Another Summer is past and today is day one of closed toe shoe season.

As I sit and contemplate the incarceration of my toes for another winter I am reminded of a poem I wrote several years ago....

Cute poem!!! I will miss my sexy little sandals but I will admit-I hate wearing flip flops. I even have another name for them. I call them "toe rapers."

I love all my sandals too, but even most of them go between my toes...love it!

I will miss sandals too...I will drag them out and wear them whenever it is not below freezing. lol.

I am going out to dinner downtown tonight and its supposed to be 30, so I actually have on tights anddddd closed toe shoes....UGH

I wear my flip flops year round here in CA.
I have every day ones, dress ones & ones with height for when I want to yunno be a tad taller.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my flip flops!

I wear mine all winter...well, in the house.

It's in the 40s this morning and my toes would cry if i took them outside all nakie.

I miss the warmth of the sun and sun kissed skin all ready.

Rain doesn't deter me lol - I actually wear closed toes thru the snow but have a pair of sandals I slip on at work.

My feet hate to be enclosed - I don't own a pair of boots lol

Boooooooooooooo.... not wearing flip flops breaks my heart! Y'all know I live in mine! I will normally wear mine year long... who needs to feel their toes anyway?! ;)

For some strange reason I wore tennis shoes today ~ I feel restricted!

Yanno, I had no idea what Flip Fop season was all about, so I just had to stop by and check....I figured it was safe to pop in since it was in the fun category:)...

Sorry y'all, but I hate flip flops! I have sandles for the summer that have a band around the big toe and around the middle of my foot, but they don't flop around and don't make that dreaded flip flop noise. And there are so many women out there who just shouldn't wear them.

I love it when the weather gets colder and I can wear my sexy f' me boots. They give me great height and they make me feel much more sexy then sandles. Yay boots!

I wear mine all year long in the house, but tempting as it is to wear them in the snow it's something like -45 million degrees C here today, so that is not an option. I have so many pretty pairs though and they get ignored during the winter, just hibernating at the back of my closet dreaming of the day they'll be chosen to adorn my perfectly pedicured peds. That's why I like that display hanger thingy. Actually I am in the process of making one right now. Cuz I'm crafty like that.

I love this. Maybe when you are done you can make me some hangers for my butchly flip flops. They won't look as pretty but the skulls and flames and such will look kinda cool. It won't take as long making them to hang in my teeny tiny closet. Not like the one you have. That one is so big that the painter guy got lost in it for three days. Here they are "slippahs" and you can wear them 365 days a year. Wear them to your job or to the beach--just leave them outside on the lanai because there is no footwear in the house. :theisland:

Nope. It's not customary to wear shoes of any kind in the house. Leave them at the door please. Bedroom slippers aren't very popular either. But have some sushi :sushi: it's really liked.

I'm sitting here with my flip flops on
I have to wear real shoes at work, but they come off when I get home
No matter the weather, it's flip flop weather inside my house
If my feet get a little chilly, I put socks on and still wear my flip flops inside

Honestly, I was happy when I finally found a job, but sad they didn't allow flip flops on the job
I think OSHA needs to go away...or at least away from OK or not bother with me

um Flip Flops are life. I hate shoes. Only on special days that I want to get all decked out and dressed up or if I'm doing something active I will wear shoes. Other than that forget it. I don't care if its snowing LOL

Except for when going out somewhere, we live in flip flops. People don't walk in shoes inside lest they be flops. If there were a single company who produced them, we'd be rolling in money like 45.

We wear flops or go barefooted indoors.

You're right about that poor steak. Heat the grill, toss steak on sear that side then repeat for the opposite side. Nice bloody, juicy, cold in the middle Delmonico (or other good cut) properly cooked steak.

Will even stay outside the kitchen telling them when to turn it and take it off the heat. Prefer to broil it myself. Don't enjoy wasting meat.:listening:

If I was still in OK, flip flop season would be going strong, but back here in my home state, it is coming to an end. Mornings have been cold and I've had to put gym shoes on (you may call them sneakers where you're from). My feet have screamed in protest, like they are being strangled. Winter in the Midwest is never going to agree with them. I keep tell myself, just 4 more years and I can get out of here again into a warmer climate state(s).

I will wear flip flops when its 45 degrees out here in my area of Texas.
but I don't always wear them due to my feet hurting, however I sure am glad summer is over, I am looking forward to wearing my cowboy boots and boots more.

Respectfully disagree. I live in flip flops year round indoors. Never out in any season. Anything with less coverage than docksiders is way too tacky.

The well dressed North Country resident is already prepping their winter boots and snow garments for outdoor strolls.

So far, I've amassed only one new garment. A down coat. Last years boots, tukes, and scarves are terribly outdated needing replacement. It's enough for one's outerwear to become muddy. Muddy and faded or (horrors) ripped just would not do.
