The Merry Thoughts - Station to Station
A superb Bowie cover from an often overlooked Goth Band that, as it happens, often sounded more like the Sisters of Mercy on a good day than SOM did:

I'm sure I put this in here way back, but heard it again yesterday and am reminded why this, to me anyway, beats even Dylan. |
"What Becomes of the Brokenhearted" was a hit single recorded by Jimmy Ruffin and released on Motown Records' Soul label in the summer of 1966. It is a ballad, with lead singer Jimmy Ruffin recalling the pain that befalls the brokenhearted, who had love that's now departed. |

You'll Never Walk Alone (Soccer anthem sung by Liverpool FC fans, 2019)
You'll Never Walk Alone by Rodgers & Hammerstein was written for the Broadway musical Carousel (1945). 20 years later, Gerry & the Pacemakers covered the original song by R&H, making it popular once again. Liverpool FC adopted this song as it's official anthem, as well as a few other soccer clubs around the world. |
Ituana | You can't always get what you want (Big Little Lies Remix)
I was watching Big Little Lies (season 1. DVD) and it occurred to me that the mega hit by The Rolling Stones - You Can't Always Get What You Want, was covered at the end of the last episode of season 1.
It's an awesome cover by Ituana. She's got a beautiful voice. |

I recognized this song, and thought, is that Billy Ray Cyrus? Some taped talk show was on during my lunch break.

Stan Taylor's collection of cover songs
Came across Stan Taylor today. He's got two amazing covers: 1) Al Wilson's (Let's Stay Together) and 2) The Manhattan's (Shining Star).
I'd say he's pretty talented. |
