View Full Version : Metrosexual butch fashion

Posting on behalf of a friend:
What are some clothing and fashion ideas for a butch whose style leans towards "metrosexual" - splashes of color, non-traditional looks, softer fabrics, textures/patterns, etc.. Ideas? Pictures are a plus (of men or butches) -- pictures showing older and/or bigger guys/butches earn lots of extra brownie points. :)
Thanks!

I don't think I have much knowledge in fashion, since I am just a simple T-Shirt and Jeans kind of guy.
But I guess when I dress up, I wear some color full shirts that are button down, and I wear a lot of Gap and Banana Republic.
I have bought shirts from this place in Addison, TX
Mallasadi Men's Boutique
5100 Beltline Road
Suite 610
Dallas, Texas 75254
Its not cheap, but they have great personal service.
You can find them online.

My current favourite fashion house is Ermenegildo Zegna, an old-established Italian company but I only came across it in the past two years or so. I really, really love some of their styles:

For footwear, I've become a massive fan of Gucinari. There's little better, for me, than a nice pair of leather Chelsea boots:

The guy in the centre is David Gandy - a well known model (famous for modelling Dolce & Gabbana).

I really enjoy a nice coat and a tie...I have several combinations I dont get to wear as often as I'd like.

YOU are the epitome of fashion, my dear. I was thoroughly disappointed that I missed seeing your wardrobe at the last reunion.

Everyone has different tastes. For some reason, I don't like wearing ties. I do, occasionally, like to wear cravates and they suit me better.
My fashion style is continually changing. In recent months, I've started wearing cardigans which, I fear, is a sign that I'm entering a mid-life crisis :)

Ha ! ..... Well, he's the guy that I'd like to look like lol
At the last Reunion, I brought along a nice Ermenegildo Zegna suit. This year, I'll bring along something from Holland Esquire and probably Ted Baker ;)

Was that your suit for the Prom? I concur; that was nice :).
I know nothing of designers or fashion, but I can appreciate anyone who has style and wears clothes well. Not a "must-have" on my list, but a plus.

Nice? "That was nice" - OMG. The last person who told me that my fashion choices were nice was my grandmother (and she's been dead for 16 years).
Trust me, I'm not looking to look nice :)
Time for a refresh of my wardrobe methinks.

Trust me, the last thing I want to sound like is anyone's grandmother . Time for a refresh of my choice of words, I think.
I figured anything more specific would get me in trouble. What the hell, "handsome" is one of the "H" words I can think of :eyebat:.

Cavalli works, too :) But yes, Dolce & Gabbana with nice-fitting jeans and boots. Hot. Hot. Hot. I also like the cardigan look, and stylish glasses. I always fall hard for those types :)

That sort of catch-all statement is a bit like saying the only beautiful women are blondes.
It's less about the specific brand or designer but how it fits, how you wear it and whether it can help to externalise something that's internal.

[quote=Ciaran;746204]D & G is my personal choice. Sorry if I generalized. It's a personal choice for me.
Yes, a person's style should reflect their unique personality.
I'm not really into fashion. But if I'm gonna spend money it would be D & G. I would have it tailored to fit my body.
The devil is in the details.

I am currently a fashion design student in university. I am designing a gender neutral clothing line with an emphasis on masculine designs fitted to a female body type. I currently need to do research and was hoping some of you would be willing to complete a short, anonymous survey. The link is below.
