What Activities Would You Like to See at a BFP Reunion?

In keeping with Wolfy's thread about *where* we would all like to see a Reunion, I was wondering if folks had ideas about what kinds of things they would love/not-so-love to have at a Reunion.

We definitely intend to focus our Reunion toward more community-based activities like a mini-conference with presentations, live thread chats, demonstrations, and symposium-style panels. I have also been kicking around the idea for a 3-minute speed-dating event for singles and possibly a Femme tea.

While I love endless nights of parties, I miss the up close and personal discussions that can happen when enough folks gather in person.

Ideas?!

Pajama party?
Gameroom with poker and scrabble?
Femme clothing swap?
Live marketplace for folks to sell their wares?

This may sound like a bad idea... but I would love to attend some round table moderated discussions for some of the "hotter" topics we discuss on b-f sites. Things like the Inclusion statement can be addressed and perhaps drafted. It's just sometimes easier to have the more pressing discussions in "flesh time" rather than trying to infer someones intent on line.

And of course, karaoke, meet and greet cocktail party (ies) , dancin, general mayhem...

Something I really miss from way back in my old days is just being "at a bar" with all like-minded folks. A big ol' dance floor, a bar, lots and lots of tables and seating........and that's it. Well, and bathrooms too, of course! ;)

Now, we wouldn't have to be at a "bar", per se........it could be a big ball/conference room at a hotel........and folks could just dress as they would if going for a night out.

No one working, no real interruptions.........just dancing, table-hopping, story-telling, etc...

Karaoke is also a lot of fun.

There is this amazing thing that happens when people sit around in a circle, talking about this stuff in person.

I love the Cabaret type thing where community members get to perform, there are so many talented folks.

I'm kind of ambivalent about the whole dress up thing. I like to be comfortable.

I think forgoing the Cheese Tray thing is good. If we have it at a restaurant, people can order stuff they actually like.

Love the speed dating thing, even though I'm not allowed to date.

The clothing swaps are excellent.

A raffle is fun, but it's a lot of work.

I love scrabble. Why, I'm the scrabble champion of the universe, or did you already know that? Perhaps you saw me on ESPN3962. But don't feel bad if you missed it. Alot of people did. It was aired during the olympics, at the same time the gold medal games for Curling was aired, so I'm sure most people were glued to their tv's, on the edge of their seats for that spell binding excitement filled event .
Perhaps we could play some adult arcade games. How about spin the Diva? Or slap the hand cuffs on the Diva?
Anyone else care to brainstorm on that one ?

Sherrie and I have done art demo's. at Conf. we attend, and we have had a ball in a room beside registration where you could dabble in making your own name tag.. stick on letters, glitter, animals, spongey letter things..Stuffff. strewn across tables with glue sticks, markers, etc.

Art show items could be donations, for sale $ to B-F Planet, or just for display.

This is an excellent idea! Kind of a home base, if you will. I know at the last bash, it was hard getting everyone together (let alone remembering to call everyone in your phone to let them know what the plan was), some didn't have phone numbers to text, and when we would go to do something, people felt left out. I know I can't remember to notify a slew of people to tell them what we are up to...if you know me, I have usually had a few cocktails and my memory is not what it used to be! :winky:

So many fantastic ideas...and crack ups! (my eyes are still watering!)... I've never attended such a Reunion or event and can't wait for the possibility!! There just isn't much that happens in/near Central PA... but I must say, our Pride was very beautiful and well organized and held right on the river with shade trees and lots to do. I loved the live music and artists from the Community. For activities before or after the party...we have a HUGE lake here where you can rent large pontoon boats that carry up 6 to 15 people...and they do a "Summer Blast Party" the last weekend of June every year where they put on a "Dock Dog Competition"... I'd love some outdoor stuff and would gladly be the Grilling Queen for any cookout.

One thing that would MAKE my day... to meet, converse and LAUGH with other Femmes where I don't have to fight to be recognized or accepted for who I am... not the invisible Femme who, to the het world and even my bio family, is never recognized as Femme...that would be so awesome!! A Femme Tea! I'd love to be a host.

While trying NOT to have an accident with the lack of turning lanes, I pull into a service station.
