Drag King Curiosity

:moonstars: I don't know if this is the place to come, I consider drag kings a performance art... but there are a LOT of forums and sub forums to sift through. I don't want this to get too serious!

I'm curious of your opinion, I'm a hardcore femme, swagger, skirts, heels and all. But the drag king world is something I've always been interested in. I recently dug up a photo of me from college, theatre stage makeup, and my favorite subject thorough the entire semester was the fake hair and beards. I had been looking forward to it since I'd signed up for the class.

I'm wondering if it's at all possible for a femme to be a drag king or do you think it's just a butch dominated world? Am I less femme because it's something I think I'd enjoy? Are there any other femmes that ever toyed with the idea of being a King? And do the Butches find it less attractive in a woman who wants to cross dress as a King?

:moonstars: Right!? I think so too. ^_^ I used to do a LOT of acting in high school...and some in college... so it shouldn't be TOO hard... right? o.o I also have a lot of butch friends that have the swagger so I'll just make them teach me. ^__^

Also gotta get the binding thing down... I've got really awesome tits for a woman... not so great for drag. XD

By the way, Alpha, there is a VERY VERY popular Drag King Troupe in Boston called "All The Kings Men". It's how I got my start in dragging, winning their first ever Drag King Idol contest. Their main leader is very much a Femme and she pulls of fthe Drag n swag n femme perfectly. She is definitely a full fledge Femme outside of performance as well. She's the only femme in the troupe and rocks it out. Both on stage and off. You go girl!

its funny this has been brought up just now, for I have been thinking about this for myself. I am an older bodacious femme who packs. (gawd I love the way I am!) and I have in this past year, been breaking alot of personally placed boundaries. I have a friend who is a drag king...and he started me thinking. I would love to do some old timers..frank sinatra type cruisers.

dont be afraid to try anything. Its how we find ourselves. if we remain untapped, we can find ourselves wondering oneday if we are more like others wanted us to be, than who we really are....

I have been doing drag for *gulp* 20 years now...seems like just yesterday!

When Club Cassanova was touring the US about 10 years ago, of the 4 drag kings, 2 were femmes. I opened for them and they stayed at my house...we sat up for HOURS talking about the illusion and how it throws people way off to see them when they are not in drag. There is a documentary out there that they filmed. Google Club Cassanova....it's pretty cool stuff!

Yes, you could def pull off Justin Beiber but the name "Justin" (in my opinion) is overused. When you pick your name, make it personal to your personality. Drag names are a way to be your alter ego so have fun with it. There are no rules saying you cannot change your name once in a while to mix it up either. My main character's name is Ben Eaton. Alex Cash is good and here are some otha ideas: Collin Almuffs, Will Hung, Will Bedrock, Rod Packer, Ben Packen, Rex Sexton, Alpha Kahn, Alpha Abel, Alpha Alex (since you like Alex), Alpha Dean (Full of himself and thinks with his dick), Wayne Ker (one of my personal favs lol). I'm quite sure you can research and come up with you own name and I'm even more sure it will be great. I just LOVE talking about this shit! lol Thanks for bringing the fun back to me!

Geek all you want because I know I am, Kings are a world I've always been interested in since high school, but all the shows in my area are 21+ so I couldn't go until about 2 years ago... ^_^ I THINK my lip synching skills are above average...
