Is smell an underrated sense?

What do you like to smell? Post a pic!

Have any distinct smell memories? Do tell.

See 8:30 in this video....viva la smell:

I looked at the 8:30 marker and I'm not sure what Washington opening the doors to gay marriage has to do with smell. Would you clarify, please?

I cannot smell finger paints or clay without remembering kindergarten :)

And there's a certain pipe tobacco that reminds me of a certain late uncle...

My nose is about the only thing that still works like it always has....I enjoy good clean scents....I will post more when I have time :)

I love the smell of washing just off the clothes line. :awww: There is no artificial smell that can ever beat that.

Just washed babies smothered in Johnson's Baby Powder. :awww:

Madam Butterfly a day after she's been groomed (the first day the smell of her medicated shampoo is still a bit strong) - no perfumes for her. Just the clean puppy smell. :awww:

I think smell is very underrated and we are so used to companies using "artificial" smells that supposedly mimic nature that the subtle scents are lost on us. Esp. supposed citrus scents...too overblown in cleaning products. That said;

1. babies after a bath
2. fresh cut wood/lumber
3. smoke from a chimney on a cold night
4. fresh sheets
5. the way the lake smells when you are out on the water with a breeze
6. ocean (the water one, not our friend here on BFP...although haven't met her so maybe she should be on the list too?)
7. fresh herbs...mint, rosemary
8. old bookstores (because I am weird)
9. art supplies (ok...and crayons)
10. leather (after the saddles are cleaned at the stable and no this is not a euphemism)

11. Butter rum lifesavers (because my grandmother always let me have one if I sat still during church)
12. A shirt worn by your lover and left behind because they are far away.

and right now....MY CHRISTMAS TREE!!!!

Waking up at the seaside in the summertime, with the windows open and a cool breeze coming through...salty and fresh.
