Blade,
Do you remember the show called Emergency 51? I loved that show. I agree with you on Adam 12, Mork & Mindy, The Walton's, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, and Daniel Boone. I used to wear a Daniel Boone hat to Church. I even had his gun, knife, and the boots. It was a dream come true for me.

Hill Street Blues
The Simpsons
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Knight Rider (First one not the second)
Firefly
Star Trek: The Next Generation
Babylon 5
The Muppet Show
But my favorite show of all time is:
The Bugs Bunny-Road Runner Show
(because, as far as I am concerned, the very essence of funny is watching Daffy Duck and Bugs confuse Elmer Fudd. "It's rabbit season! No it's duck season! It's rabbit season, fire!")
Cheers

I love this thread, Andrew! There have been times when I latch onto a show and then ~ several years down the way ~ they cancel it and here I am: :overreaction:
So.....I loved these...
~Bonanza
~The Ed Sullivan Show
~Mr. Ed
~Andy Griffin (Griffith?)
~Gunsmoke
~Rawhide
~I Love Lucy (the first round)
~Remmington Steele
~Moonlighting
~L. A. Law
~Magnum, PI
~Boston Legal
~Dr. Kildare
~Marcus Welby, MD
~Ben Casey (I was going to marry him.....just so You'll know.)
~The Today Show with Bryant Gamble (?) & Katie Couric
Oh I know there are more shows......:heartbeat:
The Addms Family (the real one)
I picked my first boyfriend, in 3rd grade, because he reminded me of gomez...
I knew why I loved that TV show even when I was a little girl...it was: though all the family members had their own 'quirks' they were always nice, and accepting, and totally loving to each other...they were loyal and steadfast with each other...they were fully who they were and didn't give any thought to strangers who had nothing better to do than to judge them...all and all they were just solid, and cool, and Totally the family I wanted to be a part of...
tmi, once again?---what can I say?--my fingers have a life of their own !
n
I think one of the best shows ever on American TV has been "The Wire." Uncompromising. Unflinching. And very powerful. Each and every episode.
The tv show I lament most is West Wing.. Greatest tv writers ever... then X-Files.. god, I loved that red headed genius!
The rest are mostly ones already posted.. shows that take us back to a simpler time... and theme songs were catchy ;)

Oh, I miss The West Wing. Though it was a little over the top sometimes. Still, a solid show.

Dear Blade & Corkey, :fastdraq:
:police: :pirate-steer:
Back then life was so simple. I loved riding bikes, climbing trees, playing sports, fishing, playing in streams, and fields. I will never forget having a clear jar with frogs, crickets, and what not in it and I put in the refrig. because it was summertime. I didn't want the animals to break a sweat. :frog::fishswim::floatbee: I will never forget the blood-curdling scream the next morning. :formalbow:

My all-time fave show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It had some of the best writing ever. Love, love, love this show.
It's spin-off, Angel, was also excellent, and got to be a bit more dark.
I don't watch much TV. I tend to see things on re-run because I work nights.
But I totally ADORE CSI:NY. (Can you say Melina Kanakaredes...yum!)
I also like Family Guy, King of the Hill and Robot Chicken.
And of course, I totally grew up a fan of all the older ones that have been mentioned.

A special favorite TV show shout out for my mom (rest in peace sweet woman) ...
STAR TREK the original series
... She had a thing for Shatner ;)
My mom used to work nights and would come home around 10-11pm ... on weekends it was a treat for me to stay up and wait for her to come home. We would crash together in this little sofa chair (would only fit one, but I squashed myself in there) and we would watch late night TV, especially Star Trek together. Because of her, I am a Trek fan.

Oh and i sorta met him once. He was staying in a hotel i was staying in and it was the opening of the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville. He was waiting to go up on the elevator. He said "good morning" to me. I said "Good afternoon" back to him. He snickered. It was afternoon. He was short.

Firefly – This might be my favorite show ever. I still can’t believe there was only the one tiny season. How could this show miss?
Carnivale
Six Feet Under
The Wire
Dead Like Me
Sons of Anarchy
The Shield
Dexter
Justified
Nurse Jackie
The Riches – I really enjoy Eddie Izzard
The Good Wife
I’m enjoying Revenge. Wondering where it’s heading.
Older Shows
Sports Night
Picket Fences, The Practice, Chicago Hope, Boston Legal (I miss this show especially Alan and Denny), Ally McBeal – I’m pretty much a David E. Kelley fan.
Ellen – Cause she cracks me up. And also props cause she came out to Oprah on national tv and then had her character do it too. It was also my introduction to Jeremy Piven, who I love on Entourage.
The Sopranos
Seinfeld
Roseanne
Mad About You
Northern Exposure
The Bob Newhart Show – The first one was my favorite but I enjoyed the “hi I’m larry; this is Darryl and this is my other brother Darryl” one as well.
Arrested Development
Angel and of course Buffy
Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman
Soap
The Prisoner – impressive perhaps iconic
Special mention for two episodes of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, when Chuckles the Clown dies and when Mary writes a joke eulogy that gets read on the air.
One particularly long Canadian winter I snuggled with my baby and watched each and every season of the Gilmore Girls on dvd (initially under protest but I got hooked). Something very similar happened with West Wing.
Canadian TV
Durham County – rather an awesome show (I’m a huge Hugh Dillon fan)
Flashpoint – Did I mention Hugh Dillon?
Being Erica
Due South
The Rich Mercer Show
This Hour Has 22 Minutes – especially when it had the Rick Mercer feature Talking To Americans

Dunno if anyone's said this one yet, but Steven Universe. It's a damn cartoon on Cartoon Network and *still* possibly the best damn show I've ever seen. Brilliantly written, brilliantly paced, excellent character and relationship development, an actual narrative with no sitcom-style reverting to a status quo at the end of every episode, a title character who's a repudiation of toxic masculinity, a cast of heroes and villains who are very much majority-women (one of whom is a lesbian relationship, it's a long story), smart-as-hell usage of foreshadowing and generally assuming the audience isn't stupid, etc. Did I mention it's a damn cartoon on Cartoon Network.

Lately, I've been gaga over TV shows from the BBC (ie, House Restoration, Country House Rescue) and the TV show that I think used to be on OPB -- This Old House, type shows.
But self-made business woman Ruth Watson is always on an mission to help people fully realize their dreams by finding ways for home owners to generate legitimate revenue to support their endeavors to preserve homes that have historical significance to their community, etc.
Take this episode about the Jacobean 'house' that owner Cornelia has worked on by herself for over 25 years, at the time this docu-series type show was filmed. It's very interesting and Ruth Watson is an genius at coming up with feasible solutions to help save these types of architectural wonders.
I'm not British nor have I always had access to watching these types of shows, but I just love shows that teach you about the history of the building, the history of the original owners, and provides insight into the lives of the people who have invested time and energy to preserve homes that are in dire need of repair and restoration.

I’m adding Killing Eve (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7016936/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1) to this thread. It’s about a clever female assassin who’s being tracked by a secret MI5 group.
The assassin, Villanelle (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villanelle_(character)), is clearly a psychopath who enjoys her job but she pretty much has it under control by focusing on her assignments.
I’m (re)watching it now. It’s one of my “Escape Trump” series to watch.

Love this show from Europe.
It's essentially a "cops and robbers" show but all the action takes place in the interrogation room. The interrogators try to get the suspects to open up and talk and the game is on once the talking starts.
It's well written and well acted. Most everyone has an agenda and you're not sure who or who not to believe.
It's on my mind because I'm annoyed with all the political ads and am thinking of getting Netflix again.

I know this tv show I’ve watched many times is probably not at the top of any list of favorites, tv show wise, but I totally love episodes by Stanley Tucci and Anthony Bourdain. Food shows are truly helpful to me and I love learning about other cultures who eat differently than we do here at home. I try to choose foods that are healthy to consume that do a human body good.
