to take care us in their golden years. Cheers to us Gen Xers!

Nat
05-23-2010, 08:21 PM
I find comfort in the fact that my generation is aging with me. I wouldn't mind getting to be a bit more immortal, but I wouldn't want to be part of those younger generations. I'm attached to Gen X, and I suspect I still will be when we're old.

I love that movie, totally and completely. I even made daisy watch it. Normally our age range (5-6 years depending on what part of the year it is and who's birthday) isn't so obvious. But it was obvious during that movie- it didn't resonate with her like it did with me, because I saw it with my two best friends in high school and that was going to be our life, and daisy was already in college. Sad.:|

Good morning 30 somethings!! It is definitely getting colder here in North East Ohio, can sooo feel that winter is just around the corner.. blah not sure how I feel about that, I like the snow when it is all pretty bright and crisp, but I hate it when its wet, sloppy and slick lol.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

30's is an odd and wonderful in between-ness for me.. Thank god I'm through my 20's an I'm dragging my heels about getting anywhere near 40..

I would go back to my early and mid 20's, but only if I was armed with what I know now... :blueheels:

I just turned 30 a couple of months ago, so I guess I post here now?

I fully expected turning 30 to be this horrible awful thing, especially after my relationship ended when I was 29, but so far it's been OK. I had a ball on my birthday, have made a really good friend that I've become really close to (like, we forget we haven't been married for 10 years close), and met a few new acquaintances. Hopefully it just gets better from here. :)

38!
People keep asking me if I'm freaking out about being so close to 40 but I don't get any reason to freak out. I plan on having a good time and enjoying life no matter the number. Have some plans murmuring about a bike across America ride in the 40th year in fact.

For me, it's that feeling of coming into your own, as a woman.

I'm 30! Hello 30's peeps :-)

The best part of my 30's has been living true to who I am with no regrets. I know my 30's are going to be awesome!!!

I just turned 30 last month. If you asked me when I was 25 how I felt about approaching 30 I would have responded in the most dramatic way.

I have grown alot in the last few years. I lost a signifgant amount of weight and found the career path I want. I have shared the last year with an amazing partner who supports me in all my goals.

At 29, I felt ready.. for the next milestone in my life.

Turning 30 felt like a stepping stone..felt like an endless wave of opportunity I am reaching for with open arms!

am 39 and running towards 40 quickly...where has it gone to?? seems the older I get the quicker it goes by...hahaha what is that crap all about...when I was young I couldn't pay time to get by quick enough and now it seems the opposite is happening...I can't get it to slow down :glasses:

I'll be 33 in September. It's hard to believe I got to 30 so fast. And now its 33. The time we have in this life is so short.

I'm turning 36 very soon.

I've been taking stock, and I'm not impressed with how I've lived the first half of this decade of my life.

I have things I want to do, and I'd better get doing them.

Initially I was not impressed with my first half either. Than I look back and think well that COULD have been a lot worse. But thankfully it wasn't. I learned to choose happiness though. I could have been sad and dwelled on several things, but being that life is so short. Not matter what they day brings, I choose happiness.

32 here.

My 20's were crap, and I fully plan on making up for that this decade!! I've lived a pretty full life the last two years. Some lessons are hard to learn.

<--------35 here. Digging my thirties. Its strange to really think about how old I am. I'm still a big kid. I look back at the past 5 years and think damn I really did those things. They make me tired Just thinking about them. Down side for me about being my age is the hangovers. I used to love to hang out head to a club or party with friends and never have a hangover. Now me and the little woman Would rather stay home watch What ever girly movie she makes me sit through and go to bed at 10. Ha well Maybe its not so much my age as it is My oh so comfy married life. Not complaining though its a good life!

I'd like to bring this threat back to life :)
I lately turned 30 and all my younger friends as me if I feel different. Society here says "30 is the new 20". I don't know, in some areas of my life I feel like 40, in others like 20 or younger - so what is it now, the magic of entering the 30s ? :D

come and share :):byebye:
