Oh I do love this thread!!!
My femme cave is my bedroom. My favorite things reside here! My bed of course, the best sheets I can find (luxurious bedding is a must) seeing that napping and bedtime are a favorite of mine. I have beautiful framed pictures that are all sentimemtal in some way, whether given to me or a "find". My jewelry box that stays close to my bed (which indicates it's importance, lol) filled with things that have been given to me, either by people that have been in my life or passed down from my mom or grandmother. My treadmill of course because when I wake up it speaks to me (get on me) sometimes I listen, sometimes I don't. I can't forget my 5 foot tall giraffee that I scored at a furniture store that was closing down. (her name is Gertrude, yes I am insane) and let me not leave out my closet with lots of beautiful clothes and shoes which are truly things I cherish. Some are recent buys and some are not, some fit and some don't.... they are like family!!! So, in summary, my bedroom is truly my oasis and I have created a place that makes me feel happy and peaceful.

Right now my bedroom is in such a state of dissaray, that I certainly would call it a cave, but not a femme cave. I have carved out a corner in the living room for a femme office/writer's corner which I'll keep. Then if my room survives the planned napalming, I'll take pictures of my brand new world.

Well, I guess my whole house is my femmecave, even though it is shared with a teenage grrlchild. But caverooms have different purposes.
Most used room is my kitchen/cave. Fashioned after a 50s diner with black and white checker floor, black and chrome pub table, photos of Elvis, Lucille Ball, etc. Small tabletop juke box. All red accents of appliances and vintage cherry curtains. Stove is original 1945 Gibson to tie it all up. I spend most of my time in that room.
My library is my more quiet cave. One solid wall floor to ceiling shelving of books (mine and my daughters) and another wall with a big hutch filled with games/activities. Rolltop desk to the side.
My bedroom is the other quiet cave (The love shack) I built it into the attic. It's nice buttery cream color, hardwood floor, soft lighting. Large window/wall looking over a river. I don't keep much in there. The bed, which is wicked cozy, one dresser, a nightstand.
I love my house/cave.
My femme cave is actually my balcony. I live in a small condo but I have a huge balcony and I make the most of it.
I have wood tile covering the cement for the flooring. On one side, I have a bar type table with two high chairs so I can sit and have a coffee while looking out at the lake. On the other end, I have a two seater, with a coffee table.
I've put up star lights along the length of the sliding glass doors as well as lights on the 'trees'. There's a small side table with a collection of candles. In the warmer months, I have numerous plants, flowers, herbs and sometimes veggies growing.
I go out onto the balcony every day at some point throughout the day. Winter, summer, spring and fall. I love my view and I've made it into a lovely little piece of heaven.
Well, I'm seriously blessed and I thank my lucky stars every day! :moonstars:
I'm one who gets the whole house too. :heartbeat: I'm enjoying it because I'm just taking my time getting things the way I want them.
After my international breakup, a year and a half ago, most of my few belongings are still either in Italy or in a storage container in Maryland. So, I'm kinda just taking things slowly.
:pirate-steer: I'm the only captain of this ship, bitches! wooo hoo
I live next door to my mom in a circa 1950's hand made, cinderblock house on the prairie of the Northern Chihuahua desert. It's got sandy pink concrete floors, matching sandy pink plaster walls, deep brown and aquamarine curtains, ancient plumbing, and a red fiberglass kitchen countertop. (That's getting changed this year!)
My femme cave is all about living in complete peace and quiet, that is, until I crank up the music and dance around. :koolaid:
I have a simple desk and chair set up in front of a large picture window where I write :typewriter: and play on the Planet, :computer: and eat lots of :chocolate:.
:laundryday:I help my mom out with the odd bit here and there but what's nice is I really don't have to do shit for anyone but me and the doggie.
:doghead: <---- prairie dog. Mini takes up very little real estate has been the truest of friends. She completes my femme cave.
I have all the important things: lots of searing hot water and an old, but decent, ceramic-coated bathtub:bath: a cushy reclining chair, good sheets on the bed, good coffee to drink and good books:glasses: and I've recently been watching a TV series out of Australia called McLeod's Daughters.
I do, from time to time, get a gob of fresh:farmeggs:from my neighbor about a mile from here. :farmchicken:
It is my sanctuary and is all about relaxing, that is, until I'm on the road again in search of my next project or headed out to reunion!!! :carride:
:blueheels: Viva la Femme!

My next apartment will be all to myself. I guess then there's no need for a "cave" per se.
Maybe someday I will get to a place where I can share a home and life with somebody who is compatible.

I have a room that is in between the two bedrooms. It is my cave. I have all my crafts in there, some horse tack, and my desk. Also a loveseat, a bookcase and my wall has my special photos and painting on them. I can sit at my desk and look outside my window, and see my garden, and the beautiful pergola of grapes, and the fence line of trumpet vines. I have a tart warmer that is filled with my latest whim. I am about to pull up the old shag carpeting and let the old wood floor breath once again.

I also have a place to myself which I love. I have three bedrooms, and each one has its own personality and decor and depending on how I'm feeling will determine which room I might spend some time in. This varies from very 'old world', big wooden bed with a floral counterpane and lots of big pillows and gentle pictures on the walls, to another room with a bright bed cover, minnie mouse and cartoon sketches on the wall, and the thrid bedroom with a big bookcase, lots of my favourite books, and pictures of my family and dogs. And then I have the best patio in the world, that overlooks a golf course, has a myriad of different birds visit everyday, a mob of kangaroos that hang about the back fence looking for a treat, and a bar-b-q, plants and my music box to just kick back and relax after work. So I guess my whole home is my femme cave, different rooms for different moods.

My entire home is my Femme Cave but I have some pretty specific spaces that are super mine.
I converted one of our bedrooms into an office/craft space and I LOVE spending time in there in my little "me-cave".
Jackhammer painted the walls a deep aubergine: http://www.housebeautiful.com/cm/housebeautiful/images/1-color-Brinjal-0409-xlg.jpg
and it's trimmed out with a cool cream:
http://media-cache-ec5.pinterest.com/upload/271060471293175608_vTbmdkzU_b.jpg
She also laid a gorgeous industrial floor in fireside oak:
http://images.lowes.com/product/converted/816281/816281003827lg.jpg
My cave is a combination office/craft room/sewing space/geek nest. There is a long industrial restaurant table and lots of shelves and Jackhammer reworked the closet in that room by putting lots of deep shelves from floor to ceiling.
I also found a really huge (and heavy!) lateral file at a yard sale for $10 (brand new!!!) and it fit nicely under the shortest shelf in the closet. It made it really nice for organizing all of my papers and it locks! WEE!

Until last June I had my own place and the whole thing was my Femme cave. It was decorated just for me. Lots of colour, lots of art and pretty things and my bedroom was my favourite cozy nook. Since June I have been living the Gypsy life so I have not had a space of my own.
But now...
I will have my own studio in the house. I have it all planned out. I am a messy abstract painter and the floor is hardwood so I need to lay a roll of lino over top which I will cover in a canvas tarp. The walls have to be covered in plastic (think Dexter). It will have my painting table and a cupboard with all my supplies in it, the cupboard must have a door as I am messy when I paint but I hate messy in my space. I asked my GF to watch out for a large industrial kitchen tray holder thingy so I could stack canvases flat to dry in a small space, and excitement, today she is going to auction to get me one (or at least try).
The room is not huge, but big enough and it has a gorgeous big window which is great, light is so important to me. This will be my hideaway in our small little house and I can close the door and be protected from dog tails... and hair. Who knew short haired dogs shed so much? And those tails, they are dangerous, I have gotten bruises when they get all excited and start whipping them around and Labs get excited... all the time and about everything.
I am very excited about my new little Femme cave.
At this point in time I live in a two-bedroom condo. My cave area is the spare bedroom which has a built-in desk. I keep craft and knitting/crocheting items within reach. I have a large screened TV and the computer set up. I use the bed for chilling and creating with yarn; I use the desk for the computer and small crafts (think altoid tins). I generally have fresh flowers from the market sitting in a vase. Mostly, I just chill with classical music but I've been know to sing along with folk singers. I have a lot of quiet and peace in my cave. I like it!

I only really have one room that is my space with my decorations since I still live between my parents and grandparents house. BUT, my room I have is an my gender fluid cave. You see I'm always feminine in personality but I bind sometimes and go gay boy out if I'm taking the bus or doing drag around town.
My place is a femme cave though just with some gender fluid aspects :) There are wigs, cute clothes, cuter false eyelashes, and an earthy goddess feel to my room complete with the room smelling like, "Orange Shadow," incense.:blueheels:

I don't know that I have an actual cave carved out for just me, but in the spare bedroom/family room is where I keep my crafting goodies and yarn. I went a little crazy before the holidays and my yarn collection quadrupled. I am going to make a series of cubes to store it so I can stand back and admire all the gorgeous colors. <le sigh>
Someday I would love to get a sewing machine, and then I will want to have more of a femme cave because I will be sewing the world a cute frock or two. ;)

When I got this 1-bedroom apartment almost 2 years ago, it was my first time living on my own without family, friends or a partner. It was going to be my femmecave, for sure.
I started with my bed, nightstand, dresser, 1950s green recliner from my great-grandmother, an exercise ball, my bookcase and books, my clothes and kitchenware. Through donations from my godmothers, Kijiji, careful shopping and some help from friends, I've fleshed out this place into a shabby chic haven.
I have paper bunting made from vintage books, ribbon and washi tape on the walls. I have a batik scarf framing a print. I have a pinup girls calendar over the fuse panel in the kitchen. I have random posters all over. I have vintage hats on top of my television. I have a 1940s gramophone cabinet which I still try, in vain, to fix. I have my bass either propped up in a corner or lying on the rug after a sweaty, hand-blistery practice session. It is MARVELLOUS.
But now M has moved in. Hy brought no furniture whatsoever, but we had to play closet Tetris to get hys storage stuff in. There is now a bit more laundry (hy's a city bus driver, so all hy wears is uniforms, whereas I am a clothes pig.) I had to get a shoe rack. All minimal changes. Besides... hy brought a Wii. :D
And despite the overwhelming girliness of the place, I can still walk in after an errand and barely notice hym lying on the couch with a device or book - hy blends in nicely. Maybe the finishing touch on my femmecave was a guy?

My whole apartment is my femme cave.
It was hard leaving my lover's house (harder to stay there, of course), so to keep myself strong I treated myself to a lot of new things—turquoise faux-velvet curtains and matching pillow shams, also deep reds, and a few other things that make me feel good.
My gold leather love seat and arm chair took a beating at her house (the kid acted out once, grinding his gritty shoe soles into the couch seat, and the housekeeper cleaned them with goo-gone, long story), but they survived, a bit shabbier for wear, as was most of my stuff.
We all made it out, I guess I'm saying. I have my few chunks of furniture, and my 10 x 18 black-and-oatmeal low-pile wool rug that looks great with the gold and turquoise. I have the oval formica-and-chrome kitchen table my sweet boyfriend in college gave me, matching chrome chairs, and a large red-and-grey braided rug I had made a long time ago for my and N's kitchen that looks incredibly good with them.
I feel soothed when I walk in the door. I sit in the big armchair facing the windows and there's a balcony with a 9th-floor view of roof tops and trees. At night I can see what first looks like a star, but turns out to be a jet coming in to LaGuardia every minute or so. You can't hear them, but the big, flickering star that expands as it gets closer at night makes me feel good for some reason. I feel lucky to be here. Yeah, this is my cave.

My ex has finally moved out as of just 3 weeks ago, so I am still in the process of reclaiming my house, and it feels just so wonderful. It's been so long since I felt any real comfort here so right now I'm just exploring how to set things up and how to use the different spaces to make them completely mine -- though completely mine in a way that makes it easy to share it with dear friends (one who is arriving in a few hours - YAY!) and eventually maybe with someone who can help me fill the house up with love...

Like some others, my whole apartment is my cave. The floorplan is called Allegro, which is fitting due to the speed with which I moved into her. I was definitely not expecting it, but she's exactly what I needed.
When you come in, there's a tall narrow stairwell that takes you up. It's literally a transition from the world outside to the world inside and above everything. For the most part, it's quiet and no one bothers me here.
The kitchen, living room, dining room and computer area are all out in the open and I have a beautiful fireplace just inside the balcony door. Now that I have eclipse curtains up, the bedroom is a lovely place and there's a garden tub in the bath.
It's very charming and I can't wait until I have it exactly to my liking. She's coming alive, one piece at a time.

My best femme friend visited my cave this afternoon. We took a long walk and afterwards, she lay on the couch with this lightweight, black-, red- and gold-striped alpaca blanket I brought back from Ecuador, and sunk down into the pillows to drink her peppermint tea. She looked so beautiful! It was like she had been lounging on that couch for years. Now I see my place through her eyes, and it feels really good.

I have to say that just this evening, I was describing the bubbly happy feeling I had while lolling around in my bed.
I was going on and on to Gaige, about the comfort of the fluffy mattress pad, topped with silky soft sheets, two fluffy down comforters, and many fluffy pillows. So, I think that my bedroom has become the first wing of my femme cave.
The spare room will be the next area to be developed into a new femme cave wing, where I will have my jewelry making supplies perfectly organized, and accessible (which means no cats in that room).
Frankly, the roommate moving out, has convinced me that my entire house should be one big femme haven...

My femme cave is my closet. My special shoes are all stacked neatly in boxes, the rest are on shelves or on the floor (tennies and boots). My scarves are tied just above the shoe boxes, and my clothes are divided (pants, work shirts, skirts, dresses, casuals). My memory chest is in there with all my pictures, awards, newspaper articles, along with a few items that make me sad.
The essence of who I am is all in there, there amongst the heels and random musical instruments... I take my most private phone calls in there, and I absolutely hate to cry in front of people, so it's a safe spot for that too. You can tell my well-being by the state of my closet. If it's disheveled, so is my brain. It has to be put back together before I can feel normal again.
A big closet is a must-have for almost any femme, I'd think. Mine's quite divine. :blueheels:

I begin the new 'apartment adventure' soon...
My first thoughts were of a small one-bedroom, but I think I might have too much furniture (after I finish getting the rest of it from storage in the Midwest).
Now I'm back to thinking larger, with wood floors, and maybe having a guest room and bath.
This is actually starting to feel fun!

I'm in the process of organizing my femme cave. Casa del Bluem has a full, mostly finished basement that's mostly populated by random odds and ends right now, but I recently came into ownership of this super sweet coffee table and am waiting to hear back from my grandma about this chair of hers I've wanted since I was young. Planning on painting the femme cave section of the basement some sort of TARDIS-y blue and it'll house most of my books, dvds and will probably have a hair and makeup center where my curious little girl can't come in contact with my high end products. Bless her heart, she "wants to look like mommy" but mommy has expensive things that aren't for little hands.

My entire home is starting to become my femme cave, though my butch is welcome in the cave, and so far, seems to like what I'm doing...
For the first time, the house I purchased nearly 5 years ago (which will be paid off in 1.5 years!), is starting to look like I own it. I had not hung anything on the walls this entire time, added any plants or knickknacks, and I had only basic furniture items for comfort. So now, I am working through one room at a time (I've started with the living room, & front bathroom), and in recent weeks, I have been scouring the local thrift shops, yard sales, and craigslist for new items.
Each night, when I come home, and settle in for the evening, the decorating I've done really brings a smile of appreciation to my face.

My Queer corner has a comfy overstuffed short chaise lounge, two lovely end tables with Queer reading material (honestly, mostly erotica) on both, a small table/foot rest and is right next to shelving that happens to hold my spare, unrefrigerated flavored water for those 'need something to drink NOW' moments (as well as beloved memorabilia, Tarot decks, games, my cat's ashes and photography artwork by one of our own Planeteers). There is also a beautiful large painting of a field of poppies above said lounge. It's very relaxing (until the porn gets cracked open).
My corner sounds like a better idea than yours, unless yours is consensual.

In my femme cave is where all my craft supplies live. Scrapbooking, cardmaking, party decor, cake tools/supplies and painting stuff. The wifey like woodburning too so that's in there. Also, the kiddo's jewelry stuff... pretty much it's a room packed with shelves that are covered in crafts. :D
Here's what it looked like a few months ago. I've been pairing down stuff so it's a little busy in there in these pics.

my whole apartment is my femme cave - to echo what many have already said! :D
it's taken me a long time to get it looking real pretty but even though it's not exactly what I would have if money were no object... it;s still looking really pretty and very "me"... pink and leopard print are the predominant themes throughout the house... I have got some really beautiful and unique furniture pieces... some real glamour... lots of gorgeous vintage pink lusterware and depression glass... my collectibles...
actually you can see lots of corners of my place here at this link (http://everythingbutharleyquinn.tumblr.com/tagged/pink+palace/chrono). lots of christmas ones at the end

I'm craving some time in my Femme Cave lately. NaNoWriMo is coming up and I'd like to work on some short stories but my workbench is currently covered with projects and papers!!
ACK! I need an organization team!!
I have a bunch of little crafty things in random boxes all over the closet space and need to go through and group things together. Nothing like a box labeled "Doll Heads" peeking out from under a stack of old Playboys!! Lol
i *wish* i had a box labeled doll heads.

i *wish* i had a box labeled doll heads.
So, have you started your head collection?
Checked out your photography ... fabulous.
I have started doing Barbie art again, it's all Val's fault. She brought home an abandoned doll for me, then we hit a local indoor flea market, found a Mermaid Barbie and brought her home to join the other Barbie.
Mermaid Barbie uses batteries in her arse/tail because she LIGHTS UP!!!!!! omg she is so much FUN to play with!!!! A couple of new AAA batteries and voila'!! Party time!!!
The Mermaid theme happening is part of the sea side, gypsy, artist, Femme cave happening in my RV.
Have decided to yank out the ceiling, paint some panels, wallpaper others, and change the way I install the panels. It's just not feeling right.
Scored several large /long Bamboo trunks. Was going to make a wind chime, but got to looking at them today and now I'm thinking they could be used to make a Rack on top of roof. To carry extra goodies.
Well anyhoo. Oh, AND I now have a video camera! !! So if I can figure out how, I will record my progress and show you what's happening!
Good night :moonstars:

Am totally disgusted right now. Can't get into my RV because the lock is iced over.
My fabric glue is in there. Can't make a Mermaid tail without it. grrrrr
Okay switching gears, guess I will sew today instead. So will make the cat bed covers for the pillows. will make one side fuzzy and the other smooth. Winter/Summer.
Got some mending to do today also. Guess I will tackle that also. So what do you you do different during Winter months to make your cave cozy? I sit next to the oil heater and set my coffee mug on it to keep it hot.
Pulled out more lap robes so every one has one including the dogs.

A dance pole, knitting, a kiln and metal work.
You are quite eclectic! I hope you find one that has all you desire. It sounds like it would be awesome.
I'm growing more and more content with my cave. I now have a Queer corner set up and that makes me very happy.
O/our whole house is a queer corner it is filled with queers. i love it.
A great kitchen.
A study or space for when solitude is needed and thought.
Beautiful views from all the windows.
Flower gardens bursting up in spring.
A bedroom with all the needed accessories no matter how kinky they are.

This Sunday's found treasure is a dresser from the 30's, with lovely graceful lines and even a frame thingy to hold a mirror. Sorry, can't remember what the proper name for the frame thingy. Surfice it to say, I'm all excited about my new find. It's covered in tacky badly applied crackly paint, and I do mean badly applied. Under the white paint is a flat nasty shade of what looks like should have been teal but isn't.
So anyhoo, it's made of cherry wood..... ya how fabulous is THAT????!!!
So tomorrow I will commence to stripping and sanding down the crap on the surface. This afternoon I finally got brave and cut a hole in the solid wood door the roomie was tossing... bad roomie, solid wood, wth??
It has three square panels down the middle, so I cut out the one panel on one end, that's for the sink. Did not do my usual anal retentive detail work so it DOES NOT look the way I wanted it to look. BUT, being the creative genius I am, it will not deter me from having a Bohemian Kitchen. So there. The other panel on the opposite end will house the 2 burner stove top. Am so excited to finally see my Grace shaping up into a REAL FEMME CAVE on wheels. So any hoo, I've been busy scheming on how to get other things done. I started out with a beach theme but now its looking on the wild side,... Granny on LSD. :| :hangloose: :jester:
Saw some great Mermaid paintings at the Harbor Walk Art and Craft show. AND a Fabulous Mermaid painted on the side of a huge craft of some sort in the Harbor. She was beautiful!!
So now I'm inspired to do something fabulous on Grace's huge 38 ft length. Got my Elmer's Glue so I can papermache my Barbie collection into mermaids to hang in the windows and on the mirrors. Having more fun than people. Wish I had some Femme friends to hang with and make goodies. *big sigh
Well, any hoo, have jabbered enough about my lastest adventure, what's yours??
Would love to hear about it all.... :bunchflowers: toodles!

Okay, cleared a spot for my velvet antique couch. It's going to look so lovely in Grace. I wanted to reupolster it, but it's mucho expensive. So I will just put a throw cover over it, so the cats won't love it too much.
Decided to keep the metal bed frame although it's very heavy. Maybe I can sell it in my yard sale. Getting ready for that this week, need to toss out all the stuff that does not serve me any more.
Today is clear the wardrobe day. I can hardly wait to get started. Going to cut all the icky tshirts into tshirt yarn and make throw rugs for the kitchen I think. Or maybe a rug for Sophie for napping on the porch. Either way, rag rugs will be made!
Have you seen the new Valspar tester colors? Go to Lowes asap.
Lovely pale orange is the bomb.
Planted my succulents this morning. Planted the begonias I bought yesterday. Am excited to get moving on Grace. Roomie 2 has been helping this weekend. She is SUCH a big help to me. We got Grace started after replacing battery yet AGAIN.
So going to move all the extras into the Storage unit, redo the ceiling, and put some back in, and sell the rest.
Tired of lugging all this stuff around.
okie dokie, gonna get started on my painting. :byebye:

My spouse and I have each a living room. I have such a playful, colorful, artsy style, and she likes warm, muted, brownish, earthy colors. Her room is totally a reflection of who she is and my room is a reflection of me... I wouldn't want to have it any other way. So my room is full of art hanging on the walls, full of books, mostly poetry, novels and feminist/queer and art books. Two of my walls are painted a mustard color, and there is a huge cat tree for my little boys, (I brought them into the relationship). I must confess though, our bedroom looks more like the femme room in the house. One wall is painted purple and the other a dusky pink, there is a white canopy and white flower shaped fairy lights. The bed is really a princess bed (white faux leather and huge rhinestones in the headboard), and the blinds are purple too. The walls are full of my stuff, I have a giant board full of my earrings, and a shelf full of my perfumes. Then there is my make-up-stand and all my brushes on display, plus two big mirrors. I don't know why my spouse agreed to accept such a feminine, girly room as our joined bedroom, I guess she must love me a lot! :D But what I love the most about having two separate living rooms is that we can kind of visit each other, it keeps the mystery alive, which in our case is especially important, since we do not only live together, but run a business together as well. But generally, our home is pretty much decorated the way I want it, she seems to be happy if I am happy :) At least, whenever I prettify something she just smiles and hugs me and gives me sweet kiss :D

I live alone, so my entire house is my femme cave! The kitchen is bright red, the living room less so...you are literally clobbered over the head with color in my home. The bedroom is a peaceful ocean blue/green and my craft room is a pale turquoise. I have approximately one billion happy houseplants and books, but the space is open and uncluttered. The kitchen is small but perfect for me...I am a pretty fabulous cook!
Bathroom is the same color as my craft room, and I keep makeup and other paraphernalia mostly tucked away in drawers, so as not to create clutter on the vanity...I am a tidy girl.
I breathe a sigh of relief when I return home after work...it is my sanctuary.

I have new caves since I last wrote in here!
First up is our "super groovy reading room" A little nook in the house with a daybed, lava lamp, lots of groovy artwork, origami beaded curtain, loads of pillows and cozy blankets. Totally fun.
Also my music cave, which is in another nook (old house, lots of nooks) with my record player and crates and crates of vinyl and a rocking chair.

I'm moving into my very own place for the first time since I was 25 (I had it for a year). I'm 47. I've never had enough money to rent on my own, so always roommates. and I've lived with 3 partners. So this co-op I'm Moving into, the whole place will be my femme cave and I'm really excited about getting rid the of all my third hand furniture. My mum is getting ready to move into supported living so she's giving me some Of grampa's 1940s beautiful peices and the rest I'm doing in mid century Danish.
I've picked out a green velvet couch, a black velvet wing back chair, a turquoise 1950's geometric pattern rug (the place has hardwood floor, so.. Rugs a plenty!) and some really beautiful 1950's danish style solid wood bookshelves, sideboard and a black stained cherry wood dining table.
My new domain! It's a heritage building (Edwadian era) so there will be issues, but the suite is beautiful :)

My bedroom is my femme cave. It contains most of my most prized possessions. a few of my bookshelves and my favorite books, I collect carved onyx objects, goblets and the like. I have a plasma ball in the shape of the Venus de Milo on one side of my bookcase and a plaster replica of the Three Graces...or what remained of the statue after the Christians got through with it (Ancient Greek Statue) on the other side. On top I have a shadow box with various treasured objects and reminders of loved people and happy times. I have an onyx vase of peacock feathers to the right of the bookcase, to the left of my bookcase is my dresser...I have my incense and essential oils for aroma therapy there, as well as various pieces of onyx.My bed is beside my dresser and facing the bookcase which is framed by the works of art I just mentioned. Unfortunately...I also have a jumble of gemstones and wire and all sorts of other crafty things that I have not yet figured out a way to efficiently and effectively organize. In a year I will be moving to my own place, which will definitely have a dedicated art studio. I also have a drum and rattle on my dresser, as well as an abalone shell and smudge stick of white sage and sweetgrass. My bedroom, in spite of the current clutter, is my sanctuary and place of peace.

I'm currently working on a new Femme cave since I last posted!
It will be a while before it gets painted or properly decorated but the stage of purging and arranging is super fun. So far I've constructed a little vanity area so I can scatter my glittery shadows and lip paints around and there are piles of eyeshadow palettes and various odds-and-ends.
I always keep my makeup brushes in a glass container but I realized I might need to invest in some acrylic boxes or containers until I can get some proper storage. Looking at desk-like furniture from Ikea so that I can have a flat surface with lots of storage without it costing a ton.
I have my bits and baubles hanging around and the hardwood floors are nice on my feet. I've been doing my beauty routines in the bathroom for awhile due to the lighting and ease but it will be SO NICE to get back into a space that is all mine!

i have the incense burning on the shrine and my dog laying across the rug. The filtered light is coming across the crystal hanging in the window throwing 1.5 million tiny rainbows across the room. i have a lit candle next to me which is a rare thing, but i felt like having a candle lit.
There is a globe over there reminding me of all the places i want to go.
The Himalayan Salt lamp is lit, and keeping the air clean.
i am resisting the urge to go to the pool as i am getting my new client booked in and sending communication to them, and invoking good vibes into my space to bring on more abundance.
thats what's happening in my cave at the moment.

Seeing as how I live alone, my whole apartment is my cave but I've been here almost 5 years with only a few pieces on the walls. It's leftover 'stuff' from my childhood but I decided to Hell with that and I went a little bat sh*t crazy in my living room recently.
I have a wall that is approximately 16 feet long. It's a lovely pumpkin color....technically 'sweet carrot' but due to a paint mixing incident at Ace Hardware, it's slightly muted. It's still rich and warm. Anyone that didn't know the story wouldn't notice the difference.
So, that wall has been bare bottomed baby naked this whole time until the past 4-6 weeks. I worked from out to in, and against the wisdom of folks that do this kind of stuff regularly, but it worked for me. I now have a gallery wall chock full of me.....framed artwork, little hanging chachkies, pieces with wise sentiments and inspirational messages, a metal letter K, a few things with sparkle, wooden script words and even some pieces I made myself. It's primarily black and white with splashes of yellow, gold and teal and turquoise, which looks soooo good against the pumpkin. When it was all done, I literally felt like I'd ripped a part of me out and thrown it onto the walls. I had so much anxiety about it throughout the process....again, childhood stuff....but once it was done, there was nothing but relief and pride.
I've made baby steps in this direction in other rooms as well. I have a half bath that will feature artwork found at festivals, except the mirror. I've got two pieces that have been professionally framed and matted and they. are. gorgeous. I just acquired two more pieces this past weekend to go in there. One will need matting and framing and the other was painted onto wood so it can up as is. The remaining pieces are wood mounted mermaids and a starfish. I'm wobbling on the starfish as it's not a festival find but it most definitely goes with the water/ocean flow of the room. Of course, the full bath is also an ocean themed room but the blue is different and the feeling of the room is different. Still pondering that...
My bedroom has only had one piece of artwork up since I moved in. A naked lady painted from the back. I found another piece of another naked lady from the back and they are now sharing the hallway so the bedroom needs love. A lot of it. So I have a hanging LOVE (https://www.google.com/search?q=love+sign+made+from+wood&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwji77mLwILVAhXhx4MKHe9gAQYQsAQIRg&biw=1280&bih=592#tbm=isch&q=heart+love+sign+made+from+wood+michael's&imgrc=W_tlH_yhhvNFtM:&spf=1499819767312) piece. I'm not sure how it got there but the bedroom is going to the birds. Literally. I have a mix mash of festival 'Alice in Wonderland' pieces, Kelly Rae Roberts (https://www.google.com/search?q=love+sign+made+from+wood&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwji77mLwILVAhXhx4MKHe9gAQYQsAQIRg&biw=1280&bih=592#tbm=isch&q=kelly+rae+roberts+wall+art&spf=1499819767315) pieces, a couple of random pieces and now, birds. Lots of freakin' birds and I don't even like the suckers as pets. But I love to listen to them and I find pictures of them to be peaceful so there you go.
My craft room is also growing with art. One wall is nearly finished and I'm itching to put the first piece up on my accent wall. I'm growing more confident in my choices with each piece that goes up and even when things don't quite work out as expected, it's okay.
I don't know what my problem has been here. I've had no problems settling into other places. Maybe it's because I know in my heart of hearts that this is not my home; this isn't where I'm going to settle, but it's where I'm 'stuck' so to speak for the time being. Maybe that is why I've been hesitant to put down roots. Though this isn't permanent, I'm going to be here for at least another couple of years so I might as well get comfy.

I haven't had one in a long time. But my dream one would include loads of books, art/craft/sewing/writing supplies, and lots of vintage and nautical items. I want to have a wall that has a quote or excerpt from a letter or something personal hand-painted in handwriting or a rustic script font.
I don't have one specific zone as such.. I think I got greedy & have turned my entire house into a femme cave... Little touches here & there that make it feel like home....

I think I'm going to. An inexpensive way is to redo a room is to paint some furniture and walls. I have a bedroom dresser (Scandinavian blonde) that's I'm thinking of painting teal with chalk paint. Have been looking at colors and antiquing paint kits today.
When I stopped working I promised myself not to start any big projects this year, especially those that require money, so I'm just looking ... though i've started a queue on Amazon :|
I'm digging these colors, too, and have a least one piece of furniture in each room that I could paint.
