I was just thinking...
I wonder what we can do that would surprise/shock/entertain each other. Things that no one would ever know, well, till we tell them..
For instance...
I can pop every single joint in my fingers.
I can clog.
I can pick up a pencil with my toes.
I am proud.
What can you do? Come on. Show off your "off the wall" talents and be PROUD!!!
well...umm....I can tie a knot in cherry stems, with my tongue. IF I have an esp. long cherry stem, I can do two knots in it!
I can fold my tongue in half, and flip it upside down
Neither of which will win me a Nobel BUT are interesting, none the less....

I've worked at learning that for years and I STILL can't master it!

If I plug my nose and increase the pressure in my sinus cavity, I can squirt water from my tear ducts about 6 inches away from my face...I refrain from doing this...I'm now afraid I may burst an eardrum someday...or be accused of being a horny toad in my last life...Well, I guess, like the horny toad, I was born in the Arizona Sonoran Desert...
hE_fZNZjJcQ
I can pop all my fingers & toes, elbows, wrists, neck, hips, back, and ankles...This happens unintentionally as well, which is why as a teenager, I was often caught sneaking out of the house, because my mother learned to be hyper-aware of my ankles popping as I was attempting to sneak past her room...

Yes, I can do the farting noises by cupping one palm under an armpit and jerking that arm up and down. If I go slow, I can make a long, very convincing fart sound.
Well, actually all of them are very convincing.
Not bragging, only being factual. :)
Edit:
I was with a woman in the 90s for like nine years. She was angry at me about something and became quite nasty verbally. I was damn determined not to engage and say nasty, mean things back to her. I got up and walked out of the room doing the fart noise under my arm. Pissed her right off without saying a word. LOL!

i like to recite john wayne lines, such as: "you got a brother. he's no good, but he's ya brother." "you wanna pick up that gun, ... i wish ya would." "fill your hands you son of a bitches!" at any moment i might say one of these lines or another. i'm quite good at this. and very proud!
quick story. my neice and i like to record on the phone. so she records me saying "fill your hands". she then puts this as a ringtone. well you got it, ... i'm sitting at a ballgame and it's a quiet moment. there goes that ringtone. i moved pretty darn fast.
i can't do tongue tricks. although i did hyper extend my tongue once. but that's another box score for another game.
3rd grade. i was sent out into the hall for doing the armpit sounds.
i can do the hambone. as a kid, i would do that on everything. my daddy, "mac! stop doing the hambone on the recliner's arm!"
i can whistle loud too. i can do the sexy whistle. proud!
i want to see laney run in high heels. :)

make my ass clap
do splits and other ridiculous flexible things
pop my spine in and out of place (or rather, my spine is degenerating and i have vertebrae that slide in and out of place, especially when i sit/stand, so i can make them "click" back in place when lying down)
hold a conversation in mandarin chinese
read some sanskrit and tibetan (i'm rusty)
recite parts of the qur'an from memory
do the cupid shuffle, the electric slide, the cha cha slide, the wobble, the dougie, and a couple different versions of the detroit hustle

I can play the autoharp
I can play the flute (well i could in grammar school)
I have one ability that i had forgotten about and it's a memory thing (i believe that was an oxymoron)
Someone can call out 20 items to me and i can remember them by number, repeat them backwards forwards or just ask me "what was number 7". I can keep this in that memory bank for up to a week.
That takes all of my memory cells i believe, because i can't remember anything else.

Like Belle, I have a good memory. I have the ability to remember names & faces in a way that most people cannot. When I was younger, I worked for a bank and never once chose the wrong person out of a (photo) line-up when I had waited on the criminal. Later on, I was doing the line ups for everyone in the bank and still never missed one.
~That talent caused the FBI to come knocking to try to recruit me and yes I do regret turning them down. The funny thing is that I ran into the recruiter last year. I was behind him in line at Wal-mart and said "OMG, it is Frank XXXXX. I have not seen you in ages." He finally remembered me and told the cashier, 'this girl can remember anyone by name and face, apparently even after 15 years or so."
Oh, and to the ass clapping thing, I saw it on YouTube. My ass shake is not that, mine is the full body quiver thing that strippers can do.

I can find a way to make any situation better. For instance when someone is going through a hard time just being there and talking seems to help so much on everything. I call myself a good entertainer since most of my nuttiness is not on purpose but most tell me I am a good listener.
I can get any baby to stop crying in less then five minutes. I have done this many many times with so many of my family and friends babies through the years. I have a way of seeing their needs it doesn't matter if they have colic or just tired.
I can kick butt in Wii.. Yes I am sure you don't think that is a big thing but I can be on the bottom of the scores and somthing inside of me kicks it up and I end up winning at the end. Can I derail to say what I hope I can do tomorrow?
The challenge:
Teaching a cooking class for 25 participants. Demonstration style- I do all the work, talking, educating, cooking, serving. ( I have two assistants to help stir and wash dishes as needed)
Goals: Meet class topic of teaching how to make 5 different dinner pies and having them done in time for everyone to watch how they are made and get to eat them too.
Challenges. Cooking 5 entrees for 25 people in 2.5 hours, including cooking time. Average bake time range from 25-45 minutes. Also includes making polenta from scratch (one crust), vegan bechamel sauce (to go on mushroom pie), and vegan gravy(to top shepherds pie). Each takes about 20 minutes.
Perks: I will have 6 burners, two full size ovens, two arms, two assistants, and a pretty good ability to multi-task.
Can I get a "you can do it!" with a promise from me to update tomorrow to see if I can claim that this is something I can actually do?

Oh, and for bonus fun, at this cooking school- I'm on camera/projected on TV through the classroom. I kind of really hate that. They put tape on the counters to make me stay in camera view because I used to always sneak off and cook on the side.

You can do this! You will ROCK this!!
(and as for the cheesecake vs kale comments earlier, while I know that you 1000% support the need to indulge in cheesecake, I also have no doubt that you'd probably find a way to sneak some kale into it if you could!)
OK, getting back on track, I can:
Fold my hands in half so that my fingers are completely flat against my palms.
Make my tongue into a tube (can't everyone do that? or is that one of those genetic weird things?)
Follow a really good lead dancer to the point that it appears as if I really know what I'm doing even when I definitely do not!
Explain the DOS commands or Lotus 123 comman sequences needed to do a certain activity (ok, so I'm a geek dinosaur).
Read freakishly fast.
Explain the basics of subnetworking so that pretty much anyone who wants to get it can actually get it, and teach you binary and hexadecimal math in the process
Parallel park in very small spots (though I manage to frequently screw up parking in oversized spots!)

DWM: Cheese cake would be new for me, but I've made dark chocolate cherry cashew truffles with a kale infusion/infiltration and damn but they were good.
I think that your hands and tongue are both genetics.
The computer stuff that I don't get is because of your brilliance.
The parking is your careful attention to detail.

And, yes, the tongue things are genetic. For example, I can do the tube thing but I do not have the genetics to roll my tongue or to make waves with it. Some people can turn their tongues completely sideways too.
Something I can do is:
*remember odd trivia at odd moments and never remember what I WANT to remember WHEN I want to remember it
*get a Brazilian without crying, whining, whimpering, yelling, screaming, panting like a dog, flinching, or anything else that my waxer used to tell me folks do when they get it done. I breathe. Deeply.
*break brand new hard candy (not softened or sucked down) with my teeth
*play Pictionary pretty okay
*speak with a Minnesota accent pretty decent....I used to do a great Dr. Ruth, but my voice changed in high school and now I can't do it nearly as well
*look like a cross between Bjork and Judy Lewis (Clark Gable's daughter (http://search.aol.com/aol/imageDetails?s_it=imageDetails&q=judy+lewis+clark+gable&v_t=comsearch51-ac&b=image%3Fenabled_terms%3D%26s_it%3Dcomsearch51-ac%26q%3Djudy%2Blewis%2Bclark%2Bgable%26oreq%3D975 0c3ac812a43bbab920878e5f91e1c&img=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hollywoodreporter.com%2Fsites %2Fdefault%2Ffiles%2F2011%2F12%2Fjudy_lewis_gable_ young_a_p.jpg&host=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hollywoodreporter.com%2Fnews %2Fjudy-lewis-dies-clark-gable-loretta-young-268461&width=63&height=84&thumbUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fimages-partners-tbn.google.com%2Fimages%3Fq%3Dtbn%3AANd9GcSwo_HrSh cDpwdT5tpKw_OO8VYxkZUZTqv9JacaAtEEzAQetzASFKsh5g&imgWidth=349&imgHeight=466&imgSize=58082&imgTitle=judy+lewis+clark+gable)). I did it! Thank you for the cheers.
It was bloody packed. And the school manager forgot to bring me the baking pans I requested and I had to do a lot of improvising, including making one pie in a paella pan. And there were 5 more people because someone screwed up registrations and there weren't enough seats for everyone at first.
BUT my end of things went well and everyone left full and happy and I am so glad it's OVER!

I can always get a big Birthday party at work.
I posted this in another thread, but felt it deserved a repeat here. Cause, it's easy and it works and some of you may want to try it....
When it gets a couple of weeks before your birthday, stick up a sign in the lunchroom, or where ever peeps post things at work.
Say this....
November 23 is Niki's birthday (well, use your own info of course)
Let's celebrate!!!
Sign up below for a pot luck and what you will bring...
1.
2.
3.
etc
Don't forget to bring a small gift!!!!
Then put ribbons or balloon stickers all over.
If someone mentions it to you, act surprised. "What?" "Who started that?"
I did this for about 4 years at the hospital. I got huge birthday parties.
No one ever knew i started the list.
I've done it this year cause this year i'm working in the office on my BD. Last week the sheet was almost full!!!! We are having left over Thanksgiving treats mostly but someone pencilled in they are bringing a cake!!!
I will be so surprised, of course.
