Welcome Handsome to the Planet and our thread! A lot of people from that other site are coming over here. The moderators stop all of the drama and make it a nice place to come, chat and meet new people. If I had to pick my favorite beach in Florida, I would have to say, that it is Flagler Beach. That beach has Coquina rock beaches and you cannot drive on it. It is just half an hour north of Daytona Beach on Atlantic Avenue. Even when I lived in Daytona Beach, I rarely went to the beach.

Good Morning MS,

I completely agree with you. I know, that until the day my dad passed away, he was haunted by what he saw over in Vietnam. I am thankful to be able to walk down the street and know that my freedoms have been protected for so long and by people I will probably never meet. One of the guys who lives here in the apartment, is a veteran from Afghanistan. His cousin was telling me what this guy has gone through and why he will wake up all hours of night, screaming. My dad and grandfather, were veterans of the Vietnam and WWII wars, respectively. When my dad passed away, the soldiers who come to represent the US government, handed my dad's burial flag to me. I remember, my knees buckled out from underneath me, and someone caught me. Back in February of this year, my middle brother returned that flag back to me. My oldest brother hid it from all of us one night, while he was drunk. We don't know what happened to my grandfather's burial flag because of this. I have a lot of respect for our veterans and most of the homeless people here in Orlando, are veterans. That is why, I always donate money to this Veterans group and I am proud to say, that I am US citizen..

It i smy hope the roomie & I move back that way next year....you have to drive so far to get to the beach here in Jax....a good 40 min. Riverbanks Zoo is awesome especially since they added the botanical garden. I went there a few years ago when I was down visiting my mom. I haven't been since I've moved here though. You are very welcome

I know about this. My mom is half Irish and German. I burn and that is why I had to stop going to the beach and limit my exposure to the sun. My shoulders would get 3rd degree burns on them and to this day, I have to be careful.

i was Zimmy and i took down some of the fence too. i stopped at the dump on my way home from work this morning and unloaded the last of the wood. The square of dirt is where the shed stood. I'll be taking that gate down too and replacing the old wood picket fence with a chain link.

i was Zimmy and i took down some of the fence too. i stopped at the dump on my way home from work this morning and unloaded the last of the wood. The square of dirt is where the shed stood. I'll be taking that gate down too and replacing the old wood picket fence with a chain link.

i spent most the weeking hiding from some strong wind here then it was finally calm so i burned weed away from my fence lines. then finally had a chance to work on my truck and check out the 4x4.. gawd i luv this truck. cant wait to paint it and post it! its ugly right now with all the primer and body work stuff.. but its turning so cool! Karma doesnt like this truck much yet.. it doesnt have a center consel for hime to sit and watch everthing and the seats are to low for him to look out the window without having to step on the arm rest. lol so im looking for a set of bucket seat with a consel to put in for him.. "pain in the but"

I woke up this morning and went for a short power walk. I took my time, since my ankle is bothering me again, thanks to the heels I was wearing. It was slow again lastnight, so I spent about two hours reading different online articles on Theodore Roosevelt. I am going to bring a book with me tonight and a huge bag of French Roast coffee with me!

CF, have fun at the pool! I am going to be taking my oldest niece and nephew to the pool on Friday, while my stepdad fixes my car. Matt and I are going to be looking at apartments this weekend in hopes of finding one that won't cost us $490 each for rent.

I had a good weekend filled with Nascar, went to the Nationwide race on Saturday and the 600 on Sunday evening. It was awesome. I went with Miss Scarlett so she could get her redneck on, lol. The previous weekend we went to the Truck race and the All-Star race, Blade went with us to those, we all had a blast.

So sorry about your ankle...that sux when one is trying to do some power walking, or even regular walking, for that matter. Have you tried some sort of ankle strapping or splint to walk with...to stabilize it and give some support to it? The ankle braces, wraps are in most pharmacy sections of drug stores, Wallys, etc. Just suggestin', ya know.... I am still waiting on my texts from a few days ago...<smile>...go on and blow me off huh? lol...You have to work this weekend? Isn't it "FamilyDays" there???? Wish I could don my red teeshirt andgo but am not able to walk the park...sigghhh...have my own electric scooter but no way to haul....sigghhhhh...need me some buddies....<smile> to help me....enjoy the day and take care of that ankle....don't want to damage any further and suffer in later years....<smile>...later hon....Clay

Good morning Ms. Cuddly...I am doing good. Thanks for asking! I hope you get the "sun fix" today...lol. Seabreeze antiseptic for acne is great to put on after too much sun...cools it down and takes sting right out. You want to be careful using anything with oils as it will "seal" over sunburn as it clogs pores and holds the heat in..the seabreeze will cool and open pores to let heat exude....just sayin'....<smile>. It is going to be 90 here today...and a scorcher...woot! woot!
Hey Zimmy & CF....there is an all women's handcrafted art show this Saturday at St. John's Beach Pier Pavilion on St. Aug. Beach off A1A form 10am to 5pm...is awesome with about 100 to 200 women vendors, come out and support our "family". I want to go but not alone...anyone want to go???? This is its 13th year!!! Heya Clay,

No I'm not blowing you off. I'm not allowed to use my cell phone at work. I've tried the ankle braces and found they hurt to much. I'm just going to wait until my health insurance kicks in and then go to the podiatrist. I don't celebrate Gay Days. They are more for the gay men than lesbians. I went to Disney one year and saw how a gay man was talking to a young boy, who had rainbow Mickey ears on. It took my friends dragging me away so I wouldn't tell that jerk what I thought of him. I like to celebrate Pride. It's more fun and everyone gets along.

I'm watching the show, "How The Earth was made" on NetFlix.

I need to start getting ready for work, woohoo.

No I'm not blowing you off. I'm not allowed to use my cell phone at work. I've tried the ankle braces and found they hurt to much. I'm just going to wait until my health insurance kicks in and then go to the podiatrist. I don't celebrate Gay Days. They are more for the gay men than lesbians. I went to Disney one year and saw how a gay man was talking to a young boy, who had rainbow Mickey ears on. It took my friends dragging me away so I wouldn't tell that jerk what I thought of him. I like to celebrate Pride. It's more fun and everyone gets along.

Did I cause you to pass out over how much money I pay in rent? My job is training me in the priority services department tonight. Matt found a two bedroom apartment for $800 a month. That is more in our price range than $980 a month at the complex he lives in now. I'm sleepy from my turkey sandwich that I had for dinner. I can see a cup of coffee in my future.

It is going to be a Starbucks kind of day! I cannot seem to wake up..I was the only PBX operator lastnight and I ended up laughing at my supervisor lastnight. I didn't know she was diabetic, so she asked me if I could go pick up a strawberry milkshake for her. When I came back with it, everyone asked if it was for her and I said yes. Everyone, started yelling at her and told her she wasn't supposed to have the milkshake. They also trained me on the prority services desk lastnight and gave me a buttload of material to read.

I hope you all had an awesome Memorial Day weekend, did something fun or just hung out with friends.

I had a good weekend filled with Nascar, went to the Nationwide race on Saturday and the 600 on Sunday evening. It was awesome. I went with Miss Scarlett so she could get her redneck on, lol. The previous weekend we went to the Truck race and the All-Star race, Blade went with us to those, we all had a blast.

Thank you HD! By the time, we finished looking at apartments, it was to late. So, I am going to try for next Wednesday. I love to go swimming in a pool over the beach. Matt and I ended up deciding to stay in the current apartment complex and the front office worked with us. We are going to be moving into a two bedroom one bath apartment for $905 a month. I am making lunch right now and I am thinking of taking a nap this afternoon. I am exhausted! I will trade you the Florida Beach for those woods that are in that picture...

She could be that to. I will tell you, the strangest breed of dog that I have ever come across was when my mom's blonde Yorkie got her black Lab pregnant. Those puppies were a mix of both parents, but oh so adorable.

I am glad to read that Karma came home today! I had yesterday off and decided not to do anything! How long will he have the cast on? I can honestly say, they are our children. I had a cat, named Symba, since he was a huge orange tomcat, that got attacked by either a dog or a raccoon. I took him to the vet and I spent almost $500 on him to have surgery and remain at the vet's for a couple of days. He was worth every penny that it cost me and that is why I am thinking of maybe getting a kitten when Matt and I move. I do believe Athena needs a play mate!

Karmas up an bouncing around on his cast like nothings wrong... yesterday he stayed pretty quite. lay on the porch watching me play with the truck only opening and i to look if i droped a wrench or made an unusuall noise. still working on the truck i started on the suspension rebuild and found while i had so much apart there were several other thing i should go ahead an replace.. dang i had to order parts so im kind of at a stand still until they get here. guess ill have to clean house or do laundry or something..sucks i dont share some of this with a partner. oh well whatevers meant to be.. maybe theres a lesson in this for me.

Holli went with me last year and ended up having to leave early because the heat was too much for her...being an ancient dog and all. I think this pup will love it.

When placing an ad on a dating site normally people express their vary of interest from things they like to do on dates to what they like to do in their down time.

This person is looking for someone to go on dinner dates with, and for walks on the beach, but it doesn't mean that is all she/he is interested in doing, or does it sound like she/he is just looking for someone to only play farmville with.

I don't think it's sad at all that this person enjoys playing farmville. True, I don't think its appropriate on the first few dates but I don't see anything wrong with it as long as your enjoying each others company beyond that.

I enjoy playing Wii, I wouldn't play it on the first few dates, but It would be fun to play it with someone I have been dating, and I enjoyed beng with.

My supervisor is just being really anal retentive about everything. I was never informed that there was a policy in place, that states, no one other than a supervisor can respond to a manager's email. I responded to the front desk manager's email yesterday and my supervisor read me the riot act. I just sat in my cubicle for the rest of the night, not talking to anyone. I am going to ask the HR department on Friday when I go back to work, if such a policy exists. If it doesn't, then I am going to the director of my department and talking to her about it. I am not sure what this woman's issue is with me, since I haven't done anything to piss her off in the four weeks since I have started. If this policy does exist, then I will ask them to show it to me; since it is not listed anywhere in the paperwork that I have been given. I am sorry, but if I see something that is going on and it isn't professional, then I will step up and say something, which is what an open door policy is. I had the girl for priority services say something unprofessional as well. These two women, must be scared of losing their jobs to me and anyone else who has a brain and think outside of the *box*. After my 90 days is up, I will more than likely be looking for another position within the company to work.

I am off today and tomorrow and I am taking it easy.

Good Morning Everyone! Yesterday I had a leak in the pipes of my AC and water got all over the carpet in front of my utility room and hallway. Hopefully maintence fixed is but my rug is still wet. I also went to the grocery store and went to pick up meds. I won't say what else I did because Cody will say that I got into trouble lol Today, I'm going to do some cleaning and groom Goldie. I'm also going to be checking out free webhosting sites....I usually use Bravenet but thats changed alot so I have to find some place free where I can move my website....right now all the places that I've gone to is confusing.

Ask your apartment complex if they have a shopvac you can borrow to get the water out of the carpet. And spray some bleach water on it to kill any mold that may have started to grow.

alrighty .... i have landed in the Ft Smith , area but on Okie side... had a nice mex dinner, went to casino, took out $40 , played in 20, got up to $37 m lost it, but walked out with my other $20 , and bought a feather .. I love it..

I would ask your front office if they will have someone come out and professionally clean your carpet. That much water will cause the padding to become soaked and mold can grow. I know from experience about this. When Hurricane Charley hit Orlando, the French doors on our apartment blew open and the carpet got soaked. As a result, we had black mold growing and that is when I came down with pneumonia.

I do believe, Cody, is going to need either HD's or Domn's help in handling us two...hehe..

Cuddles: She is absolutely correct. If you happen to have homeowner's insurance they will replace that carpet for you. If not the office is responsible for that. Black mold is NOT safe..for you, or for your pets! That carpet needs to be replaced totally.....ASAP...wouldn't want you to get sick, my friend!!!
Zimmy will have lifelong problems since having pneumo from black mold. Folks use respirators working with that stuff, it is THAT dangerous!!! If I weren't so far away I would come and rip it up for you...ASAP! It is SERIOUS stuff, honey...don't play around with it...please? Keep me posted on the progress from the office...hugs....Clay

The pipes that carry excess moisture from AC to outside...those tend to get clogged with mildew and mold inside of them...IF not cleaned properly and with regularity. You should ONCE A MONTH pour a mixture of bleach water through them and that helps keep them clear of mold and mildew. If not done, the stuff clogs the drain pipe, and eventually builds up and you would be surprised at how much water can come out when it backs up like that. I always keep a small, inexpensive wet/dry shop vac on hand just for such problems. That happened to us in our last rental, before my partner died...was like a pool in our LR...almost 2 inches of water...I vacuumed and emptied the hopper three times...anyway...
The pipe is usually inside right by the AC unit in most places....if your unit is on top of building then the maintenance SHOULD have done this preventative for you!!!!

Renters insurance isn't that expensive...at least here in NC it isn't. i pay just under $120.00 per year for excellent coverage through Travelers. Talk to insurance agents to make sure you have proper coverage and to get some quotes...buying insurance online isn't always a good idea.

im thinking about trying a set beings the tire size on my project truck is very big/aggressive they run over 200 a tire. i can get a set of remolds for 365. hmm hope im not waisting money. anyway the truck is coming along beautifuly.. its a strong MFer! im very happy with her and karma is learning if he doesnt feel like jumping in.. just stand there and look at me an ill pick him up. Cody, I haven't heard anything about remolded tires. I would do a consumer report research on them and see what they say. I know they now have hydrogen based tires that run better. Good to hear that Karma is doing better! Have you thought about making him a step ladder so he can get up in the truck?

lol im exausted from working on vehicles this weekend.. seems everyone had something weird going on with there car/truck. but with 6 of us in the garage i think we about got everything fixed!

Here's a few links on the tire subject Cody. It seems they aren't like retreads at all but actually made better than a new tire. I included a forum as well where there are people actually using them stating their experiences.

It is 12:31am and I'm still at work! I just had the other two ladies in my department laughing very hard! I called the bellman and asked him if he could take a luggage cart to a conference room. After he said he would, I looked at the ladies, and said, "can you imagine the guest using the luggage cart and go surfing down the hallway?" I was laughing so hard and tried talking to a guest who started laughing at me!!

Needless to say, I'm not allowed to have sugar after 10pm.

I'm leaving work around 1:30am!!

good morning everyone and thanks Domn.. ive been doing alot of reading on these and kind of wonder why everyone is not using them.. esp because of the save the eart side of it.. im reading our military is using them also.
actually they are suposed to be better then new tires.. im thinking ill chance it and see how it goes, they do come with warrenty. so ill just be sure to keep a good spare with me.
