Good Morning.

Couple of times last night and this a.m. I clicked on the "button" to thank someone and had one of the following happen:

1 All the other icons next to that "thanks" button disappeared

2 My name didn't appear below the post I thanked. The other names tha were there just before I clicked "thanks" disappeared as well

OR

3 Been logged off and had to log in again, password and all.

The first 2 usually happen simultaneously. Reloading the page brings everything back to normal, as if I hadn't clicked the "thanks" at all.

None of the posts I "thanked" last night have my name below them either.

I'm using an iPad2. Is it me or you? In either case, am I concerned?

After posting the above I clicked on "user CP" and was bumped off again.


Could be the iPad (button disappearing and such). For the logging in and out issue, are you checking the "Remember Me?" button? That is meant to keep you constantly logged in.

The avatar issue may be related to the gallery issue (members may notice that they cannot upload images; I think it may be due to a migration our internet provider did recently). I'll try to see what I can do for that.

Why can't I play games on my iPad in the Arcade? I never use my computer anymore but think the games are only accessible on a computer.

Is that the reason? Can they be changed in any way to include an iPad?

Because the games are flash and not supported. And there is no way to change it to play on the iPad.

The answer to 1 is no. They cannot even look at your profile.

As for question 2, that's a little fuzzy. Because guests cannot look at pictures, the Google search cannot crawl through and find them. That said, there is nothing that prevents an user from copying it and pasting it (this can be done by someone with some knowledge of HTML).

Rule of thumb: if you do not want it out there, do not post it anywhere!

Yes - but this only speaks to "lost passwords". I think the problem is that the email has changed therefore they can't get a re-set link because of the email change. Thanks.

Um, I developed a new issue with chat that I never encountered before.

When I open the chat page, it is all scrunched into a 2 inch display at the top of the page and part of the log in is cut off as well.

Never saw this before.

Have emptied cache which does expand it to normal proportions on the first try but it reverts back to the mini display the next time.

Am using IE.

Any clue why this might be happening?

What version of IE? Have you added any add-ons or anything? Sounds like some settings aren't being kept.

Im using ie 10. Apparently it is a compatibility issue. When I activate compatibility view, the problem resolves. :|

I had been using Photobucket (as I always have) and decided to save the photo to my PC and try uploading from there. It worked!

I don't know why Photobucket uploads aren't working.

RECONNECT IN blah blah seconds, tried to reconnect but won't load again. gonna clear cookies AGAIN. It's not only happening to me, but others in chat too are seeing the same thing happen.

I've restarted the Chat Server. Hopefully that will help. If not, the issue may lie with the chat provider and we may have to wait until their server calms down.

hey there! I was just curious about the status of the chat servers these days. There have been several times in the last few days that I have tried to log in to chat and it comes up and says its unavailable with a link to the 123chat website. Other times it will pop up and be a blank screen and in the bottom left it will say waiting for host blah blah blah and sometimes it says connecting, but then says failure to connect and gets me nowhere.

Also the times that chat has actually been up and running it is lagging really badly and kicking loads of us in and out all at once.

I'm having problems with chat as well. I can only get in on my tablet via chrome, it's not working with chrome or ie on my laptop. I've had intermittent problems for two days.

Am currently using Internet Explorer, my kindle has NO problem quoting or posting.

Maybe the ancient cpu is the problem? No worries. I will just quit quoting posts with images.

I already addressed this in the other thread. I've asked them to look into it but it's the server provider that is having issues. You will have to wait until they address whatever the issue is.

Not unless we upgrade the site to version 5. That requires a major change to the site and is a huge undertaking that would require some coordination between Medusa and myself. We've talked about it in the past but our concern is the look and feel for the site and keeping that. (from a navigation point of view)

And I had replied above. Did you do those steps that I asked you to? This is a browser/computer issue (your computer). There is something that is holding those settings in place. Another option is to try a different browser.

Do you have anti-virus software installed? It's not the java that likely needs updating but Flash. Can you check that you have the latest version of Adobe Flash http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Alternatively, Google's Chrome browser already has this feature as part of the browser.

This laptop is brand new worked great then one day a few months ago it started acting weird on his site only ~ I have no plug ins and nortons 360 antivirus system . I can use either IE or google chrome to come n ~ Ido use both and the same situation still happens .

Peculiar thing today. The site won't let me log out, I was trying to sign out about 6 hours ago. Everything else on the site worked just that one button not responding, trying again now, same thing.

That sounds browser or ISP related. Something on your end is caching information and not refreshing it to reflect what you've actually done. Try logging in and out with a different browser to see if the effect is repeated.

Thought that might be it. Just for grins, I let it sit overnight and then tried it without changing anything this morning and it worked fine. So, mystery to me.

Next time I'll wait a bit longer before sounding any alarms.

For the last few days each time I click on the icon to post a picture I am thrown off the forum. I access BFP via iPad or iPhone and have never had this issue before.

I've tried logging out (which I don't usually do) but it's still happening.

This has been a perpetual problem for 3+ days.

ButchFemme Planet kept freezing on my iPad this evening. Other sites are ok.

It froze on a post I made on the CIJS thread and I couldn't delete it, I could not preview it.

Finally, after hitting submit, it took but it posted the same post 3 times!

Is there any way, or is it possible, that you would be able to delete two of the duplicates, just for the sake of everyone forced to see the same post 3 times?

KISS. Don't overcomplicate the search. Use the advanced search options and be moderately specific but not so much that you'll eliminate all of your options. Don't try the full title of the thread. Keyword searches garner better results. If you know the thread has been in existence for a couple of years it's probably safe to assume it has at least 25 posts and make sure to mark whether you are looking for key words in the posts or in the title and make sure that you actually use the correct words to do the key word searches. That helps.

I'm subscribed to well over 2000 threads, so it's often much easier to do a search than to try to go through my subscribed threads link. Muuuuuuch easier.

In my infinite wisdom I decided to alter the `time` to European in my...whatever its called....so it showed the time here when I was actually posting where I was....but now I have posted and my post showed up further back up the thread, not last post, I am showing up as posting before people that I actually posted well after....and I now I cant remember what `time area` was the default setting I originally changed it from, which I want to reset it to......:hamactor:

I can't see YouTube videos posted by myself or anyone else. This started shortly after Microsoft made me upgrade to Windows 10 and my tech suggested strongly that I use Windows Edge instead of Internet Explorer so it's been about 3 weeks now.

I see the boxes but they are solid black and I can't click on them or do anything other than quote the post to get the URL and then pull it up in YouTube. I have no issues with YouTube when I go on it. It's just the links and just on this site.

Any suggestions?

FYI: I'm using Apple products and I can see most videos, though I can't see videos that include any text to the left of the equal sign in the URL. Other than that, I can review videos on any of my devices using Safari or Firefox.

I have the opposite problem. I checked or unchecked the box (whichever it was, it was a long time ago) to not receive certain notifications because I was getting emails for new posts on threads I didn’t want to receive any on. And it didn’t stop them. They still come in and I know I had done it right. So I think those boxes are broken.

Actually, the 'undoing' happens once or so a year. Not sure why but they've always been able to correct it when they get around to it. Once you post in a thread, you'll get notifications so you would have to update your list every time you post in a brand new thread. Maybe those threads just really like you. :)

Or if you are double clicking the THANKS button, that would happen as it's a toggle. Thanks on, thanks off.

Like Collette said, if you want to leave a message for someone privately, click the REPUTATION button, type your message and say OK when it asks if you'd like to send it to that person. Then you can click the THANKS button and have your screen name appear under their post publicly. It's alphabetical order R and then T.
