I thought it would be a good idea to talk about Thanksgiving. To see what you have planned, what your menu is going to be, what football game you are going to or are watching on TV, and so on and on. :thanksgiving:

Namaste,
Andrew

I will od on turkey too. :eating: But first I will go to Mass, then finish watching the Turkey Bowl (Loyola Dons vs Calvert Hall College High School - a tradition in Maryland for years). :football:

The day prior I will be dropping off food, and supplies to Bea Gaddy's Thanksgiving Day Program to feed the homeless. I always participate in feeding the homeless in some way. :candle:

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving (similar idea as Ezee) but it is our 3rd anniversary together so we will be celebrating that. We'll be having a Vegan/vegetarian meal (I might make the red velvet cake again for K since she liked it so much the last time).

And, I try to remember it as a day of remembering family, both here, there and nowhere.

Ezee and Linus -- It always makes me thankful when I see sentiments which mirror my own. While, I have had this holiday my entire life as it is the anniversary of parents wedding day, and as an "American," made sure my kids had turkey (I do not eat it). When the kids were little, I would remind them at every thanksgiving, the history and how this American Based Holiday was based on the manipulation and bloodshed of our Native American brothers and sisters. This is not a holiday to be joyous for, but to honor those who gave their lives, so they could sit at a table made of timber, which most likely seeded from Native American Land.

So, as a Jew -- I light an yrtzheit candle for those I have lost on the anniversary of their death, and as an American on thanksgiving, I give remembrance to those who had their lives taken, so we could eat turkey.

God Bless America (sarcasm)

Cynthia's mother and sister abmbushed us into Thanksgiving being at our house this year. Stress.

I am allergic to turkey, so we will be having tenderloin.

We ordered a new table, but it is not here yet, so we may be using TV trays.

Yeay.

I liked it the year we went to the beach and skipped the whole thing.

Will post the menu later after I ask Cynthia what else she is fixing. Heh.

Going to a friend's house. Having bacon wrapped turducken, stuffing, corn on the cob, green beans, Hawaiian sweet rolls, and cranberries followed by a hefty slice of sweet potato pie.

I've just been placed on the 'single' list by my partner of 12 years, 12 days ago. She moved us here 4 years for a job transfer; what's left of family is in Chicago, so my options are pretty limited.

I might just bake a turkey leg and make some instant garlic mashed tators :candle:

I'm not really down with the historical reasons behind Thanksgiving.

But I will be giving thanks to the universe on Nov. 26th, for sending us e.

I hope everyone here has a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. Please be safe, have fun, and eat alot of food!

Peace,
Andrew

PS: And if family fights start...remember to breath in deeply. It calms the mind. Guys, if anyone asks what stuffing was better, just say it was all good.

I'm cooking here, for us. Finished the shopping for it today. Looking forward to being in the kitchen tomorrow. Thrilled I don't have to do the dishes afterward. This year - I'm only cooking! Yay!

I'm usually working, but this year mom is really sick with a bug and pop is staying home with her, so I'm headed up to cook dinner for them !

I can be a real disaster in the kitchen.

Thanksgiving meets Fire911...it's always an adventure.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone !
