The Telling

The office, finally quiet of the pain it still held...Luciana wrote her last therapy note in long hand and locked the pad in her desk. Thinking of her last client and her body relaxing after the experience of intense sensuality she felt with the beauty, her body still reeling with thought of the beauty.

Luciana turned off the light on her desk feeling sadness with what she already knew she would not do with her date this evening.

This place with it's trees, and gray skies was still a mystery. She got into her car, and turned on the ignition, her thighs still stinging with desire. Luciana pulled the car toward her date's address as she thought of herself as a relic of some other time, a distant place where control of Self was a virtue.

Mariana was already at the door at Luciana's arrival...opened door...helped her in...closed door, still Luciana's thighs were on fire as she got behind the wheel once again.

Luciana looked at Mariana across the table, the candlelight flickering, of course. This woman's green eyes, kind, desirable, as Luciana took in the tone of her eyes, their shape, the brilliance there and felt sacredness at their beauty, and sadness at knowing she would not kiss them, or even acknowledge their want. Luciana had taken Mariana home after dinner had brought itself to its end.

Luciana entered her home and began her next life...the phone rang..."Lu, I just wanted to know that you got home ok." Luciana could hear Mariana's breathing..."Yes, I got home ok. I'm getting to work now, I'll call you tomorrow.", Luciana said even as she thought she would not use the phone for the entire weekend.

Luciana took her jacket off, walked to her palette and immediately relaxed. Taking the cadmium red deep she thought it the color of blood...a good thought...she turned to her painting in progress, of the woman who had sat for it...and remembered the energy between them as Luciana painted her...and now alone, without her it felt safer...controlled...and Luciana grayed down the cadmium red deep and began to paint the lips that she had briefly tasted...and relaxed knowing she would go no further...no further...her need for self control imperative.

The painting went well this night. Luciana looked at herself in the mirror and contemplated her own image. She lived with images, and feelings, made her living sensing, and seeing. She smoothed coconut oil over her face, and the image of Mariana opened before her...Mariana, stunning, sensual. Why did she not take her? All the signals were there.

Luciana gazed at the silver hair riding her temples, and the mirror seemed to open to her thoughts...Mariana, was also gazing at herself in the mirror, wondering, thinking about Luciana and why this night came to such an early ending...Mariana gazed at her body, touched her arms, her breasts, and thought, "I am gorgeous. Why didn't Lu want me?" She felt Lu's energy embrace her at that moment, as if Lu were there touching her, caressing her, but she shook herself out of this fantasy.

Luciana, gazed into the mirror and for an instant felt the impulse to call Mariana...to tell her that she wanted her, desired her at that very moment. Luciana did not call Mariana. Luciana went into her bedroom, and prayed for self-control. She did not sleep soundly that night. Tomorrow she would do her long run.

Luc sees her behind her desk, front office.
Luc opens the door and enters knowing that Claudia
doesn't know what Luc looks like nor that she is coming
to meet her this day.

Luc's gaze is steady, taking in Claudia as she approaches
the front reception desk...Luc wonders what her scent
will be, what temperature her skin at caress?

Luc stands in front of her silently savoring her
beauty with eyes that sense Claudia's surprise, and
feeling the energy of her wetness. Luc walks around
to the entrance of Claudia's station and extends
her hand, Claudia rises as she gives Luc her hand.

Luc draws Claudia to her gently.
Slowly Luc breathes her in, and places lips
warm, and hungry on Claudia's soft shoulder.

Luc then stands back and both look into
each others eyes with the knowing of its promise.

You have a way with words...Luc and Claudia are "dead in the water". This story I've decided not to continue, but who knows, I'm sure Luc is alive and well...smiling...and will have a story to tell.

Until then :rrose:, Greco

Paper and Pen

This seems a beginning of words again...

Writing you...

Sometime if we ever live in a place called our home

I will still write you letters,
even while your in another room,

I will write

So that when I'm no longer there

You will know I have not
left you and that love
never dies.

When I first began this thread my intention was to use words

the videos have been a wonder as I'm a visual person

but the words can "paint" pictures too...

"Musa

Aveces sueño
que te conozco

que te he abrazado
suavemente casi
siempre

que te he besado
tus labios
siempre con locura.

Pero de repente
despierto

y otra vez
sé la verdad

que vives solo
en mí Silencío.

Dedicado a mi Musa"

"Muse"

I sometimes dream
that I know you

that I have embraced you
gently most times

that I kiss your
lips with fury always

Then suddenly
I awaken

And again
I know the truth

that You live
only in
my Silence."

Line is what I love...

I stalk the line in

you.

In the sweet melody
that resonates in its
smooth flowing

thick in some places

thin in its higher voice

No, you do not know me

I stalk the Line.

If I was a musician

the line would sound
a concerto, or better yet

my folkloric melodies
singing across our
generations

bringing me back

sculpt me a sculpture

Or lace your fingers around

look deep into my eyes

and tell me you
are woman enough for me.

Hermosa, sé que lo eres

I know you know it

Now show me how.

How lightening catches fire
between your lips -

between your legs -

Bringing you to me

Grace

I seek no improvement
only translation
of your Beauty

so thousands can see
what I have tasted today.

I confess to have been
sacrilegious

in my attempt to glean
your Radiance

to continue the "work" of art

you already are...

In your culture

you, a woman who has walked
this Earth for
over sixty years
is thought to be
the other side
of done.

But in mine

we Know the Secret

that you hold in your
body

the knowledge
of all the pain
of loss

And the sensuality
of joy, love, pleasure,
and passion.

So, as I assist you off
of the model stand
and take you into
my arms

I know that you know
where we will go and
what ecstasy we will
move in rhythm to

And there is no regret
when I plunge into you

your body has the strength
of lifetimes, and the memory
of this thrusting you, and only
you could know what I feel

as I rise and plunge
deeper still you are not afraid
to look deeply into my eyes
as you clutch me to you
roughly as well

we rough ride together

through our lives gone before
finally arrive at our
Present

gleaming with sweat
breathless at this travel

You know the secret of distance.

Studio Visit: New Model

A ring at the door, putting down my tool I go answer it.
The new model has arrived, I'm glad. Guiding her into
my studio, I show her where she can remove her clothes.
I've petitioned off a small part of my studio for
the models to have a space.

She follows me quietly. I go to another stand and prepare
for a new beginning.

The new model comes into the studio proper, nude, though
that is not how I "see" her; I see her as her most natural Self.
She waits for me to position the chair on the stand, it will be
a sitting pose.

I ask her name. "Elena.", she says.

Elena, sixty-five years old, Russian, and a writer.
Now in this country making ends meet by doing artist
modeling. I "see" her, and want to sculpt her pain, her
confidence, her sense of knowing that none of it matters,
and all of it matters.

Her "knowing" is etched on her face, her body. I don't ask of the pain.
I already know it. I ask about the days of sunshine, and joy in her
Russia, of her writing, how is it coming?

The sculpture takes a life of its own, with her energy, and mine.

Sometimes, many times, it's not about sex at all.

Traditional Spanish Flamenco Music

Flamenco in its strictest sense, is a professionalized art-form based
on the various folkloric music traditions of Southern Spain in
autonomous community of Andalusia, Extremadura and Murcia.
In a wider sense, it refers to these musical traditions and more
modern musical styles which have themselves been deeply
influenced by and become blurred with the development of
flamenco over thepast two centuries. It includes
cante (singing), toque (guitar playing), baile (dance),
jaleo (vocalizations), palmas (handclapping) and
pitos (finger snapping).

The oldest record of flamenco dates to 1774 in the
book Las Cartas Marruecas by José Cadalso. The genre
originated in the music and dance styles of Andalusia, of
much older origin.[3] Flamenco has been influenced by
and become associated with the Romani people in
Spain, however, unlike Romani music in Eastern
Europe, its origin and style is uniquely Andalusian.

In recent years, flamenco has become popular all
over the world and is taught in many non-Hispanic
countries, especially the United States and
Japan. In Japan, there are more flamenco
academies than there are in Spain. On
November 16, 2010, UNESCO declared
flamenco one of the Masterpieces of the Oral
and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Bump...for new readers...

When I first began this thread my intention was to use words

the videos have been a wonder as I'm a visual person

but the words can "paint" pictures too...

"

Musa

Aveces sueño
que te conozco

que te he abrazado
suavemente casi
siempre

que te he besado
tus labios
siempre con locura.

Pero de repente
despierto

y otra vez
sé la verdad

que vives solo
en mí Silencío.

Dedicado a mi Musa"

"Muse"

I sometimes dream
that I know you

that I have embraced you
gently most times

that I kiss your
lips with fury always

Then suddenly
I awaken

And again
I know the truth

that You live
only in
my Silence."

Dedicated to my Muse

La Línea

You don't know me

Line is what I love...

I stalk the line in

you.

In the sweet melody
that resonates in its
smooth flowing

thick in some places

thin in its higher voice

No, you do not know me

I stalk the Line.

If I was a musician

the line would sound
a concerto, or better yet

my folkloric melodies
singing across our
generations

bringing me back

home

to the Sea.

Hablame

Talk to me.

Don't be afraid
of the inevitable -

or better yet draw me
a picture

sculpt me a sculpture

you see I understand
visuals better.

Or lace your fingers around
my neck -

look deep into my eyes

and tell me you
are woman enough for me.

Hermosa, sé que lo eres

I know you know it

Now show me how.

How lightening catches fire
between your lips -

between your legs -
those lips too.

Bringing you to me
I savor your
succulence-

eres como mango -
passionfruit gone awry!

I suck you to
the nth degree

then I spank you
for being so f_cking good -

no sculpting tonight."

Grace

I seek no improvement
only translation
of your Beauty

so thousands can see
what I have tasted today.

I confess to have been
sacrilegious

in my attempt to glean
your Radiance

to continue the "work" of art

you already are...

In your culture

you, a woman who has walked
this Earth for
over sixty years
is thought to be
the other side
of done.

But in mine

we Know the Secret

that you hold in your
body

the knowledge
of all the pain
of loss

And the sensuality
of joy, love, pleasure,
and passion.

So, as I assist you off
of the model stand
and take you into
my arms

I know that you know
where we will go and
what ecstasy we will
move in rhythm to

And there is no regret
when I plunge into you

your body has the strength
of lifetimes, and the memory
of this thrusting you, and only
you could know what I feel

as I rise and plunge
deeper still you are not afraid
to look deeply into my eyes
as you clutch me to you
roughly as well

we rough ride together

through our lives gone before
finally arrive at our
Present

gleaming with sweat
breathless at this travel

You know the secret of distance.

last bump in this night for...new readers...

"Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember
what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible without surrender be on good terms
with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and
listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too
have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to
the spirit. ❦

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain
and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons
than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it
is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is
full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there
is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is
full of heroism.

❦ Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity
and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.

❦ Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering
the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears
are born of fatigue and loneliness.

❦ Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and
the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe
is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him
to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy
confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still
a beautiful world. Be cheerful. ❦ Strive to be happy."

And now in this
cafe...

you

sitting with him

look at me
from afar.

the thunder

the rain

this storm...

I know

that you also

desire

this lesson.

Let me

penetrate you

deep

with

This thunder
of desire
forcing into
you

with the fury
of My storm.

in My arms
I want you
to know me

How long will
you wait to
come to me?

Contrast X Jack Vettriano (李香蘭/Ikanaide )

Jack Vettriano
Born in Fife in 1951, Jack Vettriano has emerged
from the unlikely background of an early working
life in the Scottish coal-fields to become one of
Britain best known contemporary artists; he is
entirely self taught.

Contrast Group Biography
Contrast is a trio with a rare instrumental combination.
Its founding members, Kitty Cheung, violin;
Timothy Sun, Saxophone; Jenny Ng, piano are graduated
Masters students at the Guildhall School of Music and
Drama in London, United Kingdom. They came together
in 2007 with the same vision of creating new sounds
and giving the audience a new and exciting experience
through their performances.

Other Doors

And then there are other doors.

Doors are funny that way you know.

Some doors have away of closing
shortly after being opened

And some doors are revolving
you go through time and time again
repeating the same old ways
the same old dreams
the same old desires until

perhaps you wake up, stop
and close them forever more
Poe not withstanding you simply
do not open them again.

Then there are the doors that stay
closed. What is behind them?
What music could they sing?
What Love could be found.
Nonetheless they remain closed.

Open doors?
But that's another poem
another thread, here or in another
dimension.

Walking to this door, will I turn my
back? Will I open it?
Let's simply call it limbo time.

Until another evening awakens in me
more words, more images, more Love.

Crossing the Barrier

It began with another knock on my studio door
had been waiting for it

the New Model I called for -
I wanted her this afternoon,
Now.

Go to door, open

this New Model comes to me
Full of Life.

As she walks past me the glow
of excitement and expectation
radiates from her every pore
filling my studio with the
freshness of a Spring rain

her black eyes shadowed by her
long, thick lashes

doe eyes with a story to tell.

I show her where she can undress

she asks if she can lie down for a minute -
a minute?! I want to work.

And yet, this New Model has come to me
Full of Life, seven months worth of life
growing within

she undresses, I show her to my bed
I say it's ok - put a fresh sheet before
she lays down - Sun streaming in

I return to the clay to prepare for after
the "minute".

I build armature, roll the air out of lumps
of clay...

she's calling, "Please return, please..."
The clock says the minute has turned to
one hour - I return to my bed, and the two
lives there

"Please, please lay with me, hold me."

Stunned, I look at her precious body
Full and carrying Life

Time turns in on itself and I remember
another...

to be continued...(f)

Crossing the Barrier

against my Will, my heart opens

it's door now ajar I get on my bed
reaching for her

My left arm supporting her head, my body
flush with her back a heavenly spoonful
she is

she pulls my right arm, and places my
right hand on her well formed bottom
taking my middle finger in her hand
saying, "Please, put it in me, please..."

her soft pleading voice quickening
my pulse - I reach back to my night
stand

"No, use your mouth.", she says

Now in trance I put my right fingers
in my mouth and cover them with
my spit..."Please now..." she begs

I place my middle finger first at the
entrance to her ass...she pushes
against it, my other fingers feel
the wet of her p-ssy

I am careful but steady, she on her side

long to mount her but will not because
of the seven months of belly between us

she rocks against me, my hand now
finding more give all my fingers in her now
I plunge slowly gently f-cking this Beauty
with all the compassion I can hold to

"Yes, yes..." she whispers as her back
and thighs glisten with a light dew -

she smells so good my head is throbbing
I yearn to ravish her

but will not hurt her, no.

My mouth finding her neck, shoulders
I kiss, suck, whisper against her
"girl, come now".

she grabs onto my left arm nails digging
into my forearm as she comes intensely but
quietly, soft whimpering

she has crossed the barrier into me
I hold her as she trembles

telling her gently to remain still
I slowly, carefully remove my fingers
one by one with each exit I feel
her muscle closing around the remaining
until it too is removed gently...

We lay for awhile hearing the traffic outside
I hold her thinking how this one has opened
a door in my heart I kept closed for so long

I must work.

Later...Sculpting her I don't rob her of energy
I join it - and we create another...

the Pregnant One full of life
Full of another Life...
we'll have the time of our lives.

Here is a story

hard won through time
against the body and soul
of my woman most loved.

There are no questions.
She answered them all.

So how to love a woman
you ask?

Graciously,

ferociously,

with no holds barred -

take her with your

Whole Soul -

Lift her to a place
she has never been
before you.

Leave your ego behind -
look into her eyes and

surrender to the Beauty
she is now

You may
never get another
chance.

Love her totally Now.

She is here, You are here -
touch her, Now.

World Music literally transcends culture and language, which
real music is supposed to do. I don't understand a word she
sings, but it doesn't matter at all. What matters is her
musical instrument (voice) - yes, she is (was, unfortunately) one
of the few singers who can be classed as vocalists. She stands
on the stage and just sings - no frills. And her audiences
appreciate it, knowing and wanting nothing but the best part
of this amazing artist. I've been listening to her music for hours
for the past 3 days."

Resurrecting Luc...stay "tuned".

A draft...

Gustav Mahler - Adagietto from 5th Symphony | Vienna Philharmonic, Leonard Bernstein [HD]

so..."Gustav Mahler was in love with Alma Schindler, the woman who would have become his
wife (“The most beautiful girl in Vienna”). He keeps from declaring his love, so, one day, he composes
this music and sends her the score, without even adding a word. She sits at the piano, plays
the music, and answers: "Now you should come here." I think it can be considered
the most beautiful love declaration of all time." Gerardo Coluccini

"Every night instead of watching the violence on the nightly
TV news I have been listening to Lenny's performance of Mahler's symphonies.
My favorite movement is from Symphony Nr. 5, the Fourth Movement, the Adagietto.
This might be considered a love song with bitter-sweet lyricism but it is much more
than that. It is about the healing love coming from the cosmos connecting through
to us and everything we embrace. There are also meditative verses in Rudolf Steiner's
verses, for example in "Guidance In Esoteric Training" that captures the light of the sun
as does Mahler's poem and music in the Adagietto. All three, Mahler's Adagietto, Steiner's
verses and Lenny’s performance as seen on this video, capture the soulful healing that is
needed for all of us to be friends and hold the World together." Ken Simpson

Luc ponders...

Hy could hear snow flakes falling, and their soft gentle landing.
Luc didn't share this talent with anyone, not even with Mariana.
Yes, Mariana. The thought of her at home brought hym a warm feeling.

But, at the end of this day, Luc looked out the window after hys last client.
The one hy called Beauty was ready to terminate. Luc felt sad, and good at
the same time. Beauty had come a long way with her courage, strength, and
resilience, she had survived and now had began to thrive in her life.

Luc had finished the last notes and locked them in hys desk. While falling
flakes caught hys attention, thoughts of his friend Bern surfaced.

Bern had had a strange competition with Luc. Little did Luc and Bern
know that they had been talking with the same femme. But, they
had indeed met the same femme online.

Luc thought back to that year of still reeling from the loss of
his wife, and working 24/7 to survive.

Bern shared of this femme hy had met. Bern talked about
her beauty, her intelligence. Luc shared hy had met an exciting
femme as well.

The office began to get cold from the snowstorm outside
Luc's office...how long ago had it been? Hy began to
remember...But was brought back to the present by a call.
Cell phones where the thing now and Mariana called to ask
how long it would take for Luc to get home. Luc told her hy
would run home, and would be 30 mins .

Luc closed the shutters on the window, and changed into
hys running clothes and running shoes all the while thinking
about Bern. Hys friend, Bern.

Luc breathed the cold air into hys lungs and began the run
home. Hy thought about home, and Mariana, and the home
they had created together so many years ago. And, hy thought
about hys friend Bern and the home hy thought hy was creating
with a femme they didn't know was speaking to both of them at
the same time with online.

Luc had always had this extra sense of things beyond things.

It always helped hym in hys work with people suffering from
pain, and healing would grow as sure as the Spring would arrive.

Hy knew it was a calling, and hys purpose in this life.
And, hy loved it, "walking with people" for a bit on their path of
this life. But this femme had not made a ripple on his psychic radar.

This night as Luc ran home, hy recalled Bern's concerned voice
when last Luc spoke with hym, "Man, I don't know. She's moved in
her whole family. I can't get a word in edge wise! And, ok, no sex either.
Man, I made a mistake big time.
I'm sorry bro, I thought I had gotten one over on you.
But, it's me, I messed up. Wish I could change it."
Luc attempted to soften Bern's mistake.
"You know it's only the
beginning, give her some time."

But, time was up for Bern.

Luc discovered the fact of Bern's sudden death online. Hy cried from
disbelief. How hys friend was used and abused by a femme who used
butches easily, without remorse, without conscious.

Bern had been a good person, and a good friend.

Luc heard the crunching of his running shoes against the snow as
hy ran home. Coming to their street, hy saw the lights on in their home.
Mariana's shadow against the curtain moving inside the sanctuary
they had created. Luc heard the snow tell hym hy was home.

Home.

This night hy rang the bell.
"Honey, did you forget your keys?", said Mariana.
The woman, hair the color of night, now with gorgeous
silver streaks telling the story of their years together.
"Yeah babe, I forgot my keys.", and hy took her in
hys arms, and kissed her warmly, deeply, grateful for
having her in hys life.

"Honey, I have dinner ready for you, take your running
shoes, and stuff off and come eat.", said Mariana.
Luc took a quick shower and put on a crisp shirt, and
jeans, went to the dining room and lit their candles.
Mariana brought in the piping hot plates.
Luc said, "Amor, I love you.", as hy went to her and
held her close. Mariana said, "Honey, you ok?"
"I'm more than ok my love, I'm more than ok."

The "gift" told hym they would live a long life together, a
long love and beyond, and hy felt grateful.

Luc thought about the loss of his friend Bern.
Hy had lost his life thinking hy had won a woman that they
were, unbeknownst to them, both talking to online.
Such was gay life now.

Dedicated to my friend Bern, RIP Buddy

Jacqueline du Pre & Daniel Barenboim - Elgar Cello Concerto

"Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85, his last notable work, is a cornerstone of the solo cello repertoire. Elgar composed it in the aftermath of the First World War, when his music had already gone out of fashion with the concert-going public. In contrast with Elgar's earlier Violin Concerto, which is lyrical and passionate, the Cello Concerto is for the most part contemplative and elegiac.

The first performance was a debacle because Elgar and the performers had been deprived of adequate rehearsal time. The work did not achieve wide popularity until the 1960s, when a recording by Jacqueline du Pré caught the public imagination and became a classical best-seller."

other way...well, play this...smiling

Il Divo - Adagio (Live Video)

[I]Il Divo add their excellent voices to my favorite
adagio by Tomaso Albinoni...play this one as well,
but come to think of it, let's do it while I'm alive!

Much more fun that way...smiling, Greco

No sé dónde encontrarte
No sé cómo buscarte
Pero siento una voz que
el viento me habla de ti
Esta alma sin corazón
Te esperara Despacio
Las noches sin tu piel
Los sueños sin estrellas
imágenes de tu rostro
Que pasan inesperadamente
Me dan esperanzas todavia
Que te encontrare Despacio
Cierro los ojos y te veo
Encuentro el camino que
Me lleve lejos de la agonía
Siento latir en mi
esta música que
He inventado para ti
Si usted sabe donde encontrarme
Si sabes dónde buscarme
Abrazame con la mente
El sol parece apagado
Enciende tu nombre en el cielo
Dime que estás ahí
Es Lo que quiero
Vivir en ti
El sol parece apagado
Abrazarme con la mente
Estoy Perdido sin ti
Dime que estas y
lo creeré
música eres
despacio

-----------------------------------------
Non so dove trovarti
Non so come cercarti
Ma sento una voce che
Nel vento parla di te
Quest'anima senza cuore
Aspetta te
Adagio
Le notti senza pelle
I sogni senza stelle
Immagini del tuo viso
Che passano all'improvviso
Mi fanno sperare ancora
Che ti troverò
Adagio
Chiudo gli occhi e vedo te
Trovo il cammino che
Mi porta via
Dall'agonia
Sento battere in me
Questa musica che
Ho inventato per te
Se sai come trovarmi
Se sai dove cercarmi
Abbracciami con la mente
Il sole mi sembra spento
Accendi il tuo nome in cielo
Dimmi che ci sei
Quello che vorrei
Vivere in te
Il sole mi sembra spento
Abbracciami con la mente
Smarrita senza di te
Dimmi chi sei e ci crederò
Musica sei

Pablo Alborán - "Por fin" (Videoclip oficial)

Greco

"Qué intenso es esto del amor,
qué garra tiene el corazón, sí,
jamás pensé que sucediera así.

Bendita toda conexión
entre tu alma y mi voz,
y jamás creí que me iba a suceder a mí.

Por fin lo puedo sentir,
te conozco y te reconozco
que por fin sé lo que es vivir
con un suspiro en el pecho,
con cosquillas por dentro y
por fin sé porqué estoy así.

Tú me has hecho mejor,
mejor de lo que era,
y entregaría mi voz
a cambio de una vida entera.

Tú me has hecho entender
que aquí nada es eterno,
pero tu piel y mi piel
pueden detener el tiempo.

No he parado de pensar

Tú me has hecho mejor,
mejor de lo que era,
y entregaría mi voz
a cambio de una vida entera.

Tú me has hecho entender
que aquí nada es eterno,
pero tu piel y mi piel
pueden detener el tiempo.

...Mejor de lo que era...
...Que aquí nada es eterno..."

I listened to his talk (up to 43 min. of it - had other things to do, so did not listen to the Q&A with interviewer), and I must say, while I have also seen many of the things that Hedges talked about, he leaves untouched the entire subject of "beliefs" per se, of which he himself is part of - being an ordained minister - and, insofar as I am concerned, also part of the problem, if not the entire part of the problem - beliefs in themselves belie "the present". Critical thinking of outward circumstances (for those of us that do have a mind) is relatively easy. The miracle happens when one questions one's own mindset.
There is also the problem that never in his talk, and I am saying this most respectfully, did he in any way talk about solutions. The buck always stops with the person holding the buck, right? His entire life is always, as most Americans would agree, supported by his belief system and the American system validates and encourages having beliefs, which in itself - in his case - validates his lifestyle and choices, being an ordained minister. Just my two little cents...
If one throws a pebble into a pond, there are always ripples. But, when one throws a pebble into one's own pond, it is only then that it has an effect on the entire pond. Until that is done, no amount of words - however truthful - will alter the movement and in the case of the American trend - stagnation of the pond. We have all seen this wilful blindness to this even from the beginnings of the understanding gleaned from Rachel Carson's "Silent Spring" up to Al Gore's attempt to awaken some intelligence. I am saying this since I have seen that the human brain is connected to all other brains. I do feel and think that true change cannot come about outwardly, but must begin with oneself. Until that is done, I must state quite emphatically that the movement of the pond (of the course and meandering of the stream) of history will continue its abysmal downward spiral.
Always, I must say, thanks for putting up posts of intelligent talks, and always food for reflection. [One of the meanings of the word "meditation" derives from its origin - the Sanskrit word "ma", which literally means, thinking, pondering, considering, reflecting... - the reflection of oneself in that very pond being a key meaning - among its other meanings... something which btw is not mentioned to people who profess to be studying meditation.]

Charley, your points in response to Chris Hedges's speech in Canada are well taken this morning.
And I appreciate your considered and insightful response. I would invite you to research his life
and experiences - as with anyone - to understand what may lie underneath what we see and hear
externally, if you care to go deeper in understanding this person.

Thanks for your response, but no. He does not interest me. If it would be an interest, it would only add to my knowledge about x or y and constitute the pleasure of entertainment. - Not that I deny pleasure or entertainment, but such things have their place. - I do not in any way, shape or form accept that knowledge is the way to truth or wisdom. Knowledge only begets further knowledge, not understanding, nor wisdom. It is only useful in certain fields, such as medicine and other technological fields, and the incredible advances and cures therein. In the field of not knowing, there is only understanding. Knowledge is based on the past (all scientific knowledge builds on past discovery), while understanding is in the moment.
I think that it is impossible to get to the bottom of another person, but it is only possible to look at oneself and get to the bottom of oneself. In other words, I think it is impossible to "know" another completely. One can only "know" oneself. If it were impossible to get to the bottom of oneself, then meditation would in itself be a meaningless activity, and devolve into meaningless entertainment and navel-gazing - which for me is just not true. What meditation has made me understand is that all the answers to who were are, to what we are, can only be found within.
[As an aside, I have interacted with quite a few in real time who have believed that they were actually doing meditation - according to this or that technique - and then they come to the inevitable conclusion that life is meaningless and then they began to laugh, to which I could only frown, since I understood that what they thought was meditation was not meditation at all. All of which had made me understand that it is all too easy to get lost in illusions, and the mind can and does play tricks with itself.]
What I am saying is that all answers to human questions, to the history of humanity, are readily available within. I agree with Socrates who said that the unexplored life is not worth living. "The claim is that only in striving to come to know ourselves and to understand ourselves do our lives have any meaning or value." as per:

https://www.sparknotes.com/philosophy/apology/section7/

Hence, the phrase "Know Thyself". :)
