I had a smoothie this morning but failed to grab a photo, darn it!
Mine was strawberries, raspberries, vanilla Greek yogurt, almond milk, chia seeds, and a pinch of acai berry powder.
Delicious!

I make a spurlina smoothie every morning with mixed berries, a splash of orange juice and organic yogurt...
thank you for this thread.
For an early lunch -
No picture but it was tasty
1 scoop chocolate protein powder 80 calories
1 tablespoon peanut butter 90 calories
100 grams cafe latte yogurt 35 calories
1 cup water
5 ice cubes
No pic and not a smoothie exactly but cooled us off yesterday after quite a workout
cup or 2 of frozen watermelon
cup or 2 of frozen strawberries
cup or 2 of homemade lemonade
So good, really, really good.
I buy fruit on sale whenever I can and freeze it for future smoothie or frozen drink use.
I am no longer afraid of buying a watermelon that might not be that good. When I cut it and it is less than we had hoped, my wife and I just look at each other and cheerfully say "smoothies!" and in the freezer it goes.

Do any of you use the PB2 powder in your smoothies? That shit is addictive! I even add it to my vanilla greek yogurt for a peanut butter-y mousse

Typical breakfast, and sometimes it's what's for dinner.
One scoop of cinnamon swirl protein powder, chia seed, flax seed, a generous scoop of PB2, extra cinnamon and almond milk.
Do any of you use the PB2 powder in your smoothies? That shit is addictive! I even add it to my vanilla greek yogurt for a peanut butter-y mousse
I haven't tried it. I kind of like the fat in peanuts, almonds, and nuts in general so I like peanut butter. I prefer it to the extra sugar that is always added when they take out fat. Plus the fat in the peanut butter or, even better, almond butter keeps me full longer. Plus I prefer organic in peanut butter cause peanuts are a heavily sprayed crop and the toxins easily soak through the porous shell and PB2 is not organic. But as I've said I haven't tried it so I could change my mind. It might not completely replace peanut butter but it could be something to use in cooking, like baking cookies and such. Things I'm not counting on to fill me up and give me energy for the day.
after workout smoothie today:
tablespoon shredded coconut
200 grams coconut yogurt
1 cup of frozen pineapple,(froze it myself fresh)
1/2 cup of water (I like it like that, but one could easily use milk or almond breeze or some such.

is coconut yogurt vegan?? if so great idea! I'm going to try to find some! Thanks :hk11:
This one might be vegan

But that's not the one I had. I had this one and it's quite caloric and high in fat and definitely not vegan. I do love this yogurt though.

Because I need a powerhouse of a shake Before work - highly physical job and never more than 5 minutes to stop and eat at work so I need to make sure I've got what I need before I leave the house - I have tried many different combinations but I find this works best -
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 sliced and frozen banana
1/3 cup dessert tofu or high protien yogurt (home made. I can't eat store bought because they add dairy to it after. Home made yogurt has zero lactose in it)
2 pieces frozen pineapple
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/3 cup coconut milk
1/3 cup coconut water
1 cup rice milk.
2 teaspoons macha or instant espresso
That keeps me going through six hours of hard work and no break. Aside from drinking 1/4 cup of pineapple juice mixed with 5 cups coconut water to combat losing electrolytes at work.

In this order put in blender
2/3--3/4 cup cold water
1 (cut-up) cold pear
1/2 frozen banana slices

1/2 cup frozen grapes
Blend up to 1 minute. Yum. Great snack!
Mine usually is:
6 oz. Coconut Almond Breeze unsweetened

Sometimes I use a scoop of the Powdered Peanut Butter PB2 & a banana in the chocolate protein powder
1 cup Pumpkin flavor Greek Yogurt....................:sunglass:
ETA: I add milk first, then banana & mix well, then add yogurt OR PB2, then Protein Powder flavor of choice & blend all well

I love this combo ....
parsley (leaves, stalks or both)
3 to 5 kale (leaves, stalks or both)
2 celery stalks
1 cucumber
1 tart green apple
slice of ginger (start small maybe 1/4″ to 1/2″ slice)
In place of the kale I sometimes use collards, chard, or spinach or I'll add carrot or dandelion greens. I like lots of ginger and sometimes I add a green bell pepper. So many ways you adapt this and it's still tasty.
I used to make this in my juicer and will start making it in my blender. I think I'll need to add water.

That sounds absolutely delicious. I will see about getting flavored protein powder, next time I go shopping. Plus, for those like me who have milk allergies (lactose intolerance), I will see if I can make it with Almond milk and use shredded coconut to aid in binding the smoothie.

Your smoothie sounds good too, minus the spinach *lol*.
But your spinach idea? I was thinking that maybe a green smoothie made with spinach might be paired with spirulina, pear, banana, pineapple, celery and filtered water? I'm gonna try that making that kind of green soothe soon. I loved your smoothie idea, though!
Anyone know of any good smoothies using prunes. Absolutely love prunes, plums, bananas, expresso, berries, cacao, and pineapple. Thanx!
I think you asked a great question about using prunes in a smoothie, cathexis! I love freshly picked Italian prunes or any sort of dried plum or prune. I'm wondering if prunes could be paired off with cheeries, raspberries, pears and filtered water, apple juice and then use some sort of protein powder that will add as an binder, yet give the smoothie a slick kick of protein too? I don't know of any recipes, but it's fun to create smoothies that you can't find anywhere else, but in your own kitchen!
Cheers to new smoothie recipes! :)

I use Prunes and Dates a lot to help sweeten or cover spinach, kale, or broccoli I have found nothing that will do much for a beet shake I keep trying to work out. Prunes have a lot of perks fiber, protein, low fat, vitamin K and several of the B's...
I love smoothies makes my breakfast fast easy and mobile and keeps me from the likes of Jack in The Box, too bad it does not help when I am already out for the day and want In and Out....

2 scoops chocolate whey protein powder,1 banana,2 tablespoons peanut butter,1 cup Greek yogurt sugar free, and 1/2 cup 2%milk... that's every day best wake up and go ever
When I worked out and drank protein shakes, this is what I would always have, chocolate whey protein, peanut butter, banana, and almond milk.
No measuring, though.
The best!
To me, it just tastes just like a milkshake.

I usually go with frozen peaches, raspberries, and some kind of fruit juice! I also really love frozen bananas with soymilk, vanilla extract, and chocolate chips all blended up together. It's pretty much ice cream and it's great if you're lactose intolerant or just trying to get more fruit in!

fresh carrot juice and frozen pineapple..yummy
Sounds pretty good, except it would send my A1c into orbit, LOL (or not).
I tend to have four ounces of organic carrot juice daily... which is helping my body out a lot.
The latest smoothie I have been making is with the Burt's Bees protein powder and it's strictly a vegetable smoothie. I bake off a bunch of parsnips, squash and beets and cauliflower and acorn squash; then I cut them all up, after roasting them, and keep them in a glass dish in the fridge, so I can use them for my smoothie shakes.
I have no idea what you'd call my type of protein vegetable smoothie, but it is kind of a long the lines of a nice autumn supper of vegetables that normally close the fall season.

1 Frozen banana
Approx. 1 1/2 Cup unsweetened almond milk
1 Tbsp raw cacao powder
1/2 Tsp cinnamon
1 Tsp vanilla
3 Pitted medjool dates, honey or maple syrup
These are approximate measurements since I just eyeball everything. You can add or modify this recipe to your liking.
Sometimes I add a nut butter or sneak in some veggies or fruit. It all depends on how hungry I am or what I'm craving. :)

Here's a link (https://sprintkitchen.com/smoothie-calorie-calculator/) to a smoothie nutritional calculator I've started using.
You have to do your own calculations to get the net carb (subtract fiber from total carbs), but I like this calculator.
For my last batch I used the following veggies and fruit
2 bunches of Spinach
1" diameter of Ginger
1 8-inch Cucumber
1 bunch of Parsley
4 stalks of medium size Celery
1 Small Apple
Water
This is the nutritional information from the calculator:
https://i.postimg.cc/hjSYM9ZY/Screenshot-2023-12-02-at-11-04-05-AM.png (https://postimages.org/)
– Calories = 378
– Carbs = 46.7g (after subtracting fiber)
– Fiber = 28 g
I usually end up with 60 oz in each batch and usually drink 10-20 oz a day.
This may be more information than most people want but thought I'd share it for anyone keeping a close eye on these things.
Please let me know if anyone has a link to a nutritional calculator you like that's free to use.
