Get a big bottle of scented, alcohol hand sanitizer, drench a bath towel with it, lay it over the area that they are trying to dig. All 5 of my dogs hate that smell and it's not toxic to them.

Fennel tea could help with digestion but there also could be some side effects as this tea is not for someone that has estrogen dominance, is on blood thinners or has a bleeding disorder (from what I have read).
