Site Outage - 6/13 - 14/2013

Hey Folks-

We had an issue with our SQL service at some point during the night (my guess is around 2am) and I received a text this morning from LaDivina alerting me to the issue.

I have restarted our SQL service and optimized our tables and it appears that everything is back to normal now.

Our site has gotten so huge that she sometimes gets a little top-heavy and we have to tap the tables down a little bit.

Photo Posting and TOS Updates - IMPORTANT

Hey Folks-

I need to address a few things with the membership to make sure we are all on the same page.

I have just updated the TOS. Please read the TOS at your earliest convenience and become familiar with the rules of the site. We do updates periodically and it is really important that members know what we want for the site.

What changes were made to the TOS?

We have highlighted a few items in the TOS about posting photos on the site and what kinds of photos are acceptable or not acceptable
We have streamlined some of the language in our TOS
We have reminded folks that it is impossible for us to write down every single rule that someone could possibly break. We don't want to have to write down "Please do not post naked dancing hippos with baby Jesus butt plugs hanging from their asses". Why? Because people should know better for one thing and for another thing, it falls under the "disruptive posting" guideline.
We've added a clause about making fun of "fat" people, people with disabilities, and that whole "People of Walmart" thing. In short, do not make fun of other people here against their consent. Whether they are random people on the street or people in this community, keep your nasty comments to yourself.
I've also added a clause about people who try to invoke a relationship with the Mods or Admins to try to intimidate other users. If you tell someone "I know Medusa and I will have her ban you", you will be moderated. Don't do it.

The most important thing you should know about posting photos on this site:

We have had to moderate a LARGE amount of photos in the last 6 months for nudity, inappropriate content, people using our forums as their galleries, etc.
Quite frankly, we are worn out with moderating the same thing over and over.
Just so we are all on the same page:

Nudity OF ANY KIND is NEVER allowed on our site. No butts, no chests, no crotches, no penises OF ANY GENDER.
NO photos of children anywhere in the forum where a sexual discussion or kink-related discussion is happening. Photos of children should NEVER be posted in sexual discussion for any reason. It is good practice not to post photos of children AT ALL but if you must, use the gallery at your discression. Remember, anyone can log in and view photos of your child.
If you are a member who repeatedly uses our forum to post photos of yourself? Your personal pets? Your kids? You are violating the TOS. Post all personal photos in the galleries. The forums are for discussion.

We do not want to have to remove the ability for members to post photos on the forums that pertain to discussions merely because we have a few members who don't follow the rules. Please do your best to adhere to the TOS photo guidelines and report photos that fall outside of those guidelines.

Recipes and Cooking Advice

i have thought about this for a few weeks posted a few recipes on different threads. They received a good response so i think a recipe sharing thread might be fun. Many of U/us have family recipes W/we might like to share to tickle the fancy of the palette. W/we can also talk about dining and how important it be as a family meal a celebration. i will begin with a recipe for Russian rye or black bread.

4 cups unsifted rye flour
3 cups unsifted white flour
1 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 cups whole bran cereal
2 tbsp. crushed caraway seed
2 tsp. instant coffee or powdered used coffee grounds
2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. fennel seed, crushed
2 pckg. active dry yeast
2-1/2 cups water
1/4 cup white vinegar (or 1/8 cup balsamic vinegar)
1/4 cup DARK molasses
1 square (1 oz) Unsweetened chocolate
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
1 tsp. cornstarch
1/2 cup COLD water (*icy* cold!)

Combine the rye and white flours. In a second bowl blend 2-1/3 cups of the flour mixture, the sugar, salt, cereal, caraway seed, coffee, onion powder, fennel seed and un-dissolved dry yeast.

Combine 2-1/2 cups of water, vinegar, molasses, chocolate and margarine in a saucepan. Heat on low until very warm not boiling. Butter or margarine and chocolate don�t need to melt. Gradually add the liquid to the dry ingredients, beat a couple of minutes with a mixer, scraping the bowl from time to time. Add 1/2 cup of the mixed flour. Beat at high speed about two minutes, scrape the bowl occasionally. Stir in enough additional mixture of the flour to make a soft dough.

Turn dough onto a lightly floured board cover and let it rest about 15 minutes. Knead until smooth and elastic about 10 to 15 minutes. The dough may be sticky, but that�s okay. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning to grease the top of the dough as well as the bottom.

Cover and let it rise in a warm place, free from any draft. When the dough doubles in bulk in about an hour, punch it down, turn it out onto a lightly floured board. Divide in half. Shape each half into a ball about 5 inches across. Place each ball into the center of a greased 8-inch round cake pan.
Cover, and let it rise until they�re both doubled, usually an hour, depending on the weather.
Bake at 350 degrees 45 to 50 minutes, or until done check with toothpick. Meanwhile, combine cornstarch and ice water. Cook over medium heat, stir constantly, until the mixture just begins to boil; continue to cook, stir constantly, for another minute. As soon as the bread is baked, brush the cornstarch mixture over the loaves. Return the bread to the oven and bake for another two or three minutes, until the glaze is set. Remove from the pans and cool.
