We really need to be thinking more about the oppression, abuse and exploitation of women as a global problem. We Americans, seem to have this 'it's not my problem" attitude but it definitely is our problem, Women are a collective class no matter how many miles separate them. It doesn't matter if some woman wears a burka. The day she has acid splashed in her face, she may as well have been you or me. The ruling class has nearly succeeded in alienating women from each other but we can't let them. They want us to believe that women have no class interests, and yet they certainly use their status and wealth to operate as a class. As Americans and women of industrialized nations, we should be fighting for all women like we would for a sister, a friend, or ourselves.
