I thought this would be a great place to Barter things that are just sitting in your garage or attic for things you really want. You can Barter anything. All you'll have to spend is money to ship it unless you live close by. Ok I'll start this thread going.

*** I have a WII that's just sitting on a shelf with 2 games and 2 controllers plus other stuff that goes with it. Im looking for a gas powered scooter.

Gemme

Nice idea. I have neither a scooter nor a need for a WII but I like the concept of the thread.

Pretty cool show and a great idea for a thread.

I don't have a gas powered scooter, but I have a garage full of stuff to barter with lol

Great idea for a thread! I just bought a Wii and my parents did too. Don't have a scooter.

you all keep posting your wants and what you have to barter I'll keep an eye on the thread. I have a gazillion trading cards from the late 80's to around 2000. NBA, NFL, NHL college, Desert Storm, Nascar, some complete sets and some not. Many late NASCAR driver cards Davey, Neil, Dale, Allen....also a ton of 1/24th, 1/64th and there is a midsize I can't think of what it is
1/32nd maybe it's called, all NASCAR Die cast. Also have 4 WW2 Die Cast airplanes and an Electric Hobby Airplane with 2 batteries I never used it cuz of the power lines around my house and they guy across the street had one and it spooked the horses so I never even took mine out of the box $250 value about 5 yrs ago

DapperButch

Blade, you should definitely put that airplane up on ebay. Look to see what that exact model is going for, both new and used, and chose your price from there.

Mr Nice Guy
06-23-2012, 07:12 PM
Or trade it for something of equal value. But eBay or Craigslist are great places to find great stuff.

Sorry. Didn't mean to infiltrate the thread. I do think it is a great idea for a thread, I just didn't think there were two many items one would barter that is worth the $250 Blade paid for the airplane. That's all.

Mr Nice Guy
06-23-2012, 07:20 PM
Oh no you didn't. I think all ideas are great to get rid of stuff. Maybe I came across funny in words. Sorry. No harm. But I did buy something on eBay that worked out great. I'm browsing Craigslist and it's barter section is great!!:)

I grew up with the Hueytown Gang! Well I am actually a few years younger. But, Neil's daughter was in school with me and my ex-hubby used to play golf with Davey. AND Davey's first home with Liz is within walking distance of my home.

Lots of history there.

I come from a long line of barterers. Creative Anachronism and what not. It is a good thing, imo. Though lately I simply donate, since folks closer by can benefit from the stuff.

I also give/get a lot of interesting things from FreeCycle.

I really enjoy lightening up, holding on to less and less. In fact just about to give away my collections of old vintage milk glass and antique vacumn coffee pots.

Am bound and determined that my next major move will be much much easier.

I'm selling my motorcycle and decided to put an ad for it in both the for sale and the barter sections of Craigslist. I clearly said in the trade section that I would be willing to do a part cash / part trade so I could try to catch some people who couldnt come up with $3k+, but might have a couple thousand to spend plus something to trade.

It is crazy what people are emailing me - comic books, Harley Davidson jackets, glass pipes, etc - and not one of them added a cash amount to the trades they offered.

Um .... sure, let's trade my $3k+ bike for your comic books ... that's fair. :|

Anyway, not trying to derail, I just thought some of you here might get a chuckle or two at that. :winky:

But hey - if anyone in the area (Seattle) is interested or knows of anyone who is interested in a bike, I'm getting rid of my 2001 Suzuki Marauder VZ800 (cruiser) plus all of my luggage, the new seats, after market extras, repainted tank, etc and am open to cash OR cash+trade (pics in my gallery). :)

I have some items I was going to sell on eBay but I am so tired of eBay right now, lol, so I thought maybe someone from my community might want something of mine. :)

Below is a list of what I have and --> HERE (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10100783845035290.2677332.22912279&type=3&l=639bfe772e) <-- is a link to the pics of everything on my FB (I made a special album just for BFP barter :) ).

I have 10 decorative folding knives - each one comes in a plastic display case and there is a picture on each knife and its display case depicting: wolves (I have 2 of these), deer (2), eagles (2), a Native American theme (2), a tractor (1), and a patriotic theme (1). Take one, take a few, take them all - to sell, keep/collect, or give away. :)

I also have a knife with what looks like a dragon skeleton for a handle - it is 9" overall and comes with a plastic display stand.

I have 2 bags of diatomeceous earth - each bag is just over 2lbs. I got this to feed my dogs for flea control, but it was difficult feeding it to them since they eat kibble and a couple of them are pretty damn finicky. lol

Next is a Champion professional neoprene knee stabilizer with metal hinged bars. It is a XXL that I got from the VA right around the time of my knee surgery last year. It was a size too big for me, but once I took it home and tried to wear it, the VA wouldnt take it back. The hinges are new because I swapped them out when I got the other knee brace.

I also have a shirt I designed for a friend for Pride, but I was sent the wrong size - it is a black t-shirt with "Proud to be a Femme" on it in pink lettering. It's a size small, which the site says is a 30" bust and a 25" length.

I also have a Mariners Ichiro jersey that I got as a stadium giveaway (SGA) last summer. They gave away XL jerseys to the first 20K (or whatever) fans and then we all stood in line to swap out for different sizes - I got a XXL.

That's all I got - let me know if anything sounds like something you want to trade for something of yours. :)

I have bartered for years and love it! I've mainly done it with Jeeps to upgrade in value. :)

Here is what I have and will list in more detail later today:

Quintana Roo road bike (super light). A little small for me- would fit a rider who is 5'8" or shorter.

Two cricket bats plus lots of protective gear and accessories.

Signed football- Titans: Steve McNair autograph plus many others.

High quality landscape tools.

12 gauge shotgun (never fired).

What I'm looking for:

Small John boat.
Specialized mountain bikes (medium).
Fishing gear.
Camping gear.
Things that go BOOM!
10' light weight utility trailer (prefer 4' wide).
Two person kayak.
Hunting lease in the Nashville TN area.

Message me if you're interested.

Thanks! Cool idea!

I wanted to add 2 things to the above (edited) list:

Infineon 256MB RAM - pulled from my Compaq computer this morning - nothing wrong with it, I just wanted to add another gig, so it had to come out. :winky:
Goggles for riding a motorcycle, dirt bike, ATV, whatever .... they are over sized goggles and were advertised as being large enough to fit over most prescription glasses. The problem is that once you put them on, they smash your glasses to your face, making them unusable for that purpose. But, they are good goggles - they fit snugly, they dont allow wind, debris, etc inside, and they come with interchangeable lenses - smoke (pictured) and clear.

Both items have been added to my FB album of BFP barter items - see link in my quoted post above. :)

Yep - I mailed about 7 knives off to Clay a few days ago and she is going to mail me something she is working on when she is finished. :)

At first, she didnt know if she had anything to trade so I told her if we couldnt think of anything, she could just pay me for the shipping to get them to her bc I just wanted them gone. :winky:

But I LOVE the idea of trading something of mine for something someone made, designed, painted, whatever - something personally from them - so it worked out great. :)

I will be moving soon and as a part of the move I will be downsizing. Therefore, I will have many things that were once treasures of mine that can become the treasure of another. I'm not sure what I will be putting up for barter yet, but I do know what I would love to acquire, a handmade quilt. Must be 100% cotton as I have arthritis and a neuromuscular disease that makes me sensitive to things on my skin. So I am in the market for a quilt. As soon as I know what I have for barter, I will post the items here.

Okay, okay... I admit, these dresses are too dang big on me!! I am giving em away and some of them are rather pretty, too. So if you are a femme, or a butch that likes to cross dress, whatever and you are a person of size, you might be interested.

Twice in the last week I have tried on these dresses, telling myself I can take them in, yadda yadda yadda. But you know what? I remember how bloody hard it was when I was several hundred pounds bigger, getting any clothes at all that could fit. I have already donated a bunch last week, but these are the ones I tried to hold on to for whatever lame ass reason I was telling myself. It is time that someone could actually use these.

PM me if you would like me to send you dresses. 5x-2x, though my sweetie thinks even the 1x is looking ridiculous upon me now. I am willing to let go and let someone else enjoy these dresses, these awesome fabrics. Though I can sew and alter especially dresses with the best of them, I think it would be nicer to let someone of size wear something pretty. Might even help them get a job or something, mebbe just go outside and enjoy a beautiful day feeling good about themselves when so often we people of size have a hard time with such mundanities.

Though I am much smaller today, I will always be a person of size at heart. No matter how much wt you lose, you never lose that.

Clothes, shoes, and purses (okay, if I had purses) I'm saving for the Femme clothing swap at the Reunion. So if you want to barter for those, you'll have to be there! :D

I cleared out most of my non-essentials last year when I moved into the apartment. But I check here often, you never know when I'd be willing to part with something for say some Nightmare Before Christmas (but not Sally, sorry) stuff.

If there is anyone in TN, close to Nashville, I'd barter some landscape knowledge and/or labor for some food canning help/education. The garden is producing like crazy and I've given lots away- hate the idea of wasting anything...

Also - I thought you said you didnt have anything in the 3XLT range yet?

Ooo! Ooo!

I have shoes that need new homes, they have only been worn a couple of times, (some pairs may be "pick up, drop off" shoes and I make no claims as to the comfort of such shoes, but they're cuuuuute).

Size 5.5 or 6

NOOOOOO! Why am I not your size??? LOL

Maybe I could squeeze into some 6's (I'm 6.5). I do wear a six in some flats, and all tennis shoes...

PM me, please, if they're not already spoken for!

I PM'd you, I think I have a couple pair that are 6.5-ish and are too big for me to comfortably wear. I hope I can find the mysteriously sized vintage Weitzman's... nobody fits in them... they're like Cinderella shoes.

If anyone else is interested in the 5.5 or 6's let me know. I have two pair of cute espadrille-ish type wedges that are nearly brand new, marine blue with stretchy wide straps and a tangerine pair with corded straps and white cording/rope detail on the wedge.

Just bumping up my list of items and putting them all in one post .... --> HERE (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10100783845035290.2677332.22912279&type=3&l=639bfe772e) <-- is a link to pics of everything I am bartering - I made a special FB album just for BFP barter :).

I have 4 decorative folding knives - each one comes in a plastic display case and there is a picture on each knife and its display case depicting: wolves (I have 1 of these), deer (2), and a tractor (1).

I got this for flea control, but it can also be used for other pests, such as ants, etc.

I wanted to add 3 things to my list:

1. A black velvet-type bag, measuring 5.25" L x 4.25" W

2. I have 3 of these - small sheer lavendar fabric bags with rope clusures and lavender beads - they each measure 3.75" L x 3" W (tapering to about 2.5" W at the bottom)

You can find pics of the 2 above items in the same FB album as all of my other items --> HERE (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10100783845035290.2677332.22912279&type=3&l=639bfe772e)

3. This is for local barter only since I cant really afford to ship it - it is one of my Hawk Helmets - the Hawk H6657 Blue Warrior Dual Visor Full Face DOT Helmet . It is a size medium and has never been worn (I bought 2 at the same time because I am a dropper lol, but then switched to half shell helmets before I ever needed to use this one).

The entire face flips up as well as the shield - sunglasses pop down, it has several vents, and a helmet bag. Below is one pic, but the rest can be found here: Hawk Helmet (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10100857739659870.2692389.22912279&type=3&l=6c4218a54f)

I got some lingerie to give away if there are any takers.

Both may have been worn once, but they don't really fit me.

One is pink, lacy, see-thru, super cute. Would fit someone with maybe DD or smaller cup size who is maybe a size 14-16-maybe 18

One is red with black lacy cups. Would fit a bustier girl, maybe sizes 20-22-24

PM me if you want one! I'll mail it to you just to get rid of it.

This is not for barter, I am just giving it away to anyone who lives in or within driving distance of any of the below cities - but I honestly didnt know where else to put it, so here it is ....

I have a Cinebarre (http://cinebarre.com/) pass that I forgot to use before I left WA and there are no locations in IL.

For those who dont know, this is a movie theater where you can order food and drinks and they bring it to your table while you watch the movie - they gave the pass to me back when I tried to watch Titanic 3D but couldnt even make it through the first hour with my vertigo. lol

It says it is good for any location so if someone lives in or near Mountlake Terrace WA (north of Seattle), Salem OR, Denver CO, Charleston SC, Asheville NC, or Charlotte NC and you would like this pass, PM me with your snail mail address and I'll put it into the mail for you.
