Every day I carry a plain, black, Jansport backpack. It was given to me by my first boss, nearly 9 years ago, when I was leaving that company for the one I work for now. Inside, I have my calendar, cell phone, wallet, bus pass, keys, and other things based on daily activities. Thurs I have choir music, 1st and 3rd Wed. I have have knitting or cross-stitch, Some Tues I have dance gear. I can't stand carrying more than one bag and it's actually the same bag I travel with. I can fit an entire weekend worth of clothes (including shoes!) in it! :)

'Pends what I'm doing.

Daily in pockets: iPod touch, mobile phone, lip salve, tissues (I am the tissue Meister!), small ring with door and bike lock keys, quite often a Buff, wallet and loose coinage...and generally my 'anti hot flush' pills. Clipped to belt loop a small bunch carrying small Swiss Army knife, shopping trolley 'coin', hand-cuffs key.

Cycling: Large sports bum bag (I believe you lot call them fanny packs) containing jacket and possibly waterproof, cycle tool, small tyre pump, peaked army hat and sometimes a book.

College: Huge Targus rucksack that has wheels which contains my laptop, various books, folders and files. Pills and potions, pencil case, ID card, voice recorder and microphone and my water bottle. It kills me to carry this on the bike but needs must.

By the end of my work day, my shoulders and arms are tired lugging all this around all day.

When i am not at work, i carry my purse which i change often from small to medium and back to small depending on the season and my mood.

In my purse i have just about everything you could think of including a small flashlight, short of toilet paper, even though i do have hand wipes. I refer to it sometimes as the big black hole.

I usually carry a bright bag of some sort...LOVE Coach and Kate Spade the most (but can't afford them :) ) and inside is my wallet...gotta have a checkbook wallet for my cards and such...my iphone, sunglasses and eyeglasses (both in their cases), car/house keys and anywhere from 2-8 tubes of chapstick.

For school I was carrying a big ole' black backpack but I have been scouring ebay for something a bit more feminine. I saw a girl on campus with this great brown leather backpack that also doubled as a messenger bag, most likely Italian as the needlework was quite intricate. Inside are whatever books I need for that class, 1-2 notebooks for notes and scrap paper and a binder. Sometimes I will bring my laptop or iPad but only if it's a long class. Oh, and lots of pens and pencils.

In my car I always carry my yoga mat/clothes, a Conway tool kit and reusable grocery bags.

I still carry my credit cards in my tiny Baggallini across my shoulder. I also have these small fabric indian medicine bags with corded shoulder straps I will wear for my cell phone and various items. I hate carrying a pursue for practical reasons.

I filter my water at home then each day fill up one of those two gallon igloo water coolers with a spout and handle. I carry this with me everywhere I go during the summer. I keep it in my car, next to my bed, desk. I drink a lot of water and like it very cold.

The OtterBox cases for iPhones/pods etc are fantastic, I use the Defender version for my 'pod. Relatively expensive but worth it to protect the expensive bit of kit it contains.

i just started a new job about a month ago so this has recently changed :D

standard purse contents: hankie, pen, notebook, book or kindle, wallet, hair ties, phone, keys, pill sorter with meds, sometimes lipstick.

for work i also take: security badge, screen wipes, baby wipes, two headsets, a whiteboard, erasable markers, eraser, hard candy, hello kitty lunchbox, travel mug, green plastic travel tumbler (the kind with a straw), and a plastic bag with emergency snacks.

If I don't have pockets and will need my hands free, I put everything in a small black messenger bag.

If I'm going somewhere that means I will have time to kill, there is always a book packed.

On Fridays, when I teach out of the house all day, it's all of the above, plus food for cooking lunch for the 30 or so folks in the school house ( I teach cooking/serve lunch) plus water bottles and layers for my daughter and I.

Other than that, I work from home, so I am relieved of the duty of packing myself up for a day.

Since last summer, I've been using a decent sized messenger bag, which is capable of carrying my electronic notebook, other important materials I might need for the day, and is super comfortable to wear since is has a fairly big strap that is padded.

There's also little pockets inside for pens, lipstick, tissues and a place to keep a back up supply of medicine I might need if I stay over night elsewhere, other than home.

Wow my pack bag has changed in the past few years!

I usually leave the house in the morning with 2-3 bags.

One is work things, files, folders, forms, wallet, key rings, vitamins, chapstick.

Second is lunch, snacks, drinks, tea bags and usually something in case of emergency, which happens often, that can cover for a dinner.

Third is if I'm going to the gym after or before work. That would be gym shoes or cycling shoes, shorts or leggings, tank top, and layer if necessary. Bottle of water, and a hand towel. Notebook and pen if I'm working with my trainer- she writes out my workouts.

Where do men put their stuff? I never wear clothes where there isn't a combined total of 8 pockets available. Problem is, I can never remember which pocket my keys or c.card are in but I'd rather do that then have to dump out my purse at a grocery counter checkout while the whole line behind me fumes.

I wear a safari vest (actually have several) in different shades... they have loads of pockets for keys, wallet, pen, tape measure, bandana, Swiss army knife, etc.

I challenged myself to see if I could function with a small purse.
HA HA it's part of my Marie Kondo Zen home training. I bought pieces I love and I'm hooked. I know where everything is all the time.

* Cell phone
* Cute change purse that holds credit cards, cash and my house key is attached
* glasses
* lip gloss
* a good pen
* Car remote in the inside zipper pocket

And that's it! My car can carry the extended version if needed. A bit anticlimactic post wise, but great for me in RL.

I carry a neck wallet on a chain that has only my medical insurance card (without my ssn) and i.c.e. info. I carry in my pockets pepper spray, cash/mugger money in a clip, cellphone, and an atomic lighter. I do not carry my house keys, blank checks, or credit cards. If I am driving, my drivers license, vehicle and gun registrations, and extra money, are hidden somewhere in my car.
