View Full Version : In one word, what kind of beauty suits you?

This question is meant to be fun, whimsical and thought provoking. It is not meant to be offensive in any way and I hope that the people who read/post replies see it as it is meant to be seen. I merely want to get a glimpse into the type of beauty you would like to portray... and why.

We are all beautiful. Using ONLY ONE word, type of beauty do you hope to present? Why did you choose this word?

My word is-startling. I would rather be the beauty that you do not see coming. The one that you glance at, then look at more closely. The one that seems unconventional, different and unique.

I like to think that I am working this word right now. A recent change in hair color and contact lenses means that I have hair so black it seems blue and eyes so blue they seem black. Combined with the very pale skin I always have and the rich, wine-colored lipstick I love, I *think* that "startling" may suit me.

For now.

What a great question.

My word: Strong

Not even so much "strong" as in physically, but emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Beauty from the inside out. And not just niceness or gentleness, but a kind of power. A woman who uses her voice, sense and courage. Yes, that's what I want to be.

Fortunately, I've come to the right place for examples.

I'm going with "subtle"---I take a "less is more" approach, in that way it's always rather a surprise.

Confident

It doesn't matter how my outside looks, I can pull it off, because I am confident in who I am and what I can offer....and what I can't.

Quirky- I pick quirky because I can look completely good and put together then change one thing and then I am a quirky fashionesta aka that femme you saw on the bus in a nice pastel outfit and combat books. ^_^

'Artistic', for me. I always look at my fashion choices as creating a 'statement' about how I feel that particular day, much like a painter might consider how to cover a blank canvas. (I hope that doesn't sound self-important; I don't mean for it to come across that way). I spend a fair amount of time mixing and matching and coordinating things to get the effect I want. I mainly shop secondhand, so I find that I can play with a lot of outfit combinations while browsing in Goodwill, for example. I enjoy it.
