I'm sticking with Illinois and saying Chicago...cuz it aint Santa Monica !!!

OK, ok, ok...

Robert Redford Academy Award : one of them was for Ordinary People.
and the setting is Chicago.

Charles Manson : His son, Matthew, lives in Illinois.

Logan Square : is a district in Chicago
which coincidentally sits on the banks of the Chicago River...

It's gotta be Chicago...MMMM, the Chicago Chop House and listening to Blues in smoky, dingy night clubs !
Please let it be Chicago !

Oh, and the Chicago Art Institute...Fabulous !

I like how you'd tied things together. You missed one though. The reference to The Boss? Unless, of course, it's a general 'boss' and then it could be a mob 'boss' and then Chicago would fit.

Nevermind. Did it!

Logan Square doesn't work...not a nice neighborhood anymore.

The movie was based in Forest Park, but close enough to Chicago

The only reason Chicago wouldn't work is because if they stay downtown, the food is too much and the neighborhood we'd want to party in is called New Town. Not too many nice hotels over there.

Too expensive for what everyone talked about before.

Alright already.....rabbits with Hemis, people pissing and crapping themselves, all the guessing....have you ANY idea how bad we want to know where it is?

I am now taking any activity with whipped cream off the table....in another 30 minutes, I will be taking the lap dances off the table......in an hour, I will be in bed and forgot that I took anything off the table.

I am getting crazier than usual here!:beerbros: Where is that goat?

As in a comparison? It means comparing and deciding between like objects or similar things. Comparing apples to oranges would be like comparing dogs to cats. Yes, they are both pets and animals (like apples and oranges are both fruits), but they are of different groupings.

Or did I miss your mark completely?

We have played it once. There was alcohol involved.

On the bright side, we still have the instructions.

Since we will be driving (so we can detour in Nashville and hit Tops and Bozo's BBQ in west TN), i can manage to toss it in the car if you remind me LOL

Depending on how many people register, we might be able to afford to get another meeting room for Friday afternoon if folks want to have an afternoon of games.

Jack and I have about 20 different games and Apples to Apples is one of our favorite ones :)

What kinda game? How do you play? :)

Rules

Each player is dealt seven "red apple" cards; on each is printed a noun or noun phrase (such as "Madonna", "Canada", "The Spanish Inquisition", "Michael Jackson", etc.).

The judge (a chosen player) draws a "green apple" card on which is printed an adjective ("scary", "frightening", "patriotic", etc.), and places it face-up on the table for everybody to see. Then each player (except the judge) chooses a card that they think is the best match for the green apple card, and places it face-down. The judge shuffles the red apple cards, reads them (often aloud), and decides which noun is the best match for the adjective. This decision is subjective; the official rules encourage the judge to pick the match that is "most creative, humorous or interesting". Some might think it humorous if "Canadians" is played for delicious, and might give that player the point.

The player who submitted the chosen red apple card wins the round, and takes the green apple card to signify the win. All players then draw red cards until they have seven again, and the role of "judge" may pass to another person (generally going to the next player in line, though some rules have the round's winner becoming "judge"). Some editions of the game suggest discounting the last red-apple card played, to encourage players to place their cards down more quickly.

Each player is allowed a one-time only "switch-a-roo", which allows the player to discard their entire hand of red cards for a new set of red cards.
The winner is the first player to accumulate a pre-designated number of green apple cards; the more players, the lower the total.

of the few weekends I committed to work this year, the weekend of the reunion is one of them. Dang It! Business Partner's tickets/arrangements for Spain are already set, so sadly saldy sadly I will not be able to attend.

However: If I were to attend, one thing that I would really appreciate is a type of greeter/volunteer position. I am super shy at first, just need a little warmth to get me opening up and settling in. Maybe there could be a shy persons volunteer escort exchange. I would happily volunteer to be a temporary escort for someone else just as shy as me.

Not sure how to coordinate this type of thing, maybe a shy people's gathering area for the first night. And if someone could commit to being the escort of the hour, just to help shy people explore the place without feeling soooo alooooone in a big crowd. If you want to get really fancy you could have both a butch and a femme escort...

Not really an event, but thought this would be best place to drop in my two cents.

I like the idea of having a '3min intro' event. In this event everyone would share with each other a little sumthin sumthin about theirself without the added 'mating' thing. I would like an opportunity to meet everyone, cuz I am just a 'people addict' but I don't always know how to approach someone without conditions or reasons.

I also like idea of doing this dressed in our screen name character: for example 'frisky femme' might dress in costume of donned with 'toys'. :flasher: :superfunny:

Well, then you can ask away! Whatever it takes to get people mingling/talking! Maybe having a standard (agreed on) list of questions would help...1) Where do you live? 2) What do you do for your living/career? 3) What is our favorite food? 4) What is your favorite movie? or would you like to make a movie? (just teasing ;) ... or not... ;) 3mins can tell alot... ) you get the idea...

That's not always the case G, I know all of you when we hang out. I'm different with those I don't know at all. Lastly, I don't know if you realize it, but most of the time, I observe more than anything. It must be the Patron you drink G, lol. After a few hours, you don't slow down......Wolfy --------> ever the observer, lol.

When I started going to the So Cali parties, I was quiet. When we got to the bar and went to the dance area, I was in a good element. Some need drinks to get them going. All I need is music to tap my toes and I'll talk to anyone wanting to dance with me.
