View Full Version : Rachel Maddow Rocks Hard!!!
Just need to post it. How about that butch dyke brainiac!!!
Just the fact that she is on tv and telling the truth gives me hope for this planet.
Content of her character, not the color of her sheets (to badly paraphrase Dr. MLK today)

I like Maddow a lot. But, what's up with making alcoholic beverages on tv? I mean, the first time I thought it was amusing. Now it is just old, and it makes me think she is a big drinker...which I don't particularly like. I don't think it reflects well on her.
I respect her brain so much, she's a PhD, she's the first openly gay Rhodes scholar, etc., etc. But, dang Maddow, quit with the booze on tv. I don't care what you do in your personal life, but I think it sends a bad message to be mixing cocktails on your show.
I still love the show!

I love Rachel Maddow in all her fabulousness. She looks stunningly hot in her business suits, even hotter in her jeans and Chucks with her hipster glasses, and she's got the sexiest brain on TV. And I love the cocktail segments. We went out and got all the ingredients to make mojitos last weekend because she taught me how to make them. I love people who, like me, are concerned with doing things right.
Has anybody noticed that she pronounces the end of her last name "oh" like "meadow" and that most everybody else pronounces it madd-ow (rhymes with cow)?

I like Maddow because she loves dogs, is very curious about all sorts of things, is humble, is smart and well-educated and she cracks me up with all of the faces she makes.
I get such a kick when she jumps out of her chair and runs around and you see that she is really wearing her beat up jeans, the big butch leather belt and sneakers but on top she has her "work" tv jacket on.
And she is so polite to guests even when she clearly disagrees with them. I get the feeling that she could cut anyone to ribbons with her knowledge of the facts, her debating skill and her intelligence, but that she doesn't because she is too well-mannered to do so to someone she has on as a guest.
I like when she tosses in occasional remarks about her parents or Susan or her dog. She hasn't let her success go to her head and I admire that.
PS-Ever notice what long fingers she has? (I will leave that alone, but it's true!)

Her love of classic cocktails is one of her more endearing qualities for me. I love watching videos of her on YouTube where she mixes drinks. She clearly has a love of the lore around cocktails and their origins, and the butch can mix a mean cocktail. *swoon*

have to say I admire Maddow a LOT!! Looking foreward to her and richard Engels upcoming special on the US decade of war in the first decade of the 21st Century.
Really like some that some of her regular analysts have new shows like Melissa V. Harris-Perry (buying her new book, Sister Citizen: Shame, Stereotypes, and Black Women in America soon).
I hated the blog criticisms of her partner- digs at her weight by mofo politics- but what could we expect?
It feels good to have a butch woman being just as she is on a news program that millions watch.

Maddow,
I hate when you aren't on. I don't care who fills in for you, it bugs the heck out of me that you guys don't post that you'll have a guest host on the show in advance. At least then I would be prepared and be able to decide whether or not to stop what I'm doing to come in to see you.
You're my current dyke pop icon and I'm sorry, but Chris Hayes, Melissa Harris-Perry or whomever, just don't cut it. I can watch any old political pundit at any time.
I choose to stop what I'm doing to watch you because you're a butch dyke political pundit with brains and a progressive mind and a clear, simple way of articulating complex ideas on a major tv channel.
I'm sure the femmes have additional items on their list of reasons for watching you, and I bet they are just as disappointed when you're not on.
Heck, I'd serioulsy rather watch repeats of you on the show than a guest host...unless you can get Barney Frank to sit in. OK, maybe Mariska Hargitay would be acceptable, too, on occasion.
And yet another vacation? WTH?
Kindly work more and vacation less.

I like Melissa Harris-Perry because in a way, I feel like she's the only regular MSNBC pundit who can match Rachel in the smarts department. I love her brain, but I don't want to take a tumble with her, if you know what I mean.
I miss the days when Rachel would have Ana Marie Cox on the show because the flirting between them was so hot and not at all subtle.

Oh, I LIKE Melissa Harris-Perry, very much....as a guest. I just don't like anyone else as a guest host. Since I hardly watch any tv, and I actually stop what I am doing sometimes to go to the tv and put Maddow on, I get bummed when it isn't her.
When I see that her goofy, nerd self is off fishing with her Dad again, while I am home in Jersey waiting to be entertained after a long, hard day in the sand box, I get cranky. Well, OK....maybe part of that could also be because my own Dad inconsiderately left the planet before I was ready for him to do so.
PS-I obviously actually think she deserves a ton more money, staff and vacations. I think it is great when she mentions Susan, her dog, her parents and little stuff from her dyke life. To me that's part of the charm of seeing one of my own up there on the "tv machine". ;)

I wish I knew why this post bugs the shit out of me. It seems, I dunno, condescending, wagging a finger in her face, somehow some kind of 12 step guilt/shame/denial meme.....
it's the idea that a stranger would suggest that a grown woman should be careful of her behavior...as if it's any of your business and it assumes she is not aware of the fact that a very small number of people have issues with their brain chemistry and alcohol.

Yeah, do you have a twitter account?
If so, all you do is search on "#maddow" <----- without the quote marks, when the show is on. Then you will see what the snarky tweeps, mostly fans, are saying about the lameass guests she is politely ripping apart.
Or if she shouts out "Refreshingly fact-free!" or something, everyone starts tweeting stuff like #maddowswag or "my next bumper sticker" and stuff. The fan jokes are great, you can imagine. It's a blast.
Also, her show tweets stuff to the fans during the show, links and stuff, and you do it all on your PC if you want to. I don't have a smart phone. As a matter of fact my phone (my NEW phone, mind you) is exceedingly dumb, and I love using twitter, so I do it on my PC while watching tv, mostly for #Maddow and #Yankees.

Deborah-
You've made multiple negative posts all over the site since joining here and I am receiving reports from other members concerned that you are trolling.
It's clear that you have some political ideas that you feel strongly about and that's fine but I do hope you find some threads on this site where you can contribute positively.
Thanks,
