Trying to find my voice again on something besides poetry. Kindly review. Regardless of opinion I value each word. I thought perhaps it was time for some words to escape my notebooks.

Riley once held another use name when he had been more then a near mortal man. Sometimes he would wake still caught in the edge of sleep and hear it whispered in the shadows. Yet that had been millenia ago in a land across the sea from his new home. Like so many he had forgotten so much as he aged. Yet sometimes with startling lucidity the spells which once had shaped the storms and leashed the winds to his will came back. Fleeting like a breeze in summer but a darling reminder of better times. Tonight he could feel the storm rising just beyond the horizon and the taste of it upon his lips made him hard. Once the storms of this place had been like lovers for him. Tonight the memories were far too strong. He turned away fighting to not give himself to the wind with abandon of a mad man. He saw Aidan sitting with her back to the fire watching him with those winter sky eyes. He went to her to remind himself that he was mortal now.
Aidan saw the storm madness in Riley’s silver eyes making him see even more spirit then flesh then normal. She felt a trill of fear and a twisted delight as he approached desperate for touch. She knew that because of what she was she held a certain power over him if she wanted. She smiled as he touched her face with featherlight touches. He played a dangerous game holding himself tame for her. She leaned into him inhaling his scent of spice, smoke, and clean sweat. She kissed the thundering pulse in his throat and he gave a little shudder. His eyes begged her now for her to take control. For her to make him forget he was anything but a man.
