What is your personal theme song? How has it changed over the years? What theme song would you attribute to your significant other and why?

I don't have a significant other at the moment, but this is me all the way. :)

This was mine for years, but it doesn't fit me anymore
As I get older and feel comfortable in my own skin, I'm ready to settle down and settle in.

This. This became the theme song for my life when it first came out, and now at this point in my life it's still absolutely this song -- "It's a hard enough life to be living, why walk when you can fly." Beautiful, simple, powerful song.

For as far back as i can remember, this song has been my heart. When i was married to a bio-man, miserable, stuck, knew i was gay with no way out of the situation i was in. I sang this song constantly. In the shower, in the car, everywhere. I really believe it saved my life....

Later, after i came out to myself and those close to me...this was and is my anthem. It's all about the climb. Most of life is about self stuggles and awareness, reaching..climbing. Love this song....

Classic Molly Hatchet "Flirting with Disaster" as I am always out on the road getting into some crazy wonderful trouble!
R8zTefUMhbI
and, of course the newest: a HOUSE remix, because if you knew me you'd know how much I love to dance to these pumped-up beats, but DG & Sia's "Titanium" is a great choice for me as I was born...bulletproof.

It depends on my mood, and this song was suggested for my theme song. I rather like it.

The overall tenor of my theme song never changes... upbeat but in a minor key, some nonsense lyrics accompanied by interesting instrumentation...
A SO has never influenced "my" song. :) It's *my* song for a reason!

I have way too many, and it changes way too much. But one I can say for sure is mine, would by Landslide by Stevie Nicks. Another one for me is also Welcome To My Life by Simple Plan as well. But, again, it changes a lot.

I don't have one that i know of...now what would be interesting is what others (friends etc.) might feel "should be" your theme song..don't you think?.. :phonegab:

"Our lives are made in these small hours" and "It's the heart that really matters in the end" resonate with me deeply. It reminds me to cherish each and every "small moment" of happiness, find that happiness where and when I can, and that no matter what...be true to my heart, and treat other people with a kind, generous and loving heart.... even when, and maybe especially when, I feel they are least deserving. Because it is only through "twists and turns of fate" that we often end up where we are, and most of us are just doing the best we can with the cards we are dealt.....

Lyrics:
"Mother" by Tori Amos
Go go go go now
Out of the nest it's time
Go go go now
Circus girl without a safety net
Here here here now don't cry
You raised your hand for the assignment
Tuck those ribbons under your helmet
Be a good soldier
First my left foot then my right behind the OTHER
Pantyhose running in the cold
Mother the car is here
Somebody leave the light on
Green limosine for the redhead DANCING dancing girl
And when I dance for him
Somebody leave the light on
Just in just in case I like the dancing I can remember where I come from
I walked into your dream
And now I've forgotten how to dream my own dream
You are the CLEVER one aren't you
Brides in veils for you
We told you all of our secrets
All but one
And don't you even try
The phone has been disconnected
Dripping with blood and with time and with your advice
Poison me against the MOON
Mother the car is here
Somebody leave the light on
Black chariot for the redhead DANCING dancing girl
He's gonna change my name
Maybe you'll leave the light on
Just in just in case I like the dancing I can remember where I come from
I escape into your escape into our very favorite fearscape
It's across the sky and across my heart and I cross my legs oh my god
First my left foot then my right behind the other
Breadcrumbs lost under the snow
Oo who mother
Oo mother the car is here
Maybe maybe you'll leave the light on for the for the for the dancing girl
He's gonna change my name
Maybe you'll leave the light
Just in case I like the dancing I can remember where I come come from
Mother mother mother

The spitting image of my father
and when the day is done, my momma's still my biggest fan
Sometimes, I'm clueless and I'm clumsy
but I've got friends that love me
and they know where I stand
It's all a part of me, and that's who I am

Mary Mary - Are You Ready - Something Big - YouTube
Trying to stay positive :chocolate:
Are You Ready BY Mary Mary
La la la la la la la la la la la la la la,
La la la, la la la, la la la, This is what she said
I'm leavin' the ghetto, been plannin' for a while
I'm packin' up my dreams, right now
Good morning to the future, good night to the past
It's gonna be a good day
Looking for the good life
The big town and the green lights
On a wing and a prayer and a one way flight
[Chorus:]
Are you ready, are you ready
You talk about it everyday,
And yeah you've got a lot to say, but
Are you ready, are you ready
Gonna take a lot of preparation
To reach your destination, so
La la, get your mind right
La la la la, get your mind right
La la la la, get your mind right
La la la la, get your mind right
No, you can take a flight to Egypt, to Paris or Dubai
Then on to the next place, in your mind
But why you wanna go so far,
When it won't change who your are
On (?) or the ghetto
Looking for the good life
The big town and green lights
On a wing and a prayer and a one way flight
[Chorus:]
Are you ready, are you ready
You talk about it everyday,
And yeah you've got a lot to say, but
Are you ready, are you ready
Gonna take a lot of preparation
To reach your destination, so
La la, get your mind right
La la la la, get your mind right
La la la la, get your mind right
La la la la, get your mind right
Oh, doesn't really matter to ya
If you can get away
Don't you know that where your mind is
Is where your gonna stay
I suggest you make the best of your time
Just keep God on your mind
And I'm sure in time you'll be ready
[Chorus:]
Are you ready
You talk about it everyday,
And yeah you've got a lot to say, but
Are you ready, are you ready
It's gon' take a lot of preparation
To reach your destination
La la, get your mind right
La la la la, get your mind right
La la la la, get your mind right
La la la la, get your mind right
La la, get your mind right
La la la la, get your mind right
La la la la, get your mind right
La la la la, get your mind right
You gotta get it together, get it together
Everybody, everybody come on now
Get your mind right, eh

starting to sing my song

this is a very significant song for me. It opens something deep within me and when chrissy and I met, this song came pouring out of the caverns within both of us that needed filled. It is to be our wedding song...

DESPERADO~the Eagles
Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
You've been out riding fences for so long now
Oh, you're a hard one
I know that you've got your reasons
These things that are pleasing you
Can hurt you somehow
Don't you draw the queen of diamonds
She'll beat you if she's able
You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet
Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the things that you can't get
Desperado, oh you ain't getting any younger
Your pain and your hunger, they're driving you home
And freedom, oh freedom, well, that's just some people talking
Your prison is walking through this world all alone
Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're losing all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?
Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be raining, but there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, before it's too late.

My personal theme song has probably changed an average of every 12 to 18 months.
It's typically not a song that I overly like but, rather, a song that defines me. The two can be, and usually are, very different things.
This is my current "personal theme song". The lyrics will mean almost nothing to almost everyone here but they do to me.

Alanis Morrisette, Hand in my Pocket
Hand In My Pocket- Alanis - YouTube
I'm broke but I'm happy
I'm poor but I'm kind
I'm short but I'm healthy, yeah
I'm high but I'm grounded
I'm sane but I'm overwhelmed
I'm lost but I'm hopeful baby
What it all comes down to
Is that everything's gonna be fine fine fine
'cause I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is giving a high five
I feel drunk but I'm sober
I'm young and I'm underpaid
I'm tired but I'm working, yeah
I care but I'm restless
I'm here but I'm really gone
I'm wrong and I'm sorry baby
What it all comes down to
Is that everything's gonna be quite alright
'cause I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is flicking a cigarette
And what it all comes down to
Is that I haven't got it all figured out just yet
'cause I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is giving the peace sign
I'm free but I'm focused
I'm green but I'm wise
I'm hard but I'm friendly baby
I'm sad but I'm laughing
I'm brave but I'm chickenshit
I'm sick but I'm pretty baby
And what it all boils down to
Is that no one's really got it figured out just yet
'cause I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is playing the piano
And what it all comes down to my friends
Is that everything's just fine fine fine
'cause I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is hailing a taxi cab
