I was watching the Quentin Tarantino movie, Jackie Brown, when Max Cherry (Bail Bondsman), is SO enchanted by Jackie that he goes out to but an cassette tape of music by The Delphonics. Max listens to "Didn't I Blow Your Mind in nearly every scene that drives the plot of the movie (P.S. I thought Max fell in love with Jackie).
I found a cool mix tape of this song on SoundCloud and added it to my Playlist of tunes..... :)

OMG, I absolutely LOVED this movie!!!!
<<<<<~~ huge fan of movies directed by Quentin Tarantino and an even bigger fan of Philadelphia Soul from the 60s and 70s, especially singers or groups produced by Thom Bell. Like The Delphonics, Maxine Nightingale, The Stylistics....and others. Thom Bell's nephew lives in the greater Seattle area (LeRoy Bell). :)

Max was enchanted by Jackie I agree and to some extend in love with her as well. In the end I think he was more realistic as to why it might not work out between them but hell with all that money between them, I'd taken a chance and went for it!

Well, if it were me, it would be about love and mutual attraction. Not money.
Sorry for the derail, Martina!!! :bunchflowers:

Kate Edmonson's style of jazz delivery is like Billie Holliday, Stacy Kent and a bit of bossa nova. .... she covers several artists on this album, including The Cure.
This is what I am listening too, today. :bunchflowers:

Today feels like an Carl McIntosh (Loose Ends, British Soul) kind of day, so I'm going to listen to some of his music. Here's one song that I like a lot.....I guess he has come out of retirement and is doing concerts in the US, before returning back to London.

I was listening to Gram Parson on Amazon music when Hickory Wind came on, reminding me of my favorite cover by Seldom Scene. The great John Duffey is without compare. That high lonesome voice (his mother sang opera at the Met) and the virtuoso mandolin playing give me goosebumps. I don't often exaggerate when praising music. Listening to him really does give me chills.
