View Full Version : Say Anything Nice Today!

Lately it seems everything is going so negative. We all tend to be hard on ourselves and others at times. This thread is devoted to saying anything
nice
about yourself, or someone else today! (Don't wait until tomorrow!!)
ie, I just made a beautiful lavender wand, I feel amazing!
(It can be anything, you did, didn't do, want to do soon, a talent you have or one you secretly want, leave a nice note for someone here..the sky's the only limit!

Great thread idea kittygrrl!
Two Blue Herons landed on my roof today. I found out they can live to be 15 years old and they live in "colonies." Watching them fish in the ravine out my back deck is a thing of beauty. They are nothing short of majestic.

I would also add, I appreciate the varying opinions here on BfP. Many speak with such verbal alacrity, very impressive!

My Mother was a painter. After her death, I collected what was left of her unsold or undistributed paintings, sketches, drawings, drafts, scribbled ideas, bits and pieces and put them in a series of portfolios she had kept ... and stored them away to give to my daughter, her granddaughter...when the time seemed right.
My daughter recently told me that I'm about to be a grandmother. I decided the time is now right but because they live in Australia, I figured I should spread the art haul out over time: sending some, bringing some with me when I visit. So I started sorting through it.
And there it was... my grade school art, drawings, colourings...a mini portfolio full of bits of my childhood that she had kept and slipped inside her own portfolio some 65 years before. She had done what I had done with my own daughter's art...and now these 3 generations of art will be sent to Australia to be the heritage of the fourth generation of this surviving family. This is a miraculous and happy story.

I love having a certification. Even though it is a CNA certification, I feel more in control of my life and career. I no longer have to settle for a low paying job, that has no growth potential. My next goal is to become a medical billing specialist :)
I also applied for a CNA/Administrative Assistant position with a local hospital.

How lucky you are. I should probably check if we have any pelicans here. Canada Geese don't look anything like pelicans and they are a bit "messy" but they are a magnificent sight when they migrate in formation...we love them "as long as they keep moving" lol.

I saw an ad for a talk on Mindfulness so decided to attend. Turned out it was someone making a presentation at a Toastmasters Club meeting and was just the part of the evening where people have a chance to make a presentation and learn/practise that skill. Though I've no real interested in the Toastmasters program, I have to say I have never been in a more supportive, positive environment...analysis and critiques by all attendees but ALWAYS with the positive purpose of helping the speaker improve their skills...great way to spend an evening, everyone feeling they benefitted... now if only I wanted to become a public speaker lol

I have to admit going to KILLER HEELS ...The Art of The High Heeled Shoe showing in Pittsburgh Pa this past Sunday ( August 7th ) at the Frick Art & Historical Center was quiet enjoyable, and it was not just because of the company I was in, it was actually the high heeled shoes and the history along with some rather strange short video clips.......amazing designs, not only classy, but provoking, stylish, ancient, beautiful, nasty, sexual and dangerous and powerful. Of course seeing some that were worn by the likes of Lady Gaga and others were quite interesting also. I am sincerely glad that I went.

What a story I could tell if I were a pebble
taken from sediment and sent on this journey...
How long it took me to travel from place a to b....
What have I become ?
A rock on the beach ?
Part of a rock wall ?
part of the soothing blanket of beach sand ...
made up by my smaller cousins....
Or maybe just a paperweight...
because someone took me home and treasured me ?

I must confess that sometimes I read posts a little too quickly and am mystified but then I just shrug and, wanting to be supportive and positive, I tell myself: "They must have had a good reason."
This to say that I could not understand why you were taping bubble gum to the classroom floor.
I thought about it for a while. First, I wondered why bubble gum needed to be taped at all. Then I decided it was a brilliant teaching moment: a civics class and a lesson on being environmentally responsible by showing kids how it horrid it is when you step on gum on the sidewalk and can't get it off your shoes.
I don't think I should be trusted with the Nuclear Codes.

All town streets are passable and salted. All businesses are back

are planned to get another Nor'easter in a few days. It will be the 4th
