A couple of clowns in Home Depot. Actually, these guys were employees.
I crawled up on the 2 metal beams that stick out, hold the lumber, preceded to get the choice 2x4x8's that were not picked over. I tried to be discrete but was caught. It is a no-no for customers to crawl up on these steel beams. I could hear them at the other end of the isle. "Oh no, please come down, you cannot get up there, we'll help you." When they arrived, I said, "yes I can, I am already here and no thank you, I am getting them myself." When he knew I was not taking their assistance, one guy pulled one of those stand on ladders up behind me and said he really wished I would stand on their ladder since I would not come down and let him get up there. I told him I would and for him to stand down there and I would hand the boards down to him. He said he would and added that he was really picky too when he bought wood. This fellow and I were working together very well and talking when an assistant store manager came over and started reprimanding him. I told the manager not to pick on him because he had done everything he could to have me come down. Mr. Manager began mumbling about if I fell, I would sue Home Depot ... blah blah blah. So I created a cyclic, continuous running dialog at the manager "I am coming down right now, see me now, I am on my way down right now, see me now" as I spoke on the side to my partner asking how many more did I need to make 10 of them ... or was it 12 - cannot recall. Anyway, I talked enough silly to finally get the manager to laugh. Happy ending with my helper graciously stacking the wood on the back of my truck for me. And the boards are pristeen, no knotty areas in critical places. Just as I like them to be. :) They were a decent group to work around. Once I was threatened with a call to the guys in blue if I did not come down from the fence board area. Actually, I was a lot higher up that time. But still, how annoying! |

I just read a news story... this made me laugh.. FORT WALTON BEACH, Florida - An opossum that apparently drank bourbon after breaking into a Florida liquor store sobered up at a wildlife rescue center and was released unharmed. Emerald Coast Wildlife Refugee officials say the opossum was brought in by a Fort Walton Beach, Florida police officer on Nov. 24. A liquor store employee found the animal next to a broken and empty bottle of bourbon. "A worker there found the opossum up on a shelf next to a cracked open bottle of liquor with nothing in it," said Michelle Pettis, a technician at the refuge. "She definitely wasn't fully acting normal." Deborah |

Lots of things. The new kitty is eating/drinking/using the litter box. The original kitty is behaving, for the most part. My love is amazing as always and work should be hard, but go by verrry fast today. I like it when that happens.

Walking into work and finding a tomato shark on my desk with a nice holiday note saying it's used to "quickly remove the calyx or stem of a tomato in one simple and clean motion. It's also an excellent tool for stemming strawberries, kiwis, or hollowing mushrooms to be stuffed."

Handing in two actual course assignments today, first two of my course, including the one that's been my pet hate this last many weeks. One of the two is even in a week early! :-)

Getting an email from my Mom.
I just set her up on Facebook, and told all her friends, don't expect any comments. All she knows is the thumbs up. This email I received from her...the entire body of it was in the subject line. She is learning :) |

It is snowing here, too! About 2.5 inches so far, and it’s still coming down. Big fat flakes. It looks like a winter wonderland. ☃️
It rarely ever snows here. There will be a snowman or snowgator at some point. :) |
