Tell me about your favorite all time martini recipe.

I like lemon drops and chocolitini's.

I invented one once...

Bantini

1 shot of Shakers Vodka

1 shot of wit

1 shot of snark

6 month ban:weedsmoke:

I used to love Appletinis.

2 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Apple Schnapps
1 oz. Vermouth

And, although people think that a round slice of apple floating in the martini is a good idea, it's not. It's better to have a curl of apple peel, or a slice of apple on the rim.

Key Lime Martini

2 oz Stoli Vanil vodka
1 oz Rose's lime juice
1 oz half-and-half

Pour all three ingredients into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a twist of lime, and serve:bolt:

I love pomegranate martinis. I have a great recipe for them .

One designated driver
One local bar
One dedicated bartender
One stool
One mouth

Use designated driver to get to local bar. Flirt with dedicated bartender as you find your stool. Open your mouth and say, "Pomegranate Martini, please."

Repeat as necessary or until the stool slides out from under you.

I find that when I order the martini is bigger than when my honey orders. Now why is that?

These beverages you reference here are "cocktails" served in martini glasses. I do love a good bantini, though.

I am tolerant of the "Vodka Martini," but there is only one true martini, and it is made with gin.

Mine is Bombay Sapphire, shaken with copious ice, poured over a chilled glass and served with a twist of lemon.

Don't argue.

I tend to free pour my martinis :eyebat: so you need big glasses

But my fav is as follows:

two parts Godiva white chocolate liquer, one part Stolis vanilla vodka and one part espresso (cold). Shake liberally in a martini maker, pour in large martini glass (see above) and dust with pure cocoa powder. Don't use the hot chocolate powder it isn't nearly as nice. :cheerleader:

Dry Vermouth swished around in the glass and poured out
Shaken, not stirred
at least 3 olives, no onions

on occasion, just a tiny bit of olive juice (dirty martini)....

or put the gin in the freezer until it gets a little thicker and just swig out of the bottle..........return to freezer....and repeat as needed.........

I don't drink alcohol anymore and I do miss a good martini.......just made my mouth water typing the recipe........laughin........

Amen , except to the Bombay. Aromatically, it is to taffy what Tanquery is to juniper.

I will grant that speaking your opinion isn't necessarily arguing, but that calling it "truth" is indeed questionable.

Sapphire does have a very distinct aroma, but I don't find it sweet. Otherwise, I prefer Tanqueray almost exclusively.

And snicker is a candy bar.

So there.

Pour all three ingredients into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a twist of lime, and serve:bolt:
I make a variation on this -- no idea on proportions since I don't really measure but do it to taste:
Mix some fresh lime juice or bottled key lime juice with a couple of Tbsp of sweetened condensed milk, add vanilla vodka or regular vodka plus a touch of vanilla, mix in some pineapple juice (I've done it without but even just a bit really helps to pull together the flavors), shake, strain, serve.

Yummmmmmm.

To make:

Combine 1oz vodka, 31/2 oz chocolate liqueur, and splash of brandy in an ice filled shake. Strain into 2 chilled glasses

Optional rim garnish: crushed red hots or Hot Tamales...
