Oh no wait wait, don't cry. I meant baking is an art. Most people can't master it. A skill that takes many many years to perfect, and a mere novice would pale in comparison to your skilled culinary wizardry. I would be honored if only I had been more skilled in that art. I've tried , oh how I've tried but hence it's eluded me. So I have resigned to the fact that I can only dream of sugar plums dancing in my head or a stripper named sugar plum or whatever . Anyway oh great baker and CEO of the exclusionary bakers club of America bake on with your bad self.:byebye:

I think the cookie exchange is a brilliant idea!
Some of us butches don’t bake but we like cookies. So even though it’s a “cookie exchange” how about if us who don’t bake would agree to send say perhaps a bottle of favorite nail polish, favorite tube of lipstick, etc etc? All terms would be worked out prior between the parties involved. Anyone up for this?

This works for me! I will trade my famous M & M cookies (or yet to be determined alternative) for fave lipstick or my fave Bath & Body Works products (or gift cards from the same to make mailing easier).

Yep, that's consumerism and commercialism at their worst, plus a dash of inhumanity. People get trampled during those things.

persi!!! massive cookie baking day must happen after finals.. My list... (I'm on an oatmeal kick this year apparently.....) We need cookie sheets and cooling racks.. I -might- have one of each still unpacked. Bring the mixer!! (oh and I found the paddle and dough hook)
Oatmeal, white chocolate chip, cranberry..
Toffee / coffee / chocolate things
Oatmeal pumpkin (with real pumpkiness)
Chocolate chip with walnuts (maybe)
Lemon sugar....
Perhaps a few batches of dutch chocolate brownies..
Well reading all posts on kinds of cookies I was wondering if any of you skilled culinary wizards can take requests.
I was thinking I could really use some like this:
An oatmeal pumpkin cookie with chocolate chips almonds caramel cinnomin with maybe whipped cream.
Or a fat free pumpkin mango yogourt cheesecake cookie, with pistachio and peanut butter. Maybe some apples. With coconut sprinkles.
That way I get everything I like in 1 cookie and I won't have to eat so many.
Hey they don't call me Mr. Instant coffe or nothing you know.

Ok, I have decided!
I am going to bake my famous M & M cookies. For anyone who actually wants an alternative, you may elect to have chocolate chip instead but I am not sure which chocolate chip I am going to make-it may be chocolate chip with nuts or triple chocolate chocolate chip.
So, if you want to exchange cookies/goodies, PM me your mailing address and let's get this cookie party started!!!

I'll be baking:
1. Gammie's Natchez - my grandmother's pecan cinnamon shortbread
2. Date Nut Balls
3. Bourbon Balls - or maybe rum balls - I haven't really decided . . . maybe both
4. Kolachkis with apricot filling - This is my first time making these, a special request from my sweetie - but I'm a pretty good baker. Believe me, no cookies will be sent out without pre-approval from my official Cookie Tester.
I have to begin my baking this weekend, not sure how long I'll continue.

and a lot of people do make them for halloween as well....so the recipe may be quite similar...but my family always made them for just about every occasion....delicious cookies shouldn't discriminate against other holidays ;)
