NCIS Fans?

i love TV, but usually not procedurals. i do like Bones, but rarely shows like NCIS. i don't care for any of the other forensic science shows. Very few police shows do it for me -- i like the Wire, but that's different. Oh i also like In Plain Sight because the main character is such a quirky strong woman.

ANYWAY, a friend told me to give NCIS a try. i was like, yeah, whatever. So i waited a year and then finally did check it out.

And while it's not innovative tv, i love it. The sexual harrassment banter of the first couple of years -- when Sasha Alexander was on -- annoyed. But otherwise, i have really enjoyed watching it on DVD.

Anyway, it's apprently a top rated show and has been. And it will soon start its 9th season, so i am clearly not the only one. i thought it was like JAG, but it's much better.

This show has wit. The characters may not be deep, but the cases are often truly surprising. And i like the fact that the characters are likable and like each other -- like Bones. It's not as good as Bones. Not saying it is, but it has its own charms.

Any NCIS fans out there? What do you like about the show? Which Director did you like best? What Tony moments annoy or amuse you? Who is your favorite character? All that stuff.

I love NCIS!!! The Director really doesnt matter to me, its Gibbs that makes the show hands down. Tony can be both entertaining and annoying, I guess it just depends on what Im in myself. lol As for my favorite character that is so hard!!! Abby is amazingly smart, funny and I adore some of her shoes. Ziva, however well she is just bad assed and strong.So I guess I will go with Gibbs first, Ziva second Abby third.

I'm a Mark Harmon fan, so I had to check out this show, but not until it was on a couple years because I wasn't BIG on TV watching for a while. When I first saw Tony, my first words were, hey he's from an ABC soap opera I used to watch many years ago( I think All My Children). I think I streamed the first couple of years I didn't see on Hulu.

So what does everyone think of the spin-off, NCIS Los Angeles? I like the characters on that one too. (not as much as the original, but a great way to spend a Tuesday night!)

I am not much for spin-offs they are just never the same. I tried to watch it a couple times and just couldnt get into it. I also tried to watch the new Criminal Minds......that really fell flat for me.

i agree -- McGee is great. i like the way that from the first, they didn't make him the bumbling nerd. He gets girls, and Gibbs clearly has a lot of respect for him as an agent. i like that they all are good at their jobs. They like and respect one another.

Even Ducky evolved from someone whose stories they'd dodge to the beloved elder in their midst.

i like the way that they long for Gibbs' approval and don't pretend otherwise.

i also like the fact that while there is some Marine hoo hawing, in general they don't overwhelm you with testosterone. The change from Kate to Ziva was good for the show although i like the actress who played Kate. The sort of shock the good girl banter between Kate and Dinozo was getting old.

You can catch "Kate" in a new show called Rizolli and Isles. She plays a medical examiner and its a very good show.

I think the characters are very interesting, that they are all vastly different, yet they are all part of an efficient team and they work well together.

The acting is great, the storylines detailed but well-paced.

The writing is GREAT, too.

All of them rock in their own unique way. I love that show. It is one of 2 that I watch regularly.

I will watch NCIS because of Abby. She's hot and makes me laugh.

But, I love NCIS: Los Angeles. All because of Hetty. For me, she trumps.

But even more, I'd still prefer to watch Criminal Minds or Law and Order:SVU

And all the other forensic type shows I watch.

OMFG, That is my favorite show ever. I'm not even kidding. I have all the seasons on DVD, and I never ever miss an episode of it. I love crime shows, but, i love that show. I really loved Director Sheppard, then she was killed. Made me sad. I do not like Director Vance at all. He annoys the shit out of me. I adore Abby in more ways than one. All in all, I am a total fan. :sunglass:

I am a big fan of NCIS....

My favorite character hands down is Abby (Pauley Perette) i just get a kick out of her.

I'm really looking forward to the Season Premiere on the 22nd of this month. We know that Gibbs will survive being shot. What remains to be seen is how the depression will affect him and his relationship with Tony.
