several interests on both netflix & hulu

I am half way through Season 2 of Grace & Frankie! (I know...it is "older" series, BUT I just began to watch!!).

I have thought about watching Handmaid's Tale....glad to see folks comment on it.

Interested in the new series 13 Reasons Why...about a 13 yr old who takes her own life & leaves 13 letters telling the reasons why..13 reasons...

while it may sound depressing, I find stories like this to be very profound, perhaps offering insight to other teens who may be struggling with these same thoughts. Suicide is something we will probably never understand. I had a parent do this when I was 16 yrs old.

Queen Sugar on Hulu. It was very good at least in my opinion

I learned about another really good movie by coming across it by accident on YouTube, yesterday.

Steve Carrell, the guy who starred in Little Miss Sunshine, stars in the movie Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. It's a comedy drama, which is laced with darkish humor....but, I thought it was well done. The soundtrack to the movie, was pretty good too.

okay, Liam, thanks for letting me know!
My daughter likes shows like that, possibly, so I'll tell her about it and see if she's ever watched it before. I'm not a fan of pirate stuff, but she is. Thanks, Liam!

Pirates is rated for mature audiences. Bloody, gory, violence, could be triggering.

We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011).
Holy crap, this movie was way beyond my expectations. I expected it to be a decent thriller, but it was dramatic and gut-wrenching in places. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1242460/?ref_=ttfc_fc_tt

Does anyone watch Catastrophe on Amazon Prime?

I have read really great reviews about it but never did.

I saw a clip on TV this morning that cracked me up and may now have to give it a try:

Wife comes in, husband on couch with just underpants on.

She says: Where are your trousers?

Hubby: I feel really fat, they were too tight, so I threw them away.

It just cracked me up. Part of the visual is that he has really, super-hairy legs.

The other part is that I could relate.

I have, on a rare occasion, worn pants that were too tight and was miserable all day.

I am currently watching the entire series of the original Beverly Hills 90210 on Hulu.

Rogue One........

i watched it because i have watched them all.... over the past few months.

not impressed :(

This show is hilarious!

Right after I posted this a I binged all 3 seasons.

Rob Delany is truly funny.

Carrie Fisher plays his mom. This was the series that she was in and was coming back from London on the airplane, after shooting the last episode of season 3 when she died.

She was so funny as a curmudgeon MIL and mom in the series.

I don't know how they will handle it in season 4.

Don't let it stop you from watching it, it is great.

I'm watching....

I love Power. I watched seasons 1 & 2 and still have to catch up to this season. I can't just watch one episode, I tend to binge watch which always makes me feel so guilty.

I also love Suits, the show and the clothing. ;)

Chasing Ice

Equal parts adventure as it is environmentalism, Chasing Ice follows one filmmaker’s attempt to document climate change. Filmed over multiple years, James Balog captures the fast and slow moments of a glacier’s life. From descending crevasses to capturing frozen waterfalls, Balog does whatever it takes to portray the changing ice.

I just could not get into it this season. I thought the main event (don't want to give a spoiler) went on forever and would never end!

I think I still have the last two episodes unwatched.

Wenworth is much better, in my opinion.

Animal Kingdom is good. Ellen Barkin looks terrific!

The Founder stars: Michael Keaton Laura Dern

The story of Ray Kroc, a salesman who turned two brothers' innovative fast food eatery, McDonald's, into the biggest restaurant business in the world with a combination of ambition, persistence and ruthlessness.

The Founder features the true story of how Ray Kroc, a struggling salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers' speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. The movie details how Kroc maneuvered himself into a position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire.

Lyte 08-25-2017 09:51 PM

I watched a hysterical comedy special today-- "Lynne Koplitz: Hormonal Beast" (Netflix)

Highly recommend

Bootsandheels 08-26-2017 06:12 PM

I'm sure it's been talked about before, but "A Handmaid's Tale" was sooo good and so applicable for right now! Frightening but incredible! So nice to see Elizabeth Moss finally shed her Peggy role from "Mad Men"! I think she is going to win an Oscar someday... :)
