GH,love the gost toons,real cute.Last nightI had ppl hear for coffee by time they left I was so mentaly drained that I still feel tired sorta like light vertago.I met these folks at a pflag meeting so I had them over for coffee and added another friend to come as well.As nice as they were and may well be really nice ppl...I got some really weird vibes from them,felt life they wereent really as nice as they seemed to be,could haven nerves or what ever but was strange just the same.Could have been mucury in retro messing with my head.

I wish I could see them and maybe see thier colors so I could tell you what I thought. You know, occasionally, I can see colors even online with people or shall I say, feel their colors, not really see. It's more of a sense I suppose. But, don't ignor your gut feelings. If you feel some bad vibes, I'm betting they are there.

Sometimes I get vibes from other ppl that are right on, and sometimes are wrong. You are not alone in that. I love sitting out on my deck at night, and watching the stars and planets at night. I agree with you about the draining people in life. I have no idea of who is or isn't. It is like I have no compass on who is honest or not online. In real time I am a pretty good judge of character. Online I struggle with communication. It isn't my best suit. I always use the example of trolls or negative people. They just drain me of my energy and my being & spirit.

I cannot remember my Native American Indian's name. I know it, but his name just escapes me. I wish I could remember.




It is hard online especially to know what the other party is feeling and even how things are said. Typing them down, even one on one, tends to go off center sometimes and lost without the tone and body language. Rockin....I get a lot of my messages thru my dreams, usually from passed family members or friends. I can tell the difference between a message and one of those odd ones...lol. This took me a very long time. Now I keep a pad and pen by my bed and write down anything I remember. This is the best way to track what would be a message or not.
Yup, there is a DEFINITE difference between "messages" and your own thoughts. There is a huge responsibility that comes with those messages, especially when they are the kind you have to pass on to someone else, but what a privilege it is to be one who was chosen for the task. :) When I get mine, I'm usually standing under a shower, with hot water beating down on me, and my brain not running like crazy. The Bermuda Triangle always fascinated me. It was thought that it was Atlantis years ago that sunk to the bottom of the ocean, and that caused the compass to spin uncontrollably or for ships to be hit by rogue waves. Something I've always done whenever I've moved into a new house is to smudge it and say prayers in each room, then whisper words of peace and love. Anger begets anger, peace begets peace, and love begets love. Sage is a marvelous herb for getting rid of negative energy. You can find it at any native american or new age type store. Just put some in a shell, ashtray, what-have-you, and walk slowly from room to room, doing as said above. Sometimes it takes several tries, depending on how much negative energy is involved, and sounds like you might have quite a bit you are dealing with. Just a thought! :)

There is a survivors and preppers thread.

I think it will be weather. I think all hell will break loose and everything will flood. I currently keep at least 3 months worth of food, always, have been stocking up camping supplies, an evacuation plan, get my shot guns in good order, seeds and raising lots of chickens. For my birthday I got some new camping stuff more portable. Over the next few months lots of rice and beans and a way to filter water without electricity.

I don't think it will be the end of times but the end of life as we know it now. I think all hell will break loose.

I think the earth has always changed and evolved. Weather is a big part of that. It's more a feeling. I read all the viewpoints and anything can happen but right now I think weather. I've had this feeling for a very long time that a huge tsunami will hit the east coast. I hope I'm wrong.

You are correct in seeing weather as a result of coming times..It has already begum...As to where the sunami will hit...There will be many not 1 in general..as with the freak weather happening around the world...Energy shifts and other forces tampering with the natural sceme of things are bound to effect all these things...We as a people have damaged the planet...some are trying to fix things yes...but honestly...The damage is very real and will show up in many weather issues.

A simple quake can make a shift to create enormious damage elsewhere...Thus the chain effect on weather.

So as to the question...I see massive danger ahead to all areas..not just one. And the east has already begun getting hit starting quite some time ago. But sunami...I can not say if that will be the case or if it will just be a result of the chain effect.

I believe the end as we now know it, Is!
Yes I have begun to prepare and also should everyone else.
As for when..I believe the ebvolution has already begun and will continue to do so.
I also believe that ever woman/man should have a weapon and also food storage..for your entire family.

A very small look at what happened when major damage has happened already should be a great warning to all of us what will take place in the event of major quake,flood etc.

End of days...Wow what a subject to think my happen in my life time.In my teenage years I never thought I would life to grow up because of the cold war,I have many family members who are military so u can emagine the talk and sometimes the lack of talk about what was going on...wich was worse.

Recantly my son and I talked about this,he is ex military,he said we should be looking for a fue acers somewhere for us to go,somewhere far away from town.Not that he really thinks the big bang with blow us to smithereens,but because we may well end up in something like the 60's riots or worse.What gets to me is ppl are very tired of the goverment screw ups..its makeing ppl mad and geting mader.Most every day normal people wont be the problem,it will be the fue who are in it for greed,meanness ,selfishness who will insite more of the same.Haveing a place to go will get sane ppl away from such things.

wow how cool is that? I think spiritual consciousness is a major part of this new world. Some people "feel" it and move towards it. Some fear it and accept the end of days and others don't pay attention at all.

My brother and some friends went for a walk this weekend, and ended up in a local cemetary. Its one I have frequented before, but it interested me to hear his report of the encounter. This location has had quite a bit of trama, due to a landslide a portion of the cemetary was ruined. Caskets and bodies had to be removed and reburried, in the past I have been able to feel the... unease of these spirits. However, when I aske my brother about his visit this time (he is sensative as well), he said it was very peaceful. They felt welcomed to the space. At one point he did see a form some distance away, he watched it for a while and then got someone else to walk with him to investigate, of course there was nothing there.

I am curious and interested in the change in atmosphere, and thinking I may have to go and see for myself sometime soon. Any thoughts on why this change could take place?

Well, they are still folks like us in their other body, but most of us can't see them. Like us, we like to visit places and people of interest to us. If one of these places seemed unfamiliar to us, or did'nt seem the same, we would'nt hang there as long. Maybe some folks there became confused where their bodies went, and decided to move on.

In my opinion and my opinion only ..I post this: BEFORE ANYONE WANTS TO SHOOT ME...lol

I personally believe and have wittnessed that yes there are those crossed over who migrate still towards the physical bodies. But most who have crossed over already release themselves from that shell.

They may frequent when a visit comes from a loved one to comfort them. But most have no attachment to it after crossing.

Some have not gotten to that point yet and look over it for a time. Or those who for whatever reason, have decided to stick closer by for a time.
There are those who have passed and not transeded as well.

Lady Pamela, I agree with you. When I go to cemetaries to see loved ones, I also place flowers & decorations on other people's graves. I want them to know that they are not forgotten or unloved. To this day, I can still see some of those flowers & decorations still there.

I had an interesting experience today. Was in the front room of the cabin, and heard my name called twice. It was definitely my name, and there was no one else around. Was coming from somewhere on the couch. Didn't recognize the voice, but it wasn't threatening in any way. Someone just trying to get my attention. Wish I knew what they wanted.

If people have missing pieces in their life, they will not have inner peace. That is something that hit me hard the other day when I received an email from a good friend of mine. She has made the decision to go straight after living a gay lifestyle for 20+ some years. She now has a boyfriend. I was basically told that I was doomed to hell, and mentally unstable being a ftm. I was beyond shocked at what I was reading. She went to state that all mtf and ftm were doomed to hell. And all queer femmes/butches/etc were game players. Can you see my jaw drop?! Then for her not to allow me to respond!

Now, let me start by stating that she lives on a haunted family property. She asked me to send her Holy Water, and religious material to read. So I did. She also asked me to send her Catholic icons for her to put in her home and car and truck. I did. Then she sends me this email out of the blue. Knowing full well I was having major cancer surgery. I tried to respond. I got a blocked email response back.

I just wonder if she is being taken over mentally by a demon. I am just shocked beyond belief. Anyone have any ideas on this? :tarot::moonstars:

She needs to realize that fear stimulates and creates more fear. This is how we bring things onto ourselves without realizing it. Yes it is true there are outter things that happen. But our fear creates more (Ectoplasm ) which is how things are able to manifest. We give it life so to speak and create the reality within so therefore we actually give it validity to do things.

In my many years of practice and schooling, I have realized it is not as difficult to keep things ( Nornally ) at bay by understanding and practicing this.

I say normally because there are the rare and few occassions that this does not allpy due to the energies or doors being opened previous to your entrance.

Some people go overboard in protection rituals..Thus subconsiously stating fear...Understand?

What I am saying is:

She is creating fear within herself by protecting and fearing all that is there so much.

I don't deny the happening because to her and those around IT IS/FEELS/LOOKS real...But I am saying she is fueling it and actually creating more of it due to her fear she has and is generating in others around her.

Many years ago I was going thure pain management and the dr.who was a threapist taugh many of us how to meditate,first I thought this was just plain stupid I wanted pain relief not to sit and blank out into where ever.As this was a requirement I gave it a shot anyway,be damed the stuff worked fine after I got into the thing.Just to see if I could controle my heart beat and reapiration and hopefully body temp one day we set it all up.I took a while but I managed to lower all of the above pretty darn good,all this was done with the threapist right there,I wuldnt try it alone or again cause it really surprised me how well it works if done right.

This is an exercise used by many types of beliefs and I also stated that as well.


I respect your knowledge and also your point of view as an individual but I feel I need to address something.

There are many ways to learn and many diffrent belief systems that in some, don't use or even believe in God. Some even believe in many Gods and Goddesses. Some are not even into a higher power over us at all.

It is a personal journey and thus each should be equally respected even if your views are diffrent.

I was putting this out in general as to not disrespt any persons beliefs or religion.

The practice of such gifts can be useful and are known by all areas of beliefs.

I love love love the frog thingy! :hangloose: It reminds me of my hundreds of frogs outside. Dino is not too sure of what to make of them. Ok now back to the topic at hand, I have the belief system that when dealing with the paranormal - no matter what issue of it - it does make my faith in God and my rituals (Roman Catholic and Buddism) come front and center.

I believe in forgiveness. It is something that anyone who is Buddist exhibits at all times and places. In fact, I think Buddists are more forgiving than most Christians honestly.

Let me explain some more a bit. Say there is an angry spirit or an evil spirit that is haunting a place. I believe in using Holy Water. I even carry it with me. I also wear Holy Medals blessed by a Priest, and touched with Holy Water. I tend to get Holy Water from St. Jude's Shrine. I believe in the healing waters.

I do believe in roaming demons of satan, and satanic rituals, and demonology. I fear it. I have seen it in action. I used to live in the country. I witnessed cross burnings of the KKK, and animal sacrifices left over afterwards. I moved immediately afterwards. I saw too much. It is burned in my brain, those horrific images. I cannot imagine what pain and torture the pets endured.

I also believe in burying the dead. A typical Catholic tradition. There was a haunting where a body was found, and causing chaos. It was because the person was not given proper respect. The person was cremated since the outward body already had decomposed quite a bit. At the burial site, a Catholic Medal of St. Michael and of St. Benedict were placed inside the urn. Then the urn was buried in a Catholic cemetary. The activity was stopped immediatedly.

Someone here has note in their profile that they are weaving their way thru time and space. I believe we all are. We are at different vibrations. That is why most people cannot "see" ghosts, orbs, or spirits. If someone wants to open themself up to this, go volunteer at a hospice. You will become very aware very fast of life on the other side.

Honestly, I think people always think about the "bad" stuff when they think about the paranormal. I personally don't believe in so called "demons". Thats a church thing and imo, a way to control the "flock". Negative energy, yes. But I believe there is more negative energy in the living then there is in the dead. The movies and tv shows that deal with "demons" are very exaggerated and made for drama. I'm sure there have been many a case of negative energy, but I don't believe this is the norm. I have many, many paranormal investigating Teams on my FB page and not one of them has reported any kind of negative activity. Yes, they hear the occasional "get out", but if you came into what I perceived as my house, I'd be telling your butt to get out too....lol. I'm not trying to put anyone who has had a negative experience down at all. I just don't think that everything paranormal has to be negative or scary. Ghosts are ppl too! :vigil:

Don't throw away your gift. The hardest thing to do is to stay grounded! Trust me, I know this first hand. Had a terrible attack in Gettysburg!
Anyway, speaking to Michelle Belanger, she told me and a few others there, that grounding was like lifting weights. You cant just move to the 100lb ones and expect to be buff that day! It takes time, effort and most of all, training. Maybe you offer too much of yourself for them to use. Or maybe you need to learn more shielding after you ground. Once you're shielded, you can allow certain energies in and at the rate you want them.
Michelle has a great book out called the Psychic Codex. Lots of great info and exercises in there. Keep at it. I'm sure there's a very good reason why you've been given this gift! :hangloose:

Shortly after my father died I woke up to find picture of him and me that had been taken when I was about 4. I am POSITIVE that picture was in my lock box under my bed.

To this day i have no clue how it got there. No clue at all. I have to feel that it was him trying to tell me that whereever he is he still loves me. When I stop time from moving and settle my thoughts to calm and breath in his love, I feel him. I know he's around.

Funny how so many things pass us by and we think they don't mean anything, but if we listen hard enough, and feel with our hearts instead of our minds, we can experience beautiful moments and they are everywhere.

Yes. I know when my sister, Jo, died something strange happened. Her wedding photograph that I had of her and her husband came out of a photo album I had. Truely amazing.

The shot glass...it did happen again. I wish I had a video camera to show it.

I want to know what is behind it. I used to drink beer in shot glasses with my late Grandfather. I use to collect them. But this one glass I use for my vitamins is very thick, and I just cannot avoid missing it in the morning. For some reason he was trying to connect with me. I was at his cemetary plot recently. I just am not making the connection between the significance. Maybe my breast cancer scare and my Grandmother (?). I have no clue. Any ideas?

Ok, I really try hard not to read to much into things. I'm not one to jump everytime someone says "i saw something strange".

But, today i had an experience that I can't shake and want to get "the gang's" impression on it....

96 year old lady, terminal cancer, family was all around her and she motioned for me to come to her. When I did she whispered to me "you know they are trying to take me don't you". It shocked me and i stood up and i said..."who, your family?" and she shook her head no and said....."you know who".

The thing is this....it was more than what she said. It was the look in her eyes. They looked straight through me. Like she knew me or like I knew what she meant. Am I reading too much into it? I am a nurse maybe she just meant that in a general way that nurses should know. I don't know, but I'll tell you it gave me chills and made me tear up. I think it was personal.

I do NOT want any spirits or anything paranormal come to me...and keep that door as closed as possible. Seriously. Long story but it is necessary I do this.

But Honey, I have to tell you what you already know..the newly born and the ones about to leave have the capacity to "sit on the gate", have one foot here and one foot there. I remember looking at my daughter as they put her in my arms when she was first born and I could SEE she had just left God or whatever you want to call it. Same with this about to die. They arent as tied to the earth world...and yes, they begin to see who will welcome them over.

The fact that she wanted to say that to you, makes me think she felt you would hear her and that she felt safe and comforted by you. She also senses you have some Sight and Faith that she recognized.

Say a prayer for her, sing a song for her, burn a candle for her...help her go over and tell her with a wink that you appreciated she shared her Return with you...

I believe that when we are given gifts from God we are to use them. You were not reading into anything with the elderly woman who was dying from cancer. There is a time for everything. She reached out to you because she is in transition. And she saw what she needed to know and told you. In turn, you know what to do.

I have a head injury, am not in good health, and have Asperger's. I have had so many paranormal experiences it would make you think twice about everything. And I mean every - thing. You are a nurse. I know you chose this job because of who and what you are. I know that you will "see" more things than you are willing to share. I know. It is what it is.

I say go with your natural instincts. They are right on.

princessbelle, whatever you felt the moment she said that to you was exactly what she meant. Don't question yourself. That's one of my big problems.
I have to agree with softness about having one foot on the other side and one foot here when someone is close to death. Another reason why so many start to talk to family members already long gone.
You also have a light. Not only being a caregiver, but your gift....it gives off energy which they are attracted to. This is why you felt as if she knew you. She knew your energy....she could see your light.
Has she crossed over yet? Maybe you can talk to her again?

Just got a call. She passed an hour ago. Immediately a song came to mind. Posted it on "What are you listening to" thread.

I see a lot of death in my career. I've held hundreds of hands as they have crossed over. Some I know go into the light with warmth and peace, you can just feel it in the room. Others, not so much, there is a darkness, cold and forboding feeling that is not pleasant.

I am positive my friend has gone into the light. I am positive that she is happy and at peace.

She gave me so much in the short time i knew her.

This is not a sad post. This is on the paranormal thread for a reason. We had a connection. And now, after her time has come and gone, I have a strong feeling that I have not heard the last from her.

I know that when I was in the presence of someone who was dying, and took their last breath, you nailed it. It is either peaceful or a sense of dread. One of the most life altering deaths I witnessed was that of my adopted father.

When I held his foot, I could feel his energy leaving his body. It became cold. But what was so interesting is what he spoke to us about what he saw and the beautiful music he heard. Nothing like here on earth. And the colors are nothing humanly made. So yes, I get it.

I always had a dream of a loved one about a week after they passed. My father came to me and showed me where he was living and some neat furniture with colored lights inside. He also gave me some words of advice that if I had heeded, would have helped me. There were a lot of people walking around in a hurry to get somewhere, just like rush hour here. My mother also came to me after suffering so long and I told her, "Oh Ma, you suffered so much!" And she replied, " But I'm better now, forget about it, thats all in the past."

Just got a call. She passed an hour ago. Immediately a song came to mind. Posted it on "What are you listening to" thread.

I see a lot of death in my career. I've held hundreds of hands as they have crossed over. Some I know go into the light with warmth and peace, you can just feel it in the room. Others, not so much, there is a darkness, cold and forboding feeling that is not pleasant.

I am positive my friend has gone into the light. I am positive that she is happy and at peace.

She gave me so much in the short time i knew her.

This is not a sad post. This is on the paranormal thread for a reason. We had a connection. And now, after her time has come and gone, I have a strong feeling that I have not heard the last from her.

Thanks all for letting me post about this, it has helped me tremendously.

I too have had the same experience as you have. It is about a week after some loved one has died, and I am fast asleep that they come to me. No words are spoken, but they show me that they are healthy & happy. Nothing like here on earth. It is a blessing to have them do this. It gives me a sense of peace that is awesome.

Although, I did post in a thread somewhere that I got off an elevator in a parking garage, began walking and smelled my mom's perfume. It happened maybe a month or so after her death.

Okay...here's what's been going on...

I came in to work tonight to be told about an "incident" happening last night. I night manage a domestic violence shelter, and the shelter itself is inside what my town calls a "historic home". It has new siding and new additions, but the original structure is very old. Not sure the exact date of the original build but I'm gonna research that. Anyway...

Two of the ladies who smoke were outside around 11:30p last night. We have outdoor nightlights that kind of illuminate the yards. They heard something walking through the grass, then the seat on the swingset moved, then they heard footsteps climbing onto the wooden porch steps. They said it was loud, almost stomping. Even the cats freaked out and ran away from that side of the porch. The footsteps then walked to the other side of the porch, down the steps, and continued to stomp up the concrete stairs to the gate where they stopped. The sensor lights didn't come on, but they could see the swing moving and hear the footsteps, and they both "felt" the air get a little cooler when the footsteps were near them. One lady had never experienced anything like it so she ran in the house. The other lady is fullblooded Cherokee so she understood what was going on, and said it had an "evil" feel to it.

I've heard from staff and a couple other ladies that sometimes they hear footsteps on the stairs inside the house, and a few other odd noises and "feelings". I haven't really noticed anything but noises, which at the time I attributed to maybe a resident moving around late at night, but I'm gonna start paying more attention. I also thought it was just my nerves when I first started, but when I went out to smoke late one night I didn't even finish my cigarette because I felt like I was not alone, and had an odd feeling of fear. I assumed it was due to the job itself but now I wonder...

I shall keep you posted if anything else happens...

I had an interesting experience on Thursday...

As I was leaving to drive to the mountains for the holiday, I was distracted by a huge flock of blackbirds outside my apartment. The woods were absolutely full of these birds.They were flying around me and from tree to tree. And were really loud too. It looked like one of those huge migratory flocks was filling the trees. There were hundreds of them. It was so cool and somewhat hypnotic. I could not tear myself away and watched them for at least ten minutes. When I snapped to and walked around to my car the birds started to fly away. Naturally I had to watch this too.

I've seen these huge flocks before but have never seen them land anywhere but power lines or in open fields. It was like something from a Hitchcock movie. I was able to take some video with my phone - you can hear them better than you can see them.

Call me crazy but I think these birds were sent to me. Watching them delayed my departure by about 30 minutes. As I headed out Billy Graham Parkway I encountered an ugly 4 vehicle wreck (3 SUVs and a car) that looked about 30 minutes old. The whole scene gave me such a chill it made the hair on my arms and the back of my neck stand up. I believe if not for the distraction of the birds I would have been in that wreck.

MasterWolf...This is something that happens to many people who do ebergy work, myself included.
People do it to diffrent extremes such as lights flicker or shut on and off, watches not being able to be worn, tv's and stereo's turning off or getting static etc.
There are even more extreme with other abilities such as in those who hold pyrokinetics or other such abilities and are in the learning stages of it.

I personally have had many things happen which alot wrote off as spirits..lol
It isn't spiritual activity when you have generated it..other than your own...lol

I can not wear a watch because it shuts down. Lights go out etc.

People around me have come to realize this is just part of me now..ha They say things like..hey get away from the stereo your messing it up...lol

Anyway, in answer to your question...yes it happens to others alot as well when the energy is high.

It was a lively day at the office today! I kept hearing people talking in the hallway outside my office, doors opening and closing, people on the stairs. Pretty normal stuff except when all this began I was the only one in the building. I even went for a little walk around the floor just to be sure. At one point it got so "busy" that my boss did the same thing and the dog was really upset for a while.

1. Purdging or throwing away items you no longer use, is supposedly good luck for you. You are throwing away items that a spirit can attach itself too. And most times it is evil. So by purdging it is bringing you good luck.

2. Fireworks/throwing them (I have no idea of what the name of the firework is that they throw) is supposedly a ritual of keeping evil spirits away.

My (psychic/channel) ex had the same problem with light bulbs. Seriously. After a while, I'd make her walk around the house in the dark or with a candle. I could literally JUST change the bulb and it would burn out above her. Lightning storms with her in the house used to scare the beejeezuz out of me. *shrug* She walked with a lot of energy and was a gifted channel/healer. I tend to think healers have that effect on energy surges and the like.

I love watches. I used to collect them as a hobby. However, I rarely wear a watch. When I was just a youngster, I would breakdown the back of a watch, and stop it from working. I can't even remember how many Timex's I would return, and I would be just be given something like gift card for a new watch. Now I can rarely keep a cell phone on me. For some reason I loose them. Not intentionally. I just can never keep it. As for driving or walking or whatever, if I come close to an over head light on a road, it goes out. I have some friends who will joke with me because they can tell which direction I am going by the road crews fixing the over head lights. Disney World hated me. They were doing nothing but replacing over head lights wherever I went.

Well, I didn't think I'd be posting in a thread like this. I really haven't had much to post about these sorts of things, even though I grew up in and hail from what is probably recognized as one of the most haunted cities in the United States.....Savannah, Georgia.

Last night was Halloween. In the past years, it's become a bit of a tradition between my Pop, my stepmother and myself that we'd meet down at the casino for dinner and a night of gambling, as an alternative to staying at home and handing out candy to the trick or treaters. Well, as most of you (may or may not) know, my stepmother had a massive stroke in September and Pop has had to make the difficult choice of having to have her placed in a local care facility because he cannot take care of her himself at home. So, last night, Pop and I met at the casino for our evening meal. Just him and me. I want to say that, over the past years that I've lived in Las Vegas and been able to spend more time with my father and stepmother, I've come to know them both, as people, much better. I'm a lot like my Pop in many ways, introverted and pretty shy in my ways, keeping a lot of my thoughts and emotions to myself, so it's just been in these past few years that I've really come to get to know my father as a person. He's quite a guy!!

So, to get on with my story.....

Mother and Pop divorced when I was 12, going on 13. Pop moved out of our big house and eventually bought a small house in one of the old established neighborhoods in midtown Savannah. I researched his house a bit and found that it had been built in 1922. It was a simple frame house, only 1 story, with 2 bedrooms and one original bathroom. It had a tin roof, of all things, and you could hear the rain plinking against the tin on quiet rainy nights/days. Pop had another private bathroom added to his study, which was off of his bedroom, after living in the house for a year or so. My sister and I would visit him regularly, but mostly me, because my sister took the divorce much harder than I did.

After I was discharged from the Marine Corps, I lived with my father for 2 years in that house, while I worked at a local television station. I was living my "party years" and was having a great time working and spending many of my evenings at the local gay bars. My father hadn't retired yet and was still working for the US Dept. of Agriculture as a research scientist and he had his own social life and professional activities that he kept busy with. On Saturday nights, he'd play poker with the Chinese Club and would be gone until the wee hours of the morning. I'd hit the bars. Although I loved to party, the main reason I'd head to the bars every Saturday night, in particular, was mainly because I felt very uncomfortable in Pop's house at night, particularly when he wasn't there. During these years, Pop had a big, loveable black Labrador Retriever named Nani, but I called her by her nickname, "Booger". She was well trained, friendly, smart as all get out, and just loved to spend time with our family. She also felt and saw "things" in that house. I witnessed her, on many occasions, stalk things that weren't visible (to me), bark at "nothing" and sit and tremble in front of unseen things.

Last night, at dinner, the dinner conversation with Pop rolled around to memories of Booger and that house in Ardsley Park. After all these years, I told Pop about how uncomfortable I'd felt in that house when he wasn't around, and how I watched Booger's reactions to things that were unseen. I finally just came out and asked Dad if he had ever felt uncomfortable in that house, or if he'd ever seen or felt anything unusual. I expected him to say "no", so you can imagine how shocked I was when he stopped eating, put his fork down gently, then looked up and said, "Yes, I have. I was awakened out of a dead sleep one night to see a figure standing beside my bed." He went on to say that the figure then disappeared, right in front of him, as he started to get up. He thought he had had one of those vivid dreams, as they call them, but decided that he had probably seen something paranormal.

Even thinking about that house now kind of gives me the creeps. I know there was something in there, but I don't know what it was. I think Pop saw it and I'm sure Booger saw it many times. I just know that I felt it, because that's how I experience these things.....I feel them. One of my friends, who is a self-described Medium, says that the reason I have never seen anything is because I don't want to see them. She's right. I don't want to see anything, so I shut down and don't open myself to visual manifestations.

Maybe, one of these days, I'll happen to see something in the hospital where I work. I hear the stories all the time about others' experiences, such as call lights going off in empty rooms, disembodied voices and "shadow people". It's all so creepy. I keep telling myself that I cannot really be a "spiritual" believer about my faith without believing in the existence of other kinds of spirits. I haven't reconciled this thought yet.

Anyway, that's my Halloween ghost story.

What I felt while reading this was fear. Sometime throuout your upbringing you ADOPTED fear of the unknown. Or took on the belief from a christian based belief of evil. Don't worry many are the same...smiles

I loved the fact you were willing to share your story reguardless though. Thank you. It just may help another going though the same one day..Ya know what I mean.

I worked many years in the medical field as well and know exactly all the paranormal that happens in there. Actually in a care facility was the first time a spirit materialized to me and I didn't know it was spirit..lol
I was shift change and I had just looked at the log book and seen everyone was doing well. So I proceeded to do rounds.

I stepped into the restroom first and in there was a woman. Bright orange polyester suit on with a paisley muti-colored scarf tied around her neck and flowing down.

We smiled at each other as I went into the stall.
And as I came out, I was going to say hello and ask if she knew this was the employee's restroom. But she was gone. I didn't even hear her leave.
Though odd, I let it go.

So I started down west hall and felt the odd feeling again. Asked my co-worker to do the hall with me because things felt odd.
As I aproached the second room, a 106 year old man we all called grandpa.
"Which btw had suposedly been in the dining room eating last shift, we seen he had passed. They had lied in the log books.

Long story short, I was cleaning his stuff out to prepare for family after getting him ready, and in the top drawer a picture fell to the floor as I was cleaning it.

I picked it up and it was the woman in the bathroom. Same clothes, same smile, same everything...Freaked my lil world..lol

I asked his children who the woman was and they said, OUR MOM. She had passed many years ago.

The moral to this true story is this:
It scared the crap out of me at first because it was unknown to me in that degree...But afterwards it was beautiful because not only did it validate to me that this was her coming to greet him. But also I was able to help others know she had come to greet him.

Things aren't always how the apear to be. In many times since I have been spiritually working with others, this has been a lesson over and over shown to me.

I just had a quick question, really mostly out of curiosity, Anyone else who is sensitive, do you ever have issues where there are certain people you just can't be around for any period of time or even certain places you can't go because the energy within them is so negative it just completely taps you out?

Yes i did get the info i was seeking. Makes me sad, but i had lost a little faith in this person, so, the show must go on.

As far as your question......a big ole "yes".

Many times i get the dark, almost death feeling around folks. I can just stumble upon someone in a store and i've changed lines before when someone like that was near me. Once i had a feeling like that from a neighbor who wanted to be my friend. I had to nip that real quick. I think "that feeling" is there for a lot of us more than we know. If we really stop and think about them and "feel" them, we can tell pretty quick the dark from the rest.

I also see colors and the darker colors always make me steer clear from certain people. Always has, even when i was a small child.

We'd both been haunted but I, as always, can't help but think there must be a scientific explanation (actually there's loads), she on the other hand was a lapsed Catholic, so believed ghost were lost souls.

I love weird things. I even love being the weird thing, but not always cause it gets tiring... but that is not the point of my story. Chiming in with my :2cents:

In my experience there are many types of 'ghosts'. There are psychic traces for instance: Gramma Jane walked from the well to the house every day for xxx years. OMG we see Gramma Jane walking... I think we leave energetic trails simply by the amount of energy we expend doing something repetitive. Another instance... the dead bride at the top of the stairs... trauma can also leave an energetic impression, IMHO.

I accept that some ghosts are tortured souls. I have used my compassionate depossession training on many houses over the years. Oddly, or not, when I address a 'ghost' as a human, engage with said 'ghost', get help for said 'ghost' to 'go to the light' (or wherever they are from) ;) the house always calms down. And there are rarely ever ghosty events again.

There are load of explanations for loads of things. And there are tortured souls.

Yes and Yes.

Can others tell what it is about said person that might creep them out?

Sometimes, my body reacts so strongly to places, I get physiological responses. Sweaty palms, heart racing, tight throat. I have been able, over the years, to usually pin point what my responses reference. I remember once going to houses with my sister, when she was house hunting. I went into one basement and I got TOTALLY CREEPED OUT. I had visions and knew a particular room had been used as a place to beat the wife and kidlets. So, I casually asked the realtor some leading questions... and from her responses could piece together that that was exactly (or as near to exactly as I could deduce) what led to the divorce, and splitting of matrimonial property.

Sometimes, people are just so unlike me, my body tells me. Sometimes, I instantly can't stand someone. And I never know why. And sometimes, I see others react very strongly to me. It makes me wonder if they sense my 'helpers' and they are afraid of them, or ... insert any other reason here.

Or it could just be that I am super cute with dashing blue eyes and they want me so much, can't have me, and have to run away... that could be it... right?? :cracked:
